Urgh. Morning sickness had stopped but has now restarted with a vengence today. I had noticed that every time I walk into the kitchen I feel sick, I've tried cleaning it within an inch of it's life in case I was just being overly sensitive to smells and there was something dodgy... but it's still really bad and have just started avoiding the room!

Obviously this hasn't led to me eating particularly balanced breakfasts and lunches, and DP has been running around feeding me and clearing up, which I feel really bad about as don't really feel like I'm pulling me weight in the house. Anyone else feeling truly pathetic? I think it's worse because I keep thinking you're not ill you're pregnant, everyone else manages, just get on with it! And proceed to totally fail to cope.

dinny · 09/08/2008 09:48

yeah, sympathies, mine is still so bad, especially in the evenings

weighed myself today and have lost over half a stone, bleurgh, look dreadful too, so tired

off on holiday tomorrow, 5-hour train journey with just me and the kids - ARGH

oooh, FF, know how you feel! I jst look ROPEY, very ropey

just can't wait to get to my Mum and Dad's and collapse on a sun lounger (but expect it'll be pissing down!!)

SpookyMadMummy · 09/08/2008 10:48

Thank god for Sea Bands, They have been my saviour.
Only problem is I daren't take them off in case I go back to feeling sick!

laweaselmys · 09/08/2008 12:54

Lol, Okay it's short for La Weasel Mysterioux because everybody knows mysterious weasels are all french. Although I'm not. It's just a nickname which really has no meaning!

My hair went really greasy too, but switched shampoos to a cheap boots normal to greasy hair brand and it keeps it clean for a lot longer if not quite as prettily as my other shampoo did.

I lost one of my sea bands this morning as I tend to go to sleep in them, wake up and take them off because my hands have gone to sleep. Eventually this morning I found it inside one of my DP's pillows?!

Hope you enjoy your holiday dinny!

grinningbee · 09/08/2008 13:29

Afternoon all!

After deserting me for a couple of days my queasiness is back. Yay!

My boobs seem to be having a really achey phase, particularly at night time but it's all good.

Can anyone else feel their "bump" when they put their hand on their tummy? There's nothing showing yet, but I can feel it there.

I'm counting down to Monday afternoon now for the early scan. I can't wait! I have a better feeling this time, although I'm still partly thinking there'll be nothing there... lol.

Hope you're all doing well. Off now to see if a cuppa soup will sort out the icky feeling.

TantiK · 09/08/2008 15:27

Hi everyone - a newbie here. Am due 29th March, already have one ds (31mths) and I live in Rome. Have been putting off joining this thread as I thought that it may be tempting fate, but I gave in! And I'm very glad I did too.

Sorry to hear about everyone feeling so unwell, I already feel differently to when I was pg the first time - I had no symptoms at all and couldn't quite believe it. This time I have been sick once and need to eat almost continuously to stop that sick/hunger feeling! Although the sickness seems to have eased off and I still can't quite believe I am pg. I haven't seen a dr yet, but we are going on Monday. I am intrigued to see how the Italian health system works! I think it is in general very good, but very medical (as opposed to midwife led) - so I'll let you know how I get on with it all. I just want my first scan so that I can see a heart beating!

ds1 has already named the baby 'Doctor' - no idea why, but it is funny so I think the bump will be called Doctor from now on! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

xxxx

Sunnydale · 10/08/2008 08:54

sorry to hear you were sick Spookymadmummy. I haven't been sick yet, just feeling sick, esp in the evening. The only cure for me is eating lots of lard - bread, cheese, chips, pizza, anything. Vegetables repulse me, and I'm normally fairly balanced with my diet. When will you tell your kids? I haven't told my DD either. Not sure what the right thing to do is. She knows something is up as we keep talking about it, but she's only 2.5 so hasn't twigged, obviously. Some mums say to wait until the bump shows? What does everyone think?

SpookyMadMummy · 10/08/2008 09:21

Hi Sunnydale

I think I am the exact opposite of you! The only things keeping me going is lots of fresh fruit!

I plan on telling the Dd's at Christmas... the man in the big red suit has another surprise iyswim...

twocutedarlings · 10/08/2008 10:03

MKG · 10/08/2008 13:11

Good morning everyone and welcome to the newbies!

I've been feeling so terrible these past few days, but muddling through.

I'm ready to just crash (and I've only been awake an hour).

Sunnydale · 10/08/2008 17:31

Is anyone on this thread NOT feeling sick? Go on, give us some cheerful tales of energy and good health! Me, I feel sick as a parrot, but the exhaustion is worse than the sickness in some ways. Also, I feel quite depressed (pre natal depression, anyone?) even though I know I have nothing to be depressed about. It's just the tiredness, I think, and because it takes me every effort to get through the day, I just don't feel I am enjoying life with a spring in my step, as I should be. The torrential rain doesn't help. Sorry to moan everyone. It's tea time now - always a reason to be cheerful...

I go away for less than 36 hours and we have another 3 people join the thread? I swear we must be setting a record....

Am on train to London on way back from neice's christening in York. Lots of babies and kids under 4, running around terrorising the place. Didn't feel a hit of maternal-ness or broodiness. Just exhasperated by them all and the fact i couldn't take me 3PM nap! Hope i like my kid better and some kind of maternal instinct kicks in.

Nobody liked my potential names for the babu either, but then they're all quite traditional (my relatives are, not my name choices).

Can anyone tell i am bored on the train? Ho hum.

Welcome all newbies. Sunny have only really felt tired, not sick presume tiredness is the lesser evil?

Someone post again so i can read something on this never ending train journey.

babyinbelly · 10/08/2008 20:26

Hello if you are still on train journey. Dont worry when i was pg first time couldn't stand toddlers. My own is a bit of a struggle now but as a baby I felt very maternal. It does just come naturally.

laweaselmys · 10/08/2008 20:47

I'm trying to think what interesting thing happened in July that meant we all had so much productive sex.

I think it just happens like that sometimes, the only pregnant people I knew last year (3 of them) all conceived in April.
