See i'm asleep

Mrsmagoo - do you post on any other boards - you 'sound' familiar? Also you refer to your baby as E as in Elijah? or have I gone mad and you are not who I think you might be?

Sounds like you know me Oops as yup that's DS's name

ChaCha EDD by me (BBT charting) & consultant is 2nd, by MW is 5th

Am now sat in garden - dark as anything but nice & cool

Anyone else heard weather supposed to turn to rain on Tues/Weds??

ChaCha · 27/07/2008 22:36

Mrs Magoo - couldn't find you on first stats on the list but i think you joined later and can't locate newest one. I emailed my consultant about having an earlier section mainly due to the SPD and as long as it was after the 38+5 he said that was fine - have been using crutches and support belt for weeks now and remember that feeling of lowliness when i thought the original date was set in stone. Do you see a physio? Was thinking that their notes might help you in getting earlier sweep. Easy to see cheer up because i know how you feel but honestly hope you have a comfortable night and things may seem better in the morn.

Well, i'm darned if i'm going to bed. The night has only just begun.....

oopsacoconut · 27/07/2008 22:39

Defo going to bed now - DH in spare room, me in nice fan cooled room, cats in with dh and no need to get up in the morning - so will be up at 6amish then

MrsMagooo · 27/07/2008 22:43

Thanks ChaCha I have my sexy walking stick & fembrace which are both doing bog all.

I explained everything to the MW but her answer was that the later they leave the sweep the better chance it has of working - I told her the one & only sweep I had with DD at 39+4 did the trick but she still wouldn't budge

DH says he has a feeling E will arrive Friday/Saturday (would be odd as with DD I went into labour on Friday she was born Saturday) I pray he's right!

If he's not here on my EDD I'm going to ring the MW unit & pray I find a sympathetic ear & manage to get one that day!!

ChaCha · 27/07/2008 22:50

That's the spirit
Seeeeeeeeeee!!!!

LOL Oops - love the 'me in nice cool room' - such luxury! I will be heading to my cool corner when i am shattered enough to actually sleep regardless of how and where.

Nitey everyone x

MrsMagooo · 27/07/2008 22:56

Night ChaCha

I have got myself comfy in the nice cool garden so can't be bothered to shift my rather sizeable bum for a while

Xx

gigglegirl · 27/07/2008 23:11

oooohhhh it is too too hot here!

I'm having section at 38 + 1 but that is only because I am a walking catalogue of obstetric problems!!

If this heat doesn't go I will need a skin graft as I have ripped so much off my leg I'm sure I can feel bone!

And hips and pelvis are so painful I feel like screaming!

I am actually looking forward to "only" having to wake up to feed the baby! Just hope my recovery from section is good.

libbyssister · 27/07/2008 23:56

Hi everyone, another long break from MN for me... sorry

Congratulations on the babies, so pleased that they've 'started'.

Sorry to hear about your mum Dizzy. What a strange time for you.

All's well here. Getting prepared, bags mostly packed, pram has arrived (I know, I know it shouldn't be in the house but where else can it go??), the old pushchair was collected by someone from Freecycle today. I've got my cheapo ebay moses basket(£10 mamas and papas bargain) and have started to double up when I cook to get some meals in the freezer.

But I'm quite happy for the bub to stay in there, as I'm 'only' 36 weeks and it doesn't feel anywhere near 'time' yet.

Off to Worthing tomorrow for some sea air and to see some relatives. Looking forward to some time on the pepples with DS.

If I don't get back on here before the end of the week, good luck with your CSs and inductions, I'll be thinking of you xx

Expectant · 28/07/2008 06:27

Hi All,

Thanks for the messages re enemas and shaving - didn't get to look in again after my early morning post. My doctor has never mentioned it so I'm hoping she doesn't require it. Have appt tomorrow anyway so will double check with her then and tell her no!

Hope the weekend wasn't too hot for you all.

Can't believe I subjected myself to another week at work. It's too hot and I'm too tired.

DIZZY Sending you and your family {{{HUGS}}} and Prayers today.

Out for a swim in a bit when DH heads for the gym - my boss has a pool and seen as they are away I thought I might take advantage.

Sazzles - hope your mw is sympathetic to your cankles. BTW Where the tea???? I made fresh pain au chocolat - any takers?

FoghornLeghorn · 28/07/2008 07:51

Sazzles Good luck with your apt today
Dizzy Thinking of you today, hope everything goes as well as it possibly can x
MrsMagoo The 11th is my EDD and does feel like an age away so you definitely have my sympathy.

Another horrendous night sleep in Chez FHLH . I was up from about 1 with heartburn, 4 Gaviscon later and still no joy I was just sat up in bed staring into space, finally dosed off at about 3, DD1 woek DD2 up at 3.30 after putting their bedroom light on. Ended up with DD2 in with me, DH got in with DD1 (she was scared after a bad dream, hence the light being on). DD2 finally went off just as it started getting light and then up for the day at 6.45. Could've really done with a good nights sleep as DH working today and I've got my 2 year old nephew for the day as well as my 2 horrors angels

ChaCha · 28/07/2008 08:59

Thinking of you today Dizzy.
LibbySister - Good to see a post, sounds lovely, have much fun!
Foghorn - WoW! A taste of 3 under 3 for you then today - at least they are all at ages where they can hopefully entertain each other to some extent. Sorry to hear of another sleepless night, hope your day is ok.

So pleased all is well CC and you'll be going home today.

Thinking of you today Dizzy. Hope it's warm enough over there for the flip flops. Thick, thick haar here.

Good to see you Libbysister.

How exciting ChaCha and gg. So exciting that this is your week. Any other takers I wonder....

Do I detect the whiff of a pain au chocolat? Perfect way to start the week.

cyteen · 28/07/2008 09:23

Foghorn my sympathies, poor you Rubbish sleep is rubbish.

I have woken up feeling utterly crap, although can't really blame a bad night's sleep as we shut the cats in the kitchen last night for a bit of p+q...I just feel incredibly sick and sluggish. It's probably all the heat of the last week, but it's a bit annoying as I have lots to do today and am not sure I'll be able to do it all [wuss emoticon]

Hi libbyssister Great to see you back, due date buddy!

Lcy · 28/07/2008 09:24

Hello

I haven't posted for ages but now on maternity leave and would like to join you again if you don't mind.

I have had a quick read through the thread - glad to see you are all doing ok (despite the hot weather and pregnancy related problems). Congrats to those who have had babies. I can't believe we will all have babies soon!

I am 38.2 weeks pregnant now and generally doing well apart from very swollen feet and carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand (i drop everything!). Baby was breech until 37 weeks but has now turned and i am back on course for my homebirth - birth pool in a box should be arriving today.

cyteen · 28/07/2008 09:30

Hi Lcy, welcome back Glad to hear that things are progressing well for you, apart from the carpal tunnel thing. I've not had anything that serious but have been extra specially prone to pins and needles, which is a bit annoying as I keep waking up with dead hands and can't kneel down (to help baby into optimum position, I hasten to add ) for longer than two minutes without my feet going numb.

That's great that your LO has turned as well - I'm hopefully booking my homebirth this week but am a bit anxious as my baby has been breech for most of the pregnancy. Since last seeing the mw he did turn, but I've got a funny feeling he's turned back again, just in time for her to no doubt encourage me down the growth scan/EVC/possible c-section route. So it's really encouraging that yours has turned this late

cyteen · 28/07/2008 09:31

Sorry, that should read ECV, not EVC...stupid fingers.
