Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dizzydixies · 06/08/2008 15:10

thank you

I shouldn't complain really in comparison to what I had the last two time this is nothing, still - not funny [grrrrr]

TwilightSurfer · 06/08/2008 15:11

Dizzy, roosting on a nice small bag of ice feels nice too. The cold/cool sitz bath with salt trick is wonderful too. I've read that warmth causing the buggers to relax so rotating cool/warm is a good idea....same concept for swollen ankles injuries.

ataraxis · 06/08/2008 15:32

TS - if we actually manage to get into that pose, how do you suggest we ever get out again?

FoghornLeghorn · 06/08/2008 15:33
Smile
AnnVan · 06/08/2008 15:52

Hello all! took me ages to catch up. Well , I eventually managed some sleep. Couldn't be bothered to get up when I woke, so I had a serious lie in I needed to catch up anyway.

I can't seem to see pics of CC's oliver/jerry. My computer doesnt seem to bring them up grrr.

Oh well, really need to clear up the debris from last night's crab as the living room stinks of fish now

It feels like bumpy is scratching at the exit - very odd feeling.

sarahnh · 06/08/2008 16:05

grrrrr girls i feel sick .. tmi cannot stop going to the loo and keep getting shocking pain up my bum ... when is it going to end?????

TwilightSurfer · 06/08/2008 16:10

Oh poor Ataraxis you don't have to recline that far back...only go as far as you're comfortable. And with another person in the house if necessary. You sound like me when the doc said to soak in the tub. I could probably get in it but getting out would be a whole other story.

I have finally cleaned up DD's room after asking DH to assist her with it DAYS ago. I guess it's for the best as I seem to be only one who knows that Barbies go in the Barbie box and Cars go in the Car box and Kitchen toys go in the Kitchen toy box. Why that is difficult to "understand" I'll never know.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 06/08/2008 16:12

{{hugs}}Sarah. We could make a game out of this. Who can go to the loo more in say an hour's time?? As long as I don't EAT anything you might have a chance of winning.

OP posts:
bealcain · 06/08/2008 16:17

oooo can i join that game??

AnnVan · 06/08/2008 16:22

I can't join that game - if I did, I would lose by a mile! Sorry Sarah Ihave the opposite problem to you. Apricots have stopped working even. Might have to try prune juice next

bealcain · 06/08/2008 16:33

god, i'm bored again, anyone here to keep my spirits up?

i am going to pack my bag tonight, i am going to pack my bag tonight

longwayfromhome · 06/08/2008 17:03

Just come back from the obstetrician. CTG fine, showing the contractions - I'm still measuring big and weighing a lot, but no surprises there. BP fine.

Internal examination: apparently the cervix is thin but not dilated and the head is "bien abajo" - well down. Not quite sure how to translate this.

(PS weekly appointments since 36 weeks plus an internal examination at 38+5 weeks - is this normal in the UK?)

Oh well, she said that she would see me next week if not before! My PIL are coming for lunch on Saturday which is nice as I will have to clean the house beforehand, and I like having a clean house afterwards.

My obstetrician also said to come in to hospital if the contractions are 5 minutes apart even if they aren't painful, which sounded a bit odd to me - although maybe something got lost in translation. Any ideas, oh wise women?

Finally, I don't think that I'll be arranging a marriage for baby LWFH before he is born, and although it would be nice to add him into the matchmaking programme that you are setting up, I would have to add that in my experience having an Argentine husband is great but you do tend to end up pregnant and on the other side of the world.

Sibh · 06/08/2008 17:24

Miamla - the name thing is crazy isn't it. We have a boy called Fintan and most of DH's family spent a year calling him Vincent. We just named one of his bears Vince, and he still gets the odd birthday card all to himself ...

Last night's BHs were just that I'm afraid but at least I'm more packed than I was. And the freezer has filled up today with DD's 'help.'

TS when I suggested to DD that she should help tidy the playroom she answered 'No thanks. Me just watch.'

It's good to hear things are going better for mini-VG - we're all sending him lots of love and strength. DS had an Apgar score of three and really struggled at the beginning but it's amazing how quickly they shake off that vulnerability. Take care of yourself VG ...

alittlebitshy · 06/08/2008 17:31

Great new thread Ts

I don't remember the shocking poos from last time so they're a bit interesting. My son poos for england. One meal in the last out (if he's waited that long) - and the wee fountains a la boys are a new one on me. dh has had more of them than me, lol, but I have had a few.....

I think we're getting there with feeding. It seemed to have gone a bit pete tong again last night /this am - seemed sore around the edge of the nipple - maybe Henry's suck was super ferocious - don't know. But today it seesm to be better as the day goes on. At one point yesterday, partic on one side I could feel the milk flowing and was really enjoying the feeds (except latch on - wouch) - let's hope it gets more and more like that. If it is like that the whole time i'm less likely to cave in and give him formula at some early stage (though i have already gone beyone when dd had emergency expressed and then formula! woo hoo).

Triredness still a killer but we're getting more used to it. last night we realised at about half 8 that he was asleep for a while so we went up and got a couple of hours before the next feed, then another couple and so on until 9 am (which had been a 3 hour gap). thank goodness for having my mum here at the moment dealing with dd in the mornings!! He is deffo an atrociuos sleeper compared to dd. trying not to compare though and hoping that he does do as people say and will eventually regulate and slip into a more discernible pattern.

had a bit of a bollocking by midwife cos we weren't in when she came. She won't give a half day slot - so we'd popped out for coffee to save my sanity (realised not been out properly for days). She's made us an app for Sunday to go the the hosp and get him weighed etc (and hopefully discharged) there.

those who had c/s. How are the scars? i have a bit of discomfort/pain/soreness on one side. Would have showed m/w if had seen her .

Enjoyed PATE for first time in ages today. yummmmmmy!

Are all the dh's joining in the night time fun? atm my dh is being a star and getting up - changing nappies if need be, swaddling Henry to keep the arms under control, passing him to me in bed (as I sort out my mountain of pillows for the feed), then he dozes while I feed, I wallop him and he leaps up, winds Henry and puts him back to bed (and gets him out again if he waaahs for more). I would def be even more insane if I was going it alone at night.

Henry not had much sleep today. heaps of feeds, some short comfort ones, some more substantial. He's asleep now (dh is watching simpsons while watching him) - hoping he has a decent one before his evening tank up!

sorry - all v me me/

Loving reading everyone's news though

alittlebitshy · 06/08/2008 17:45

Just reading some posts on the old thread:

miamla my ds was v hiccuppy inside too - and is the same out. V funny.

Re nursing bras. I'm not sure if the ones I got measured for before the birth are too small or not?? We're going to mothercare world next week so I'll live with it til then and then get measured again. Not sure if by now (2 weeks tomorrow) norks should have settled down or if i've still got a way to go. .They get v v full at certain times... v leaky at those times.....

sazz yay on decent visit!
My mil didn;t know I was havig section. She'd commented that I was lazy earlier in pg when i mentioned possibility so I wasn't going to tell her!!! She also hasn't seen ds yet cos had a row with dh about her harrassing him (he left her messages, she left him increasingly desparate ones and harangued him for not calling when she was in/off the phone - bearing in mind he was the one with a newborn and a dd to care for too)

dizzydixies · 06/08/2008 18:03

well done sazz on managing the in-law visit

at 3wks overdue though

ALBS sounds like you're doing great - right there with you on the toe curling though

just discovered dd2, who has been wearing the most adorable dress over pink leggings with her wellies all day, has also had on a pair of dd1's piglet pants over the top of her leggings under her dress

she just came into the room and flashed me her 'big girl pants' bless her

dd3 sleeping upstairs after marathon feeding session and we've just had fish fingers beans and chips for tea bless dh!

thats me aunt away home so that started me on the weepies again, poor dh doesn't know if I'm coming or going as am all over the place she was sooooo nice to me before she went saying all I had to do was call and she'd be straight back - I had to fight back the urge to bed her to stay

alittlebitshy · 06/08/2008 18:08

oh bless you dizzy . I know just how you feel re having someone there. And i haven't been through what you've been through. My mum is here this week for helping with dd and the house, and frankly i think i'd be even more insane without her being here. If you want your aunt to stay/come back why don;t you just say so. You won't be feeling like this forever, so why not take her help while you need it?

aw at your dd2 and her big girls pants.

my dd has been breast feeding her dollies

she's been here for a week and needs to go home for a while to sort some stuff out down there, her son still lives with her and although aged 23 goodness knows what state the house is in by now lol

as she left she said 'don't bother washing the sheets on my bed, I'll be back before you know it'

bless her, I don't even have to ask and she's such a star

alittlebitshy · 06/08/2008 18:18

that's great! is dh doing ok with you and the girls??
