Is it out of order to be wanting last night's BBQ chicken in a salad wrap at 10.30am?!? With a big coke....

pregnancy1 · 29/07/2008 10:34

My word - can't believe it's all kicking off & it's still July!
Had my last day at work yesterday and then got taken out for a lovely meal. Got home and my feet were screaming in pain as the skin couldn't accommodate any more stretching! What's the term for when your cankles expand to cover your whole feet?

Right. Got up, have done a wash and hung it up outside (even though I can see it's about to rain). What do I do now? Feel too tired to do anything useful like tidying/cleaning, but am at a bit of a loss without any work to do? Any suggestions?

Good to have you back Albs & good luck everyone who seem about to pop.....

ataraxis · 29/07/2008 10:40

chacha, sorry to hear that DH has been so remiss. You are being very good about it.
Definitely ok to want wrap at this time of day, just consider it brunch, which is a perfectly civilsed meal .

gigglegirl · 29/07/2008 10:44

morning all!

Am still working! aaaarrrrgggggghhhhhhh! Oh well takes my mind off Friday.

Doors are going on at the house today but there is still quite a lot of decorating and furniture shifting to take place, I went and had a look this morning and it will look lovely but not sure I will see the finished article before I go to hospital on Friday

haven't had any breakfast today and am now sat down and can't face getting back up to get anything to eat. I wish there was a breakfast delivery service here I'd love a bacon and egg buttie with runny yolk!

jennylee i think that most people who have had bad induction experiences (me included) would be the first to say that it was because they weren't ready and their bodies were showing no signs of labour and it was their first child. My sister and one of my best friends have both been induced and neither had a problem. Sounds like you just need a jumpstart and I'm sure your body will remember and be fine!

Total denial still about Friday - can't get into my own bedroom to pack although my big knockers were delivered yesterday. PJs and bras haven't arrived at the shop yet and haven't bought pads and food bits!!

Ohh that reminds me did someone have a figleaves code - might have to order an emergency back up by next day delivery!

Hope you're all having a good day.

ChaCha · 29/07/2008 11:09

Thank you Ataraxis - you are most welcome to join me I like you!

GG - You had your big knockers delivered yeterday? Emm....new innovation someone forgot to tell me about? Can see it now....

'Just try these big knockers, easily adjusted and fits all sizes. Makes b/f a breeze and can be left for up to 8 hours while you relax during those frustrating cluster feeds........'

PetitFilou1 · 29/07/2008 11:13

gigglegirl Am also confused about the delivery of the big knockers lol - please explain!

chacha does dh know he forgot your anniversary? If so maybe you'll get some flowers later??? I hope he has the good sense...

ChaCha · 29/07/2008 11:34

PF - Am sure my mother or MIL will send him a text as they did me this morning but TBH since waking he has had to deal with lots so am just waiting to see....

I generally eat humble pie, breakfast in bed would have sufficed or a nice lunch, you know...

There is a lovely breeze today!!!!!

cyteen · 29/07/2008 11:46

I too am intrigued by the big knocker delivery service - think my DP would be very happy to know about that

Good morning to all my fellow maternity balloons...thank god the heat has broken at last, I felt really ill yesterday after being such a nob and going out in the scorch. Had a lovely cool bath, which helped, but then spent several hours drifting in and out of sleep and feeling headachey and anxious. Rotten. I'm not in any hurry to repeat that so you'll all be pleased to hear I haven't even bothered getting dressed yet

On the other hand, I have already managed to nearly burn the fucking house down Put some chickpeas on to boil and then completely forgot about them. I kept smelling burning and thinking "oh, someone's having a bonfire"...the penny eventually dropped and I ran into the kitchen, thankfully only to find a burnt pan and a load of carbonised chickpeas rather than the whole place on fire. What an idiot! It was quite scary - I could so easily have been asleep, or in the shower, or out.

I need a drink

Still, have finally ordered our moses basket and stand, so once that arrives we are pretty much good to go. Say it with me, girls: I will write my birthplan, I will write my birthplan, I will write my birthplan...

Buckets good to see you back again, I was starting to think you were off having your baby! Or at least melted into a post-coital puddle

pregnancy1 · 29/07/2008 12:03

GG just been on a hunt and found it - EVE15PC.Just tried it on a bra in the sale & it gives you free P&P, but no discount. Migth give you a discount on a full price bra though...

FoghornLeghorn · 29/07/2008 12:03

GG Defo intrigued by the big knocker delivery - Tell all
Cyteen Blimey at the chickpeas. Good on you for not get dressed yet though
I have just stripped our bed, put sheets in the wash and re-made with spare bedding ..... now feel like I need another shower

pregnancy1 · 29/07/2008 12:04

Or you could try www.figleavesclearance.co.uk, but you can't search by nursing bras that easily.

FoghornLeghorn · 29/07/2008 12:04

Oh and Happy Anniversary Cha Cha. Hope DH redeems himself later

TwilightSurfer · 29/07/2008 12:08

Jenny, honestly it's not really an induction since your waters have already broken. It would be considered augmentation. At least that's how it would be considered here in the US. When I had DD1 my waters broke at 1am and my contractions just failed to do much so by 10am they started a drip to "augment" the process. I already had an epidural so I have clue whether it was painful or not as I was in complete bliss, falling in and out of sleep, watching tv and chatting with DH. I pushed DD out at 5:20pm. Can't say having the drip was scary or terrible or anything other than GREAT as it got the job done.

Best wishes on a speedy delivery!!

TwilightSurfer · 29/07/2008 12:12

Sarah, I'm with you on the start and stop crap. I've been up and down since midnight cramping and contracting. Things were so bad at 6am (an hour ago) I jumped in the shower and turned the heat up as high as I could stand. Now I'm all clean, ready to head off to the maternity ward, AND THE CONTRACTIONS HAVE EASED!!

gigglegirl · 29/07/2008 12:14

thanks for the codes ladies!

sadly it isn't anything exciting just my crap typing! Sould have said big knickers!

Saying that I do have plenty of knockers to go round - would love mine to be a bit smaller, I'm a caring sharing kind of person so happy for any of you to take some off my hands

I am soooo hungry but don't know what to eat!

actually would really like to be sitting on a patio somewhere in a reclining chair, overlooking beautifiul gardens, drinking a G & T and eating nibbles like king prawns and dips!

anyone want to join me!

ChaCha · 29/07/2008 12:20

OMG Cyteen but LOL at 'bonfire and when the penny finally dropped' Am still laughing to myself, such a classic.

See you all later, Both DS's are shouting 'pooh pooh mama' and nap time is nearly upon us. x

oh to still have a nap time! Mine are up and active all day! bummer

sarahnh · 29/07/2008 12:39

well i am back from mw.. my normal one is on hols this week ( I don't like her) and her stand in was so so lovely... why couldn't i have her all the time???

she said lets do a sweep and see what is going on.. apparently i am only icm dilated but my ervix is favourable???? whatever that means... she said to have lots of sex cos apparently that is the best method ...

so i have decided to get off my high horse and let this poor baby come out when she is ready.. that said i am off in a bit for my waxing and pedicure so hopefully she will enjoy mummy being pampered a little bit!!!xxx

sarahnh · 29/07/2008 12:40

sorry that should say cervix.. cannot type today!!!

TwilightSurfer · 29/07/2008 12:44

Sarah, favorable cervix means it's getting soft. You'll probably spot and cramp the rest of the day. The things we endure....

sarahnh · 29/07/2008 12:47

thanks TS lucky me eh

VintageGardenia · 29/07/2008 13:05

ChaCha no it's not a section it's a possible induction. Will be checked in morning & if all as expected they want to induce me on Thur. Sympathise with you Jenny, I don't want to be induced either. Here it is still considered induction even if your waters have broken. It's the oxytocin or syntocin or whatever you're getting that brings on the contractions. But I feel like sarah, let the baby come when it's ready, not when I'm ready.

pregnancy1 · 29/07/2008 13:28

Just a quick update on Miamla - just got a text from her. Her waters have just broken (just after her midwife appt at the hospital), so she is being monitored on the labour ward. Looks like she might be one of the 5%!

Right, off to lunch with mum now, but will keep you all updated if I hear anything more from her.
