Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sparkly08 · 05/08/2008 10:42

Yarnie I didn't have any symptoms with DD apart from feeling quite tired. Try not to worry about it.

I'm not sure whether to take my EDD from my LMP or from ovulation. I might take it from EDD so I get scanned quicker (It's only about 4 days). They can adjust my date them. When do I need to see my GP?

FruitynNutty · 05/08/2008 10:50

I'd make an appointment now. No time like the present! I got my BFP on a Friday and saw the GP the following Tuesday then she sent me straight off for a scan on the Thursday. Although had to return two weeks later for a 2nd scan. Just tell her you have no idea when your last AF was then you'll get a dating scan . Not much point going before 6 weeks though as it will just be a sac.

Sparkly08 · 05/08/2008 11:34

I think I'll do it later on in the week. I'm trying not to think about it too much. It doesn't feel real. I sent my sister a pic of the CBD but then realised that her phone is off. DOH!

FruitynNutty · 05/08/2008 16:41

When does this extreme tiredness end? If it's 12 weeks, I've got another 5 weeks of feeling like poo Having an afternoon nap seems to make me feel worse too but I can't keep my eyes open by the afternoon.

OP posts:
Sparkly08 · 05/08/2008 18:42

That's something to look forward to...I already feel knackered but have never been good at waking up after an afternoon nap. It always makes me feel rubbish.

teeheelaydee · 05/08/2008 19:36

Hi ladies, so as part of the whole positive thing I am here!

Hope there's lots of pg friendly food available. I'm not sure if my tiredness is due to pg or lack of caffiene (sp) I am a bit of an addict and have only had 1 1/2 cups of tea today.

Spoke to my doctors surgery today and they said the midwife team could arrange an early scan so I have to phone them too. Doctor previously said I could have a scan at 8 weeks and I will be on holiday then, I am thinking of waiting until I get back (Wk 9) as otherwise it will be WK 6 and they won't be able to see much. Plus DP won't be there. What do you think?

Sparkly08 · 06/08/2008 08:55

I need to phone my doctors today. It's going to be a long time until I can relax.
I really feel as though I don't want to get too excited - is that normal? I can't really remember anything from DD.

cricri · 06/08/2008 13:01

Sparkly I didn't start to relax at all until after my 12 week scan, although having a scan at 7+3 did take the edge of my anxiety, but I think all that was due to my experience of mmc. It got a bit better after 12 weeks but I still have anxious days. I do think what you are feeling is normal though -after all it's very early days but keep thinking positive and we're here if you need to talk Are you going to have an early scan or wait for the 12-week one?

Sparkly08 · 06/08/2008 13:51

Well I want to have an early scan (esp because I'm convinced it's going to be twins) but DP isn't so sure about going private so I may claim to GP that I don't know how far gone I am. She is aware that I've been having lots of spotting instead of red AFs so I wonder whether that will qualify me for one [cheeky] . I can't stop weeing and I have such a cold!

FruitynNutty · 06/08/2008 14:38

I think an early scan is the way to go Sparkly I don't get the constant weeing thing that everyone seems to get in early pregnancy, I don't have it now and I didn't have it last time. All the books seem to bang on about it too, maybe I'm odd

OP posts:
Sparkly08 · 06/08/2008 14:57

Or maybe you just piss like a camel normally? Do camels even wee a lot? I don't know where I got that saying from? They can go 10 months without a drink so I doubt they wee that much . Can I blame this on babybrain yet?

FruitynNutty · 06/08/2008 14:59

I think it might be drink like a camel piss like a horse?
Actually I'm not sure I do wee a lot. I don't seem to poo much either No wonder I find it hard to keep weight down, I'm full of crap! lol!

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 06/08/2008 15:07

sparkly definately think you should pull a fast one and be very vague about last AF to have an early scan, it will put your mind at rest and we've all had one so you can't feel left out now can you!
fruity I was weeing constantly but now I think I'm too dehydrated to wee Can't find anything I like to drink at the mo, might try some ice lollies

cricri · 06/08/2008 15:13

Fruity I normally wee loads (I drink at least 2 litres of water a day) but I've found that I've been weeing less when pg even though I'm drinking the same amount. Most peculiar. Still, I'm not complaining as it made the long car journeys in France much easier
Hope you don't get constipation - I've had that this pg (sorry, TMI) and it was horrible!
Sparkly Agree you should be vague about your dates. I'm intrigued as to why you think you might be having twins...
Mollie Good to see you How are you feeling?

Sparkly08 · 06/08/2008 15:14

LOL Mollie. I wonder if my GP will send me to the hospital if I tell her I feel left out.
I think it's normal to be constipated in pregnancy fruity.

Sparkly08 · 06/08/2008 15:18

Cricri Well to start with, my mum is a twin (non identical and it usually skips a generation). My dad has twin brothers too. Last week I had a dream that I was trying to breastfeed twins in my kitchen?? And, today when I told my sister (we're very close) she said she had dreamt recently that I had twins. ..not really any concrete reasons but have a feeling. Hope I'm proved wrong.

MollieMooma · 06/08/2008 15:24

Sparkly Twins would be so amazing (well for everyone else but not for you and dh as your the ones that have to cope on a day to day basis) I don't see why GP can't refer you on a "left out" basis, seems perfectly reasonable to me!
CriCri Not been too good monster MS has really got me down, I have no energy, can't keep much down, don't know what I want to eat from one minute to the next. I drag myself into work, back home to the sofa and then to bed. Trying to be grateful I'm pg but it's so hard when you feel so rough! I even passed out on Saturday, and today have come home from work coz I was sick down my top and cried what a pathetic wet blanket!!

FruitynNutty · 06/08/2008 15:25

Maybe that dream I had of twins night before last were your twins Sparkly

OP posts:
teeheelaydee · 06/08/2008 16:56

Ahh Mollie - Hope you are feeling a little better. Instruct DP that you need some serious TLC

Sparkly I think if you explain your very scientific reasons for wanting a scan (ie:all my friends are having one and I think I'm having twins) they will say no prob Seriously I would go along the dating route. (not dating the doctor - pretending you don't know your dates!)

I have had a bit of a wobbly today when midwife booked me a scan for next Fri (I will be 6+5) I thought it would make me feel better but I went into a big freak. Probably because DP is away and won't be there and I am leaving for our holiday on the same day. But mainly because I am scared that it won't work out again. I've decided to go on holiday regardless of outcome and am trying to keep assuming everything is fine rather than not fine.

cricri · 06/08/2008 18:31

Teehee Keep thinking positive - everything will be fine. We're here to support you before next Friday in any case. I'm sure you'll be a nervous wreck when you walk into the scan room (I know I was!) but in the meantime continue with your positive mental attiude. Easier said than done I know...
Mollie Posted for you on the other thread as I realised you'd answered my question there. Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough ATM It will pass but if it gets too bad then please go and see your GP. There is stuff you can take for ms and there are lots of threads on MN about it (as I'm sure you've seen).
Sparkly OK, now I know why you're slightly anxious about twins! DH's Mum is a twin as well so we wondered if we might have them but not this time thank goodness! The idea is lovely but the reality is something else!

Sparkly08 · 07/08/2008 08:17

Mollie How are you feeling today? Hope the MS is improving. When is your scan?
Fruity Not another 'twins' dream.....I really hope they weren't mine. . Can you imagine how big I would get? I was huge on DD and she was the only one in there.
Teehee Chin up lovely. It's going to be fine. xxx
Cricri Maybe there will be twins next time for you !

I had another high temp this morning and want to stop my BBT after tomorrow (18 highs). Any ideas how I do it? I rely on my temp for confirmation that everything is ok. Does anyone else still temp on the sly? Shall I just chuck it in the bin?

FruitynNutty · 07/08/2008 09:10

Throw it out Sparkly!

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 07/08/2008 11:41

Sparkly Well I've kept breakfast down Stuffing my face full of strawberry lances at the moment, they seem to keep the nausua away til lunch. So far so good
Dating scan is a week Monday, can't wait, really excited but really nervous! I'm hoping I can relax a little after the scan but I know I'll start worrying about blood tests and nuchal scans next Oh and no more temping naughty girl!
Fruity How's the bloated tum? Might be because your not as regular as normal, that will make you bloated

Hope everyone else is OK

mibbes · 07/08/2008 13:27

Sparkly chuck it out - remember I kept doing BBT after 18 high temps and Fruity caught me because I was logging the temps in FF ! It becomes likes an addiction ! Every time my temp dropped a tiny bit I worried and it just isn't worth it - your temp will vary from day to day and apparently after a while it may drop a fair bit but all will be well - STEP AWAY FROM THE THERMOMETER !

FruitynNutty · 07/08/2008 14:12

Caught you red handed didn't I Mibbes naughty naughty
