I can't sleep anymore. SPent ost of last night going to the toilet and trying to turn over with pillows in bed.

Gave up at 5am and got up for the day....I need to sleep. On the bright side the houswe is looking straighter than it has in weeks

BabiesEverywhere · 25/07/2008 06:40

Opps, 'SPent ost' should be 'Spent most'

Good Morning

Expectant · 25/07/2008 06:48

Morning all - don't suppose anyone about yet.

Congrats to Albs and Voodoo

Dizzy - sorry to hear your news.

TS hope you managed to get some sleep.

I have horrible itchy legs (shins mainly). Had managed to scare myself sh*tless that I have OC by googling it (always a mistake). Bump was a little quiet last night so that didn't help the panic. Called the doctor this morning and as usual she was reassuring. Having my leaving drinks and dinner tonight only 5 more days of work to go

FoghornLeghorn · 25/07/2008 07:05

Morning all
Been up since 5.30 with DD2, little horror.

DH is a courier and thinking of sending him up to the outter hebrides or something .... my theory being, if he's a million miles away I might go into labour - whaddya reckon ????

Expectant · 25/07/2008 07:10

Oh dear preggie brain means I can't work out the time difference so I suppose only reasonable that some of you would be up at 7am!

oopsacoconut · 25/07/2008 07:35

Morning All

Thanks for the tea - just filled out sparkley new Brita filter kettle and found there was tea here already!

Well finally the last day of work has arrived, I have worked as hard as I can to train my moron but i fear it is not going to work out - BUT I have finally come to terms with the fact that it is NO longer my problem - said my goodbyes to my Class, where I am a TA, at school too yesterday - got lots of lovely baby things and a few pamper vouchers for massages, manicures and pedicures. I think they are saying I'm a mess!!! Now to see what work does - I bank on NOTHING - they still think i will change my mind and come back.

This baby seems to have taken up contortionism (sp??) (is it even a word??) And there is a lump sticking out just below my ribs - could be a bum but am terrified she has unengaged and it's a head.

Will try catch up later but not sure what time I will get back from work and for some reason DH thinks Ikea would be a good plan on a Friday night!

Hmm, all this nesting going on... I got a sudden impulse to strip my bed at 10pm last night, does that count or was that just the heat?

TS I've consistently got a pair of feet sticking out my side, lump about the size of a chicken egg. So weird when you poke it and it pokes back then vanishes. Apparently facing out left is better than facing out right though, birthwise, can't remember why exactly.

PetitFilou1 · 25/07/2008 09:02

Morning
Hello Buckets - funnily enough dh built an Ikea chest of drawers last night but was still in a foul mood. He has too much work on and is too tired from a week of nights followed by a week of days on call (the JR in Oxford is VERY busy) He said he is going to put up the garage shelves on Sat morning. So the children still won't see him... Not much I can do though as it does need doing. Ho hum.

TS I love those bags - I like the stripes but the botanical azure one particularly and that is the one I'd have bought.

Morning, I foolishly brought my cup of tea with me, completely forgetting one of you nice ladies would have already brewed up

pf in answer to yesterdays question, NO, I cannot get my shoes on! Think I may be walking barefoot to see the mw this morning. Woke up with a headache too. I read in one of the pg 'bibles' that although a bp diastolic reading of over 90 was usually the point where they get concerned, they should also consider anything 25-30 above your normal reading as 'high', so maybe this is why the senior reg I saw yesterday wants the mw to keep an eye on it (that and the huge feet!).

congratulations ALBS and mrALBS on the safe arrival of Henry! I hope you are all doing ok, and that you got some sleep ALBS?

What's that miamla, are you pregnant? You should have said something! How far gone are you now?

CaptainCaveman · 25/07/2008 09:16

Re Ikea. 3 of my friends swear by it as a labour-inducing trick. They had their babies weeks apart but the common denominator was a trip round Ikea followed by labour starting a few hours later!! Might be worth a try if you get desperate?

PetitFilou1 · 25/07/2008 09:20

CC Yes actually I think you are right as when they thought I had hypertension (which was actually stress brought on by ds not getting a school place) my diastolic pressure was 90 and it had been /65 or /70 in my previous pregnancies. It was both things they were concerned about at that point! You will have to go out in your slippers soon! (I don't even have slippers)Right better go and do the shopping list now ...

sarahnh · 25/07/2008 09:27

morning ladies... i'm on the water this am too hot for tea and my ankles are like cc's!!!

Big congrats to ALBS and Voodoo on the birth of their beautiful babies.. its starting to feel a bit more real now isn't it..

continued big hugs to dizzy thinking of you..

well my dh has gone on a jollie boys to play golf and stay over so this lo better stay put til tom... he is only going to be 45 minutes away but can you imagine a very drunk dh in the delivery suite with u? yuck!!

my back was aching so much last its never ending.. why cannot i be one of those people who just go into labour without the build up??? so right there with you ts..

well i am following is sazzle footsteps today by going to the hairdressers this am... my bump has dropped so low that my stretcy trousers keep falling down so its going to be an interesting walk there!!

Anyway sorry for massive post i get carried away.... have a good day all xxxxxx

sarahnh · 25/07/2008 09:28

ps didn't realise my spelling and leaving out of words was so bad... sorry

Sausageandmash · 25/07/2008 09:29

A v quick message to say congratulations to ALBS on the birth of henry. Wonderful news! Now, off out with my mother to, "AHHHHHHHHGGHHHH" (That's my can.not.believe. it sort of scream), buy some baby gear. I can't remember what I need - the last time I did this feels like an AGE ago (3.5 years). Have fun today everyone.

CaptainCaveman · 25/07/2008 09:39

I must just sing my dh's praises for a moment....After my moaning about his continuing to drink wine in the evening, thus ignoring the fact this baby might arrive before cs date, he said last night that he is going to make sure he stays within legal driving limit until baby arrives. That is not to say he would ever dream of driving if he wasn't sober!!! I am really very proud of him atm, as with ds1 he just assumed I wouldn't go into labour and luckily I didn't.

bohemianbint · 25/07/2008 10:05

Morning - ooh, people are starting to pop! I'm 37 weeks on SUnday, so as long as the baby doesn't decide to show up before then I should be good to go for another home birth. Am hoping the baby decides to come out a bti early for several reasons; firstly because I can hardly walk as it is, let alone run after a toddler, and secondly, if it comes in August, that means 3 out of 4 of us are August people and a bit of variety would be nice!

So have started on the raspberry leaf tea in hope...

bealcain · 25/07/2008 10:08

good morning all,

i'm a late poster today as have no children >

my mum has them till monday am so happy, still feel bloody tired though, going back to bed in a bit.

Re: pre eclampsia they worry (round ere anyway) if you're diastolic is 20points above your booking reading. So mine at booking was 105/55 and i'm now at 135/85, 30 ponts above!

congrats to ALBS VOODOO and ILANA

i wonder who's next

glad all is reasonably well with people today. i'm going back to bed then getting down on my hands and knees and scrbbing the floors....need to get this head lower ready for induction.

FoghornLeghorn · 25/07/2008 10:10
