Big congrats to SazzleA great name for your dd2 ( biased as its my daughter's name )...

Back from hospital... baby growth has slowed down she weighs approx 6 8oz which isn't too bad but they want to induce me tomorrow...

dh very nervous about induction so is being a bit of a PITA at the mo.. he is scared about the risks... i am bricking it too ...

i have been having painful contractions on and off since the sweep this am so am hoping and praying that things happen on their own tonight....

Sorry for the me post again ladies xxxxxxxxxxx

oopsacoconut · 12/08/2008 17:45

Sarah Hugs for you and DH - fingers crossed things get started and she comes of her own free will. If not hope induction goes well and it is a quick and not too painful.

Sibh · 12/08/2008 17:51

Hope the sweep is working Sarah.
Hope DH is ok too--I know my DH found the early stage of DD's birth a bit traumatic because of flashbacks to the scary bits of DS's arrival. He was fine after a bit of a wobble though and great when labour got really started.

FoghornLeghorn · 12/08/2008 17:54

Sarah Hopefully if you do have to be induced the sweep this morning would've helped move things along nicely so the induction process wont be too bad tomorrow. Do you have a time to go in ?

Albs Both of my DD's have been dummy girls right from the word go - if it works for you then do it ! I've also got 2 in my hospital bag

sarahnh · 12/08/2008 18:04

fhlh.. have to ring delivery suite by 8am tom to make sure they have a bed for me... have been having contractions every 10 minutes for nearly an hour now.. not much i know but praying that i can do this by myself!!!xxx

FoghornLeghorn · 12/08/2008 18:09

Well the contractions definitely sound good! I am definitely you will get to meet your little one very soon

TwilightSurfer · 12/08/2008 18:16

{{{{HUGS}}}} Sarah, it definitely sounds like your sweep is doing a lot more for you than my surprise sweep has done for me. Contractions every 10!!! Good Sign!! Make sure you're resting, getting plenty of fluids, and keeping something nurishing in your belly. You'll need your strength no matter what happens. You are in my thoughts and here's some too.

OOOOOOoooo double the vibes.....must be some magic working around MN for Sarah today.

poppysocks · 12/08/2008 18:29

Congratulations sazzles and welcome Emma!

Sounds promising sarah. Am sure that all progress you're making now is good in preparing you for induction... if it comes to that!

miamla · 12/08/2008 19:01

yay sazzles congratulations!!

my little man here is absolutely adorable but still on hourly feeds. We've been banished to the spare room which is actually better for everyone because DP getting enough sleep to stave off grumpiness and keep me fed/watered during the day.

foghorn so sorry to hear about your chicken pox blues

albs you really shouldn't feel guilty about trying a dummy. if it saves your nips and means you can feed for longer, why not i say and i'm not a fan of dummies either

hmm, i had other messages to write on here but started typing this an hour ago and can't remember what i was going to say now!

miamla · 12/08/2008 19:24

sarah more positive vibes flying over to you from the miamla household x x

dizz you poor thing. any news from your dad? at least he is getting checked out at the hospital. positive vibes and hugs coming your way too

we weighed DS this evening. he was 8lb 4 at birth and he's 8lb 5 today (he's 13 days old)
Very chuffed with him!

CaptainCaveman · 12/08/2008 19:45

Hi guys, sorry I haven't posted but I have been feeling so miserable it just isn't funny. Past 2 days I have done little else but cry . Given my history with ante-natal depression I am not taking any chances, so have been to gp today and she has increased my meds saying that my current dose is "chicken feed"!
It may be just normal post-natal hormones but knowing how quickly I can feel ill with anxiety/depression I really don't want it to spiral. Thankfully my gp knows me well and is very understanding .

Hope to be feeling somewhere near normal tomorrow and catch up properly.

Congrats sazz and bealcain xxx

alittlebitshy · 12/08/2008 19:47

cavey me too re crying. I need to go to gp cos i ignored pnd last time...
hugs and chocolate xxx ps did you ask gp about those headaches and get thet bp checked?

alittlebitshy · 12/08/2008 19:51

sarah hope you do start off by yourself - but if not all the luck in the world for tomorrow. that's an ok wieght - really it is. think how much easier to deliver than a 9lber too (am i being helpful?)
xzz

CaptainCaveman · 12/08/2008 19:53

what do you know albs, headaches gone today but will get mw to check bp tomorrow. Get theeto the gp too!!!

alittlebitshy · 12/08/2008 19:57

am glad about headaches.

yes yes i know about dr - but as much as anythng i cna;t face sititng for hours in waiting room with ds and potentially having to feed. I feed best in the comfort of my own chair.

TwilightSurfer · 12/08/2008 19:59

CAPTAIN {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} ALBS {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}

I know I'll be right where you guys are in a few days. Meds are on hand. Chocolate needs to be restocked though. Oddly spagetti always helps me too.

Remember we are all here for you so don't feel like you're bothering anyone if you need to come on here and chat. Baby blues are natural but can be crushing when mixed with normal downs.

Walk in the fresh air. Buy a travel magazine and dream on exotic locations. Give DH's the kids and go get an ice cream cone. Jump in a puddle. Or just do like Oops and walk out into your garden NAKED!!!

OP posts:
PetitFilou1 · 12/08/2008 20:15

hugs to albs and captain - take care of yourselves. PND is not to be taken lightly so I think I think if you know yourselves well enough to think you are heading that way it is important to take it seriously. albs I ignored it too first time (didn't get it second time round fortunately) I really wish I hadn't in hindsight.

miamla re hourly feeds. How long is each feed taking? I would be going mad by now! Every 2 1/2 hour is about my limit (when it is 40 minutes a time) Glad he is doing well and you seem very happy still.

dizzy any news????

miamla · 12/08/2008 20:17

i agree with TS, noone should feel like they can't come on here to share their woes

some great ideas of fun stuff to do. perhaps we should have a mass running in the garden naked one evening. i vote for a rainy night after a sunny day. we can place bets on who will have the police on their doorstep first!

dizzydixies · 12/08/2008 21:13

right, dad is home, thank god. he's had several ECGs and tests which have confirmed its not been a heart attack - ffs, if it had been a fecking heart attack I would've expected them to phone an amb not tell him to get a lift into hosp

anyway - he's to go back again tomorrow for more tests, treadmill & lung capacity etc - he has problems with his chest - emphasima & bronchitis - which he's had for years now so it could be related to that or it could be anxiety as a result of loosing mum or it could be something completely different again

but, good news thats he's out none the less

CC have spent days in tears with tears & snot dripping down face whilst trying to feed - am glad you have good GP and take all the support where you can

I have HV tomorrow who is aware of all the circumstances and has already kindly reassured me they'll not lock me up once my post natal questionnaire has been done

sarah hope you're too busy pacing and couting to be reading this but good luck either way

miamla Dylan has been feeding what seems like ALL day latches on, falls asleep and when moved gets angry again - have given her to dh to try to get her over as I think relates me to milk and the boobies are EMPTY

as for police on doorstep re naked garden running I can guarantee you it would be me

TwilightSurfer · 12/08/2008 21:14

I'm with Miamla but really don't care whether it's raining or not just like the idea of running naked in the moonlight. Could even pop down to the lake for a swim. Haven't done that since..........TMI!

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 12/08/2008 21:17

Dizzy {{hugs}} glad your dad is home. If I were a betting person I'd say he's dealing with anxieties. Of all the problems I think that would be the easiest for all of you to manage. Fingers crossed.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 12/08/2008 21:19

TS am not convinced he's not just attention seeking

alittlebitshy · 12/08/2008 21:22

re naked running.

miamla hourly feeds - as in hour from start of one to start of next? sometimes Henry like that too... today mostly been a bit better (though didn't get up til 1pm) and used dummy for a few mins ata time this eve (think it will work for short spells when he learns not to let go of it lol).

dizzy we just smell of milk don't we, us mummies?

right - of to bed if master H lets us. hope it's not anothe rone like last night cos my positioning seriously falters in bed....

sarah good luck aagin.

xxx to all
