TS absolutely agree with you. There's things a girl wants to do in private and a bum soak is most definitely one oif them! DP has made it as far as being allowed to talk to me through the bathroom door!

albs sorry to hear you're feeling low. Give me a call if there's anything I can do to help or even if you just want a chat. I completely sympathise on the tiredness front.I'm past being overtired esp after walking 2 miles today.

As for the coffee morning thing, our first outing alone went well. Nobody tried to steal theo and we made it home before the rain really started.good job because I haven't worked out how to do the raincover yet! Not sure whether they're really my type of people.they were all a bit "yummy mummy". We'll see, perhaps I'll drag preg1 along to the next one! albs you're obviously welcome too if you fancy coming our way one thurs morning.

Sazzles you make me laugh.

Well ladies I've got to admit I'm feeling pretty rough at the moment. I have this tight band that won't release wrapped around the top of my baby bump. I've had it a couple times before and I think I've finally figured out what it is.....I think it's the belly pulling downward each time LO drops because I feel like she's dropped YET AGAIN. My legs, ankles and feet are so very swollen...this happened with DD1 the day before I gave birth. I've sounded like a broken record every day for three weeks now BUT this may be the night....just might have my baby on 08/08/08 after all. Until later......

Hi all just checking in - TS sorry to hear you're not feeling great. Not surprising really I guess, you've had a tiring time of it.

Wide awake again grrr. Heartburn killing. You'd think after only three hours sleep I'd be able to sleep but apparently not

Still up here too. Contractions about 7 mins apart and not quite lasting a minute so a way to go. Hoping they keep creeping up slowly though so that we don't have to get DD and our friends up to get her looked after. If I can just hold on until 6 think we should be ok...

Still can't believe that this might actually be it. Waters - check; show - check; contractions - some. Absolutely knackered though after hardly any sleep last night and none at all since, not helped by DH's snoring - great timing! So, rather disappointing if the contractions pack up and go home, but at least I could catch up a bit before section on Monday.

Hope things do move for you today TS and sleep comes your way AnnVan.

I told DP ealier about feeling horny, he just smiled and said it was my hormones! Guess I won't be getting any for a little while then!

I'm up too. Had a couple of bits of small show earlier, woke up at 1:30am with a big show and a contraction.

Contractions every 10 minutes since then. How close together do they get and how long should they last ?

More importantly when do you ring the midwife ?

Hi babieseverywhere. How are you getting on now? Mine are further apart - around 10 mins but starting to last for longer and are coming more frequently if I move around. As I really want to keep it quiet for a while longer so that we don't need to wake DD before going to the hsopital, I'm lounging on the sofa. Either that or this is going nowhere!

I have an appointment at the hospital at 2pm anyway, so will go to that, unless things have stepped up a lot before that. Hoping it will have as I will be so tired otherwise.

Ann, you might need to try a warm shower and a small dose of Benadryl in order to get some real sleep.

Babies, every body is different....every labour is different. Your 10 minute contractions may jump to 2 minute ones in an instant...leaving you to give birth in who knows how much time. {{{hug}}} Hang in there and call the MW whenever you feel like it....that's what she's there for.

ME...I'm up BUT only because MIL decided to stop and speak to me on her way to the kitchen a few mintues ago. Seems she could tell I was asleep since I was sitting full up on the sofa...SNORING! I'm still very very uncomfortable with the baby so low she's dangling a white flag out my asking for help. Heartburn is HORRIBLE so I'm drinking some peppermint tea. Tummy is still tight, moreso while sitting here. DH told me before he went off to bed that he's ready to hold Reese and see her smile...and see me smile again too so if I was going into labour tonight he was ALL FOR IT. {{{pregnant pause}}}} now i'm crying. Will try to go back and sleep a bit more while I can. I promise to post if anything BIG happens and we head off to maternity.

Mine are getting closer together, pool is up and full, not sure whether to get in yet.

Every contraction I want to get in the pool, when it stops I think better not get in too soon it might slow things down.

babieseverywhere - hadn't realised you were going for home waterbirth. Lucky you! Don't suppose there's any harm in calling the MW - even if just to ask her when you should call her (iyswim!).

I'm booked for a section on Monday having had a rough time with DD (undiagnosed breech) - hence appointment at hospital for pre-op meeting this afternoon. If I end up with a VBAC it will have to be at the hospital with lots of monitors etc . Better safe than sorry though I suppose.

I had a bad birth last time and they wanted me to be in hospital with loads of monitored, that is why I wanted to try a home birth instead So I hope we both get better births this time around.

The local midwifes are not being very supportive of my decision which is why I don't want to ring them too early.

babies - you might want to be careful about getting into the pool just yet. I'm no expert, but I've heard getting in too early slows things down.

TS - Benadryl. WIll have to see if I can get some. I'm getting desperate now.

Things seem to have slowed down here . Just as I've lost a full night of sleep and it's now getting light. Think I'll have a wander around, although rather too tired to now. Hey ho.

Ah, again I'm not an expert, but I think you probably ought to be ringing the mw soon. I was told to call when contractions are 5 mins apart and lasting one minute. Not sure if it's the same for a home birth though!

I am in two minds, don't want to wait too late to call them but don't want them here too early. I like the house being empty (except DH and DD is off with GP)
