Sazzles, doc said I'd spot but I just thought it'd be a little and no big deal. It's been 10 hours since the exam and I'm still "spotting". Along with the contracting and the cramping....I'm hoping (yet again) this is the final stage before the BIG ARRIVAL.

TwilightSurfer · 28/07/2008 23:10

oh and the sofa is a fine place to sleep if you don't want to move........

Morning all,

Lovely thunder storm last night I was loving it - all that fresh air rushing in through the windows, pure bliss!! DH migrated to the spare room as he was shivering from me having all the windows open he hee

Sat doenstairs by the open patio doors lapping up the cool air - lovely

Blooming shattered but he - at least it's cool

I'm whisking DD off out early this morning for a breakfast treat, thought maybe Bakers Oven, I feel so bad that I haven't so much as taken her for a walk lately good job she's only 2 & won't remember that her mother pretty much didn't leave the sofa for 9 months when PG with her brother!! Bad mummy!!

TwilightSurfer · 29/07/2008 06:55

Up in the USofA!! MrsM, that cool breeze sounds nice. It's been WAY too hot here lately.

Woke up crampy and contracting. Do I sound like a broken record yet? Having a bite of toast and OJ then hopefully back to sleep. Still very tired. I do not want to go into full labor tired.

Realized why this time I feel so much worse than when pregnant with DD1. By the time DD1's head had dropped to where this baby's is right now....I WAS ALREADY FULLY NUMBED BY MY EPIDURAL!!! I just love walking around with a bowling ball dangling between my legs. It was so much nicer being on the bed with pain killers for comfort. Also this constant feeling of needing to poop or pee is DRIVING ME MAD.

Hope everyone else has a more pleasant day.

FoghornLeghorn · 29/07/2008 07:32

Morning all

Jennylee Hopefully things kicked off in the night for you
Twilight That bowling ball feeling is horrible isn't it, I haven't got it this time yet thankfully
MrsMagoo Storm was heaven wasn't it .... My DH got up and shut the windows because the blinds were banging about all over the place
Miamla What are you waiting for ?

Well DD's managed to spend the while night in their own beds thankfully - DD2 did wake at 2.20 but went back off, I was determined not to bring her in with us again.

No, still here and now terrified of nothing happening and being induced with a drip and monitored, extra exreme pain etc.have untill 11.00 so three hours, I really don't want to be induced especially after reading about it on Mumsnet.

sarahnh · 29/07/2008 08:10

morning,

Good luck jennylee, hopefully if you have to be induced it won't be too painful..

hope you managed to get back to sleep TS..

Sazzle, when my dd had her first and only haircut she ended up sitting on knee and i was literally holding her down.. so good luck ...

well i was awake until 4.30am this morning slept til 6.30 and awake again... been having the usual loads of pains getting stronger all the time but no rythm.. seeing the mw today ... does anyone know if you ask them to check to see if you are dilating they will do or is that a big no no?? xxx

FoghornLeghorn · 29/07/2008 08:17

Sazzles You're right, it seems easier at the time to just whip them into your bed and go back off to sleep but it's so much hassle of they get used to it.
JennyLee Don't fret too much about being induced, I never have been but 2 friends have, 1 was with her first baby and although it took a while for contractions to start once she did start contracting she had a very striaght forward average birth - my second friend was induced with her 3rd DS and it only took 1 dose of gel to get her going and it was all over and done with in an hour or so.
It doesn't have to be horrendous.

Jennylee · 29/07/2008 08:19

thanks foghornleghorn

ataraxis · 29/07/2008 08:23

Morning all,

miamla, here's hoping!
ts - likewise...
jenny, good luck for today.

oops - very impressed that your DH is drinking alcohol free lager. Think that is part of the reason why mine is so keen on a home birth .

MrsMagooo - hope the wedding wasn't too tedious! Think the toast may be a bit cold now so here's a new load, plus some waffles in case people fancy something sweet,

Haven't had a chance to read through much of the millions of posts but do see no more babies - hope everyone is ok.

dizzy, i hope you are doing well, was thinking of you yesterday. Sending you big hugs for whenever you feel the need for them.

PetitFilou1 · 29/07/2008 09:00

Sazzles Is dd having a haircut in a hairdresser or at home (mine have theirs done at home - in front of tv and often with a lolly!) They have had loads of haircuts now and are fine about it but I've never taken them to a hairdresser so good luck!

Jenny Being induced is not that bad I don't think - just tends to be fast and intense (from experience of my friends). My labours are like that anyway and it is ok - honest. Better than labouring for hours and hours, not getting anywhere and ending up totally exhausted after 36 hours or something like some people do.

Just a quickie - will be back when finished making bread.

Morning!

oops thanks so much for posting on prayer thread for me, I really appreciate that . Dutchoma has sent me two knitted cardigans for 'Jerry', they are the cutest thing ever!

sazz I forgive you for accusing me of things I didn't say/do - I know I find it hard still to bear the scars of work colleagues who don't get you so much As a card When you go on mat leave. It makes me suspicious and accusatory too....

TS Jennylee & miamla Praying that today is the day your babies are born!!

Buckets · 29/07/2008 09:53

Woohoo I'm back! Our pc died at the weekend and DH arrived home with a new laptop last night so I have just spent the last hour setting it up (Mumsnet first stop of course.) Scuse typing- new keyboard and wtf do you do with a finger pad? Have plugged in old mouse[blush.

Can't believe how lazy all these babies are!!! Mine is still showing no signsof exodus, his movements have slowed down so much, the BHs are now so tame and he's so low I forget he's there most of the time. Seeing MW tomorrow to confirm he still is there.
Gotta set up new printer now then at some point try and catch up. Hope you're all well and happy as can be.

PetitFilou1 · 29/07/2008 10:01

If anyone is interested I've bought three bf tops from www.bellamama.co.uk - will let you know if they look ok. Now better go and do some tidying etc

OP posts:
Lcy · 29/07/2008 10:20

Jennylee - good luck today. I would find possible induction very scary but it sounds like you have a good midwife (read your other thread). As people have said above - induction is not always terrible - my friend was induced and said the labour really wasn't too bad. Focus on meeting your beautiful baby.

I really enjoyed the storm last night because the tempreture dropped so dramatically. It is cool this morning and my feet are slightly less swollen than yesterday.

Hope everyone else is ok

ChaCha · 29/07/2008 10:26

Morning girls,
The weather last night was fantastic! Enjoyed some head space just watching the rain and feeling the breeze through open windows. Was much needed.

VG - Is your section also scheduled for Thursday!? Or did i just read the stats wrong...

DH has forgotten our anniversary I have tuned in to my understanding side though and realise he has a lot on and is trying to fit in lots of work before Thursday as customers are demanding and he is v.stressed [pats halo on head] and so anniversary not taking priority at moment....will log on every so often and read this passage while taking deep breaths....
Mum can't come until tomorrow so no chance of meal out either, i think i am feeling sorry for myself and should really exert some energy into the ongoing saga that is hospital bag.

CC - Glad you're home. Buckets - Had wondered where you are - Where is Bealcain - wasn't induction date yesterday, i think i got that wrong.

JennyLee - My induction wasn't successful but on a positive note three of my very good friends were induced and had their babies naturally with no problems whatsover. Best of luck.

Sazzles, Oops, PF, everyone [big wave]

Starting to panic, GG - sorry to hear about hacker but hope you get things sorted asap, time is running out!!!!
