201 posts . This was only started yesterday wasn't it ?
Off to catch up now !!!!

Lcy · 07/08/2008 07:11

Morning FoghornLeghorn

Right off to wake up DH with a cuppa

miamla · 07/08/2008 07:13

expectant
Try not to worry. I was in exactly the same position as you last week. They were threatening to rupture my membranes because of decelerations in Theo's heartrate during a contraction.I'm convinced it was my heart that was being picked up and not his. Anyway, they didn't get a chance to rupture anything because they broke naturally shortly after. They will only interfere if they really think its necessary esp on such a key date in the chinese calendar. Thinking of you, try not to worry

FoghornLeghorn · 07/08/2008 07:14

Aha Hangman was to blame mostly

Congrats to Pg1
Hope you're feeling a bit better today Annvan

I've got midwife this arvo, going to ask her to do a sweep, I'm only 39+3 but hopsital midwife told me to ask the other day

ataraxis · 07/08/2008 07:15

morning.. 3 hours asleep, 1 hour awake... and so it continued all night. Thank goodness for a comfy sofa or I think DH would have murdered me the amount I was fidgeting last night.

expectant, hope things go well for you today. I was wondering how manic it would be over there on the birthing front tomorrow. Good date in general, but particularly with the luck thing going on. Hope it all works out as you want it to.

TS, sorry to hear about the lack of progress, but that was 2 hours ago so I am still rooting for you.

AnnVan, hope sleeping improves for you. Do you get lots of chances to nap during the day?

miamla · 07/08/2008 07:22

Anyone know when sex is allowed again if one has a bit of a repair job in one's undercarriage?

AnnVan · 07/08/2008 07:24

I do have the chance to nap during the day, but I prefer not to. I'm worried that my daytime napping could justperpetuate the cycle. Having said that though, Even if I haven't slept in th eday, and hardly slept the previous night, I still don't manage. Gaaah. between heartburn, restless legs, and just plain old not being able to drift off...

Ah, anyway I will not moan, I will not moan...

And I think I'm going to go and try for a couple of hours sleep. See you all later!

FoghornLeghorn · 07/08/2008 07:24

Amazed you are even asking this soon Miamla .
I don't think there is a time frame though, just as and when you feel comfortable

ataraxis · 07/08/2008 07:26

miamla, I think in general you are supposed to wait until your 6 week check - if you can wait that long

mummypud · 07/08/2008 07:28

morning all , still not much happening today , was just going to ask if anyone had seen foghorn but there she is , hope things get going soon for you , i feel just as fed up x

ts hopefully you're at the hospital in loadsa pain, but then you'd still be kreeping us updated so guessing you;re asleep.

had to take codein last night for back ache, but managed to sleep. Albeit in reclined nursing chair in that yoga postion that ts posted a while back. still can't complain at 3hours uninterrupted

libbyssister · 07/08/2008 07:43

miamla - I also heard that 6 weeks was kinda standard but then you also hear of people at it in maternity wards . Oh and when I looked on that Freebirth website after the TV prog the other week, it talked about sex during labour ...

After DS, forceps, stitches, we tried at 6 weeks and managed to but it was pretty painful. A couple of weeks later we gave it another go and it was fine. One word: LUBRICANT

Anyone remember that Cold Feet episode where John Thompson's character was told by his wife that he had to wait 6 weeks and he started marking off the days in big red felt tip pen!

bealcain · 07/08/2008 07:49

miamla def when you feel comfortable,we were a few weeks with ds1 and a few days {blush] with ds2

mummypud · 07/08/2008 07:51

yep i am hoping for a 080808 birth too but the chances are it will be late like dd , still i am going to stuff my face and watch the olypic ceremony .
even have a cafetiere and box of strong coffee waiting on the top for my return from hospital , i couldnt be more ready.

VintageGardenia · 07/08/2008 07:54

hope you are either at the hospital or asleep TS...

Sorry for all those who had a rough night, me included.. started getting serious contractions last night, feeling really sick and horrible but by 3am they had tailored off arggggggg... now i am back to the dull period pain achyness....

bealcain · 07/08/2008 07:56

sarahnh · 07/08/2008 07:56

mummypud · 07/08/2008 07:57

miamla · 07/08/2008 08:05

6 weeks??? My sex drive has never been so high!! Arrrgggh!
Oh well, only 5 weeks to go!

Foghorn, just been reading your other thread. Pleased you managed to get some sleep ok

Bealcain, are you still having regular contractions?

bealcain · 07/08/2008 08:15

up til yesterday morning at 4am my amnswer would've been yes, but died off onw. thought that back ache and contractions last night might have been it, but no such luck. hopefully day will be pretty eventless for me as mum coming down later

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 07/08/2008 08:16

Thats great news Vg
I not slept much either, DH was on nights so had bed to myself but was up nearly every hour with foot and leg cramps.

Miamla I have been feeling like that for ages, but dh wont come anywhere near me. I asked him last week to just get drunk and get on with it.
His reply was there is not enough beer in the world love sorry'
Nice....

ataraxis · 07/08/2008 08:26

Brilliant news VG, so pleased for you.

miamla - just be careful - i know of a couple who had a baby in March and are expecting another one with a 10 month gap . At least that's one thing those of us still waiting don't have to think about at the moment .

miamla · 07/08/2008 08:45

no1 that's really harsh! I hope you've put your DH in the doghouse! I'd be mad if mine said anything like that. I've been fighting mine off for 9 mths (banned by docs because of complications) then we had a few sessions to get baby moving. So its like famine and flood over here!

VG wow! that's fantastic news! I'm so pleased for you all but especially newest Gardenia, he's done so well. Can't wait to see photos

ataraxis hmmm good point! one month not being pregnant doesn't sound v long, your poor friend!

bealcain perhaps some pampering from your mum will get things moving

i'm a little anxious today. Theo and I are going out for the first time on our own to a local mums coffee morning thing. Its only a mile away so doesn't seem worth getting the car out but i'm wondering whether a mile is a little far to walk at the moment. I guess I'll find out in about an hour! Even when out with DP as well, I was a bit of a nervous thing. I kept going through my head worse case scenarios even down to someone grabbing him out of his pram. I have a feeling that this morning is going to be rather eventful.

ooooh i can smell from across the room that my nappy changing skills are suddenly required! Does anyone else's LO not like pooing? T gets really upset before and during but is fine after
