Bealcain - When are you being induced, have forgotten? Is it tomorrow?

Oops - Ikea on a Friday night?! We did that last week and i think the week before (mirrors for bathroom cabinets were all cracked so we had to return) - was sooooo exhausting. DH got hold of a chair and carried it round the self service area so i could sit down between aisles I was shattered... good luck if you do go though, my DH hates IKEA with a vengeance, we have very different tastes so that was probably last trip of the year anyway. I bought a good few of those storage system things and baskets to get rid of all the lying around stuff.

Can't remember what else i wanted to say. I had 4 hours broken sleep much better than the 2 night before.

DH's birthday tomorrow, going to make him a nice breakfast and take him out for dinner if i physically can - got him cards from us all and mum has just taken the boys out to get a cake - enough isn't it?

Suppose i will go and put feet up clean while DC are with mum.

x

bohemianbint · 25/07/2008 10:39

Have you ever noticed that all the women in Ikea are pregnang? Went to the one in Ashton the other week, on a Thursday afternoon, and literally, not a single non-preggo in the shop...

bohemianbint · 25/07/2008 10:40

Pregnang? Should really preview before posting...

MrsMagooo · 25/07/2008 10:55

Morning all - goodness me it's hot again eh?!

Well I think I successfully managed 2 hours broken sleep last night.

I can't tell you how fed up I am with all these stomach pains & back aches rolls eyes

cyteen · 25/07/2008 11:01

Morning all

Got to post and run again as am homeward bound today, yay! But good to catch up with you all.

Massive congrats to Voodoo and albs, continued best wishes for Ilana and little Saul, deepest condolences to all the dixie clan. The circle of life eh, always a mystery.

Just noticed that someone has mentioned it being better for baby to be on left rather than right side - anyone know more about it? El Squid has been living on my right side for months now, the other night he was apparently trying to burrow all the way round to the back Awkward sod.

PetitFilou1 · 25/07/2008 11:03

Hello Cyteen - wondered where you had got to!

Ds is ill again - taking him to the Dr in 1/2 hour. This week I will have managed three visits to NHS residences - one for me, one for dd and one for ds. And I am back next Tuesday. Might as well set up camp

TwilightSurfer · 25/07/2008 11:04

Petitfilou, you have extremely good taste. Those are the two bags that I have my eye on. DH keeps asking me why I need another, though. He's reminded me several times already how wonder DD1's bag is/was. I then show him all the wear holes as it's 4.5 years old and has been VERY used in that time....actually it's still in use for DD1. I'll get my way but he has to try now doesn't he.

36+6 TODAY!! Crampy pains all night. Baby popping out at every angle due to lack of room. Today would be a good day to deliver. Tomorrow would be fine as well. Even Sunday for that matter would benefit me. JUST GET IT OUT ALREADY!!!!!!

Platter of burnt toast to go with kettle of tea. (Sorry wasn't paying attention)

CaptainCaveman · 25/07/2008 11:58

bealcain I think that the mws round here are also supposed to pay attention to the '20 above' for diastolic readings. My booking appt was 90/55 and today's is 129/79. Mw not really concerned, nor was she bothered about the super swollen cankles and calves (and hands). Then again, this is the same mw whom I saw before I ended up going in to hosp a few weeks ago, who said my shortness of breath and generally feeling unwell was prob due to anxiety - in other words I don't have much faith in her!

I no longer have fingers - they are officially sausages!! .

Right, am off to play at my friends house (well the kids will play, we will gossip in the sunshine )

laters x

Utterly shattered here, despite (whispering...) another great night's sleep. I'm honestly not being too smug as am usually a total insomniac. Am SURE it won't be long until that returns.

Sorry to hear about all the people feeling rough. Technically not long now, but sometimes feels like an age doesn't it?

DH disappeared to the airport at 6am for work and then a wedding tomorrow of an old friend. V. , but will be nice for him before he's tied to home for a good while once he gets back . Was slightly surprised to hear that he's not even getting a flight home until late on Sunday afternoon, but not going to make a fuss. May well have to bring up the subject of the drinking when he gets back. Am sure that a part of his reason for being so pro the elective section is so that he won't miss out on several weeks of drinking time as I don't think either of us are entertaining any thought of this baby turning up pre-section date.

TwilightSurfer · 25/07/2008 12:56

Thanks Captain. I am official adopting British Summer Time!! Am I term yet??

VintageGardenia · 25/07/2008 12:56

Hi all. Absolutely shattered today! Took ds fishing yesterday (fruitless) and to visit my mother, was nice but though was not exactly day of adventure sports am wrecked. Complain, complain, my knuckles are stiff like elderly lady's, ankles & feet monstrous, face puffy, pain in pelvis, hot hot hot (not in a good way) and generally FED UP.

Boo hoo.

Doc this morning, if nothing moving by next Wed they think perhaps to induce on Thur. Was not what I'd wanted but there you go. I was induced with DS and didn't exactly enjoy it. Boo hoo again.

pf sorry your ds is unwell, last thing you need really, esp with a grumpy dh.

TBH I'm surprised my DP has not been grumpier, rantier, sulkier, he has come very low on the list the last month or so. I do sometimes think it must be very difficult for the blokes, being so far off the centre of the action, yet so required, and often not really understanding what they're supposed to be doing.

ChaCha nice for you to be getting the JM kit! Lucky duck. I've not used the hair products, I'm sure they smell divine even if they don't make your hair silky smooth! I think a nice special breakfast, cards and a cake is a nice celebration - even without going out to dinner. Happy birthday to him!

Sibh glad you've got your bed back! I'd have been like a bag of cats without my bed this last week. Sorry to hear you've got the pelvic stabs as well, it's so horrible.

CC glad you are ok for the mo.

bealcain nice to have a bit of time to yourself!

Sazzles lucky you having a swim! I'd looooove a swim but haven't been allowed for weeks and weeks. I HOPE you didn't spoil your nice new hair.

I am not even sure I have read everyone's posts, that's how sludgy my brain is today.

TwilightSurfer · 25/07/2008 12:56

11 more hours I guess

VintageGardenia · 25/07/2008 12:58

Hey TS.

TwilightSurfer · 25/07/2008 12:59

morning VG

VintageGardenia · 25/07/2008 12:59

Is it my imagination or did someone on here buy this coat? I was looking at it yesterday - it's reduced reduced reduced! Does anyone think I should get it or is bright yellow too risky? I don't think I have a single other item of clothing in yellow.

TwilightSurfer · 25/07/2008 13:00

Captain did.

VintageGardenia · 25/07/2008 13:00

Sorry, should really have put that in Style & Beauty, has nothing to do with pregnancy!

PetitFilou1 · 25/07/2008 13:00

TS I know, I know (looks down modestly) Sadly I can't get away with buying a new one as bought a new one when had dd...

CC Mw sounds useless. So far I seem to have seen good ones - fingers crossed...

Someone please tell me how to entertain these two for the rest of the afternoon please.......aaargh. Where are the home educators when you need them

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 25/07/2008 13:01

Ahh CC twas you? How did you find the coat for quality, fit, etc? When you come back from your sunshiny gossip!

TwilightSurfer · 25/07/2008 13:02

I could order it too and we could all plan a meet-n-greet......all showing up in our fancy coats like a secret society club.

PetitFilou1 · 25/07/2008 13:02

VG Great coat - get it! I've got a red Boden raincoat with white flashes on it and still wear it (from 3 years ago) although I have a plainer one too as it doesn't go with everything either.

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 25/07/2008 13:04

Do you think? It's only £23 which is good. I wonder am I going to look v conspicuous this autumn in a canary coat with my ketchup coloured pram!

VintageGardenia · 25/07/2008 13:05

I love the idea of a thread uniform!
