Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bealcain · 15/07/2008 08:38

pg1 thanks. may perhaps try after LO born....

oops you'll have to fight me for it

VintageGardenia · 15/07/2008 08:49

Morning troops.

pregnancy1 LOL at the way your parents have allowed for the underage drinkers at the party!

TS sorry you had such a bad day yesterday. Sounds as if your DD is well loved and has had her needs considered, and even if she does have a few wobbles initially, she won't be in any doubt about how you and her dad feel about her. Will she be relaxed about going to talk to a therapist? I suppose at that young age it just seems like a doctor? Cheer up, you poor thing. You've always got lots of positive things to say to others so your turn to get some hugs.

Morning sazzles I'd take you up on the tea if I weren't already drinking weak lukewarm microwaved from DP's breakfast delicious freshly brewed coffee. God it takes bloody ages to type strikethroughs.

bealcain you are still calmly waiting! No developments from you, I take it.

Hope you all have a good day. Later on am getting proper back massage, cannot wait! Is with someone who does maternity massage (obv), she has a table with a hole and sling for the bump, so you can lie on your front. Hope it's nice!

LOL at running off with the teapot Bealcain

Sazzles - Oooohhhh a day without children, how lovely! I hope you enjoy it. Am just sat with my tea thinking of today's plan of action with the boys. DS1 is painting a masterpiece while DS2 tastes the paint and sponges his head...

Morning to everyone else! [big wave]

VintageGardenia · 15/07/2008 08:58

Arf arf this one has boob holes too!

I think some massage therapists don't use them, prefer to massage on your side, etc, but at this stage I don't bloody care, I need my lower back sorted and pronto.

chacha lol at image of your boys and the painting.....

the man from the diocese had finally turned up to mend our leaky shower etc etc. yay.

NO energy, and only a morning free cos have to collect dd at 1.....

PetitFilou1 · 15/07/2008 09:52

Hi all
Am knackered after night with both children up twice - dd eventually got into bed with me but got up at 6.20am as usual...
TS Sorry your dd is acting up - what exactly is she doing? I think I'm going to have a problem with my dd - she was very jealous of friend's 8 month old baby the other day. Ds on the other hand is lovely with little babies and was entranced when the same baby laughed and laughed at him when he was talking to her
Sazzles I had a 19 month age gap - so ahem I won't tell you too much about what that was like! You might need the 2 under 2s thread though! Ds was fine though until dd crawled and then kicked off again when she walked. He didn't seem to be bothered by her until she started to be a more obvious threat. Now they love each other dearly but fight when they've had too much time together.

Borage is a herb btw - do I get points? It is very good for you (otherwise known as starflower)

alittlebitshy · 15/07/2008 09:55

ts sorry -meant to give you lots of sympathy re dd. I think my dd is probably having some of the same reactions as yours. It's so hard When I told dd it's next week that baby is coming she was amazed... but I think we'll get even more clingyness etc

ChaCha · 15/07/2008 10:32

TS - Likewise, my DC are still in oblivion it seems so have no words of wisdom. Do hope she is alright though. My friend had a few problems with her 3.5yr old DD as she was a VERY spoiled only child, much loved by everyone. As her little brother grew (he's now 2.5) they play so well together and she's really fond of him - v.different to how she was when he was tiny.

Can i have a round of applause please? I have emptied the washing machine with v.little problem and hung my washing out. I have also had a giggle with the DC and not been irritable by 'more water mummmy' for watering the plants after the 100th refill I feel kind of normal this morning...does that mean hell this afternoon lol?

Sazzles - how many months will there be between yours? Sorry to ask, i know i should just look at the stats list. I don't remember the first year of DS2 that well, all a bit of a haze but we got through it fine (as you do). Once DS2 hit 12 months things were so different. Oops fight has broken out over watering can......

CaptainCaveman · 15/07/2008 10:33

Aw hugs ts (((((TS)))))), you will feel different again today no doubt, good old reliable pg hormones . I have bought ds a Playmobil castle, which we will give to him when he first comes to see us after Jerry is born. It will be Jerry's present to his big brother - although ds is already asking where his little bro will keep his prezzie (he knows he will get something, but doesn't know what).

Ds very fond of leaping on me though so not sure how to get him to stop after my cs!! Ouch. Must try harder .

Going for a walk round the lake today with my friend and her 5wk old. Weather is quite warm but cloudy so will be good to get out.

ChaCha · 15/07/2008 10:34

Should add here in case that came across wrong that when i say 'spoiled' i don't mean in a material way, EVERYONE in love with her (including DH and I), an absolute gorgeous little girl and was v.much used to lots and lots of attention and mummy was HERS not to be shared iyswim. Rabbit ... rabbit....

Watering can now abandoned in washing machine...the sun is coming out, hurray!

CaptainCaveman · 15/07/2008 10:34

chacha clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap Hoping your afternoon is just as good!

bealcain · 15/07/2008 10:37

VG i love that table. need one for myself i think.

very of massage, was thiking of treating myself to some reflexology but dunno yet.

Kids been a complete nightmare this morning. They're in bed already they're constantly fighting, does my head in. Having really bad contractions to, so doesn't help and i've run out of ice

feel really really achy and periody today, not much sleep, and have had a good clear out down stairs (if you know what i mean!!)

ataraxis · 15/07/2008 10:44

Hi all ,

B&A send their love and say thanks for thinking of them. they were very comfortable in their luxury in France, although they did think of swapping with our static caravan for a while, but in the end figured taking over the entire swimming pool might be a bit selfish .

Had a quick flick through the thread and glad that people are on the whole ok - was thinking I might come back to a whole load of... deliveries (20)... and still be sitting here sad and lonely by myself as everyone else moved onto a post natal thread!

Buckets · 15/07/2008 10:56

ALBS LOL at Diocesan Repairs Dept, like any housing association I suppose. Bet he gets paid more than the average vicar!

Chacha , I too am feeling curiously spritely this morning. Have loaded washing machine, made spinach & broad bean soup for lunch and freezer, got crusty bread in the machine to dip, moved guinea pig run (they've been out all night). DS is pottering about the garden picking berries (for squishing not eating). Or something. Yeah all right, I'll go and look.

Have been trawling MN recipes for cake to make and found this for those with painful piles: Laxative Teabread!
Dizzy - if you ever have time, please can you post a traybake recipe? My mouth waters whenever you mention them.

ooohhhh bealcain, your lo may yet put in a very early appearance...

Morning everyone, i am full of beans again two days running, definitely think i am nesting!!!! Saw mw this am and lo head is well and truly engaged in my pelvis so no popping out for her!!!! been having loads of bh's but i am disregarding them as i am not ready!!!

Hope everyone has a great day, lots of cleaning, washing and finishing off the nursery for me today xxxx

cyteen · 15/07/2008 11:39

to ChaCha - my washing is still sitting damply in the basket, and I don't even have SPD, so well done you

to TS and miniSurfer, can't offer any wisdom except to say that with such loving and attentive parents I'm sure she'll do fine

Welcome back ataraxis, glad to see you still want to hang out with us plebs after socialising with Brad'n'Ange No deliveries yet, although several August LOs seem to be knocking on the exit door.

Well, after yesterday's marathon moanfest from me, I came downstairs this morning to discover that angelic DP had kept the cat from mithering me all night, done the washing up and generally let me sleep in so I could get some proper rest What a star. I feel about ten thousand times better than I did yesterday - no heartburn so far, appetite is back, no nausea, am generally much more human, hooray! I feel like I should do something good in return, so will clear up and make a nice tea for him this evening.

Had yet more dreams about the baby last night - I am so impatient now! I dreamt that I went into labour, waters broke etc. but then nothing happened and it was really frustrating. He's been very quiet this morning after yesterday's marathon wrigglefest...I am enjoying the p+q while it lasts.

Expectant · 15/07/2008 11:48

Buckets please slow down you're making me feel dizzy (no pun intended)!

Hi ataraxis and welcome back. We only have the Brangelina new arrivals to welcome.

Sazzles - yes definitely will need to change the MN name once the LO arrives. There are usually quite a few expats at the hospital I've chosen so I'm hoping that LO and I won't become some kind of freak show with a 'giant' baby!

ChaCha · 15/07/2008 11:49

Hello again everyone,

Bealcain - Have had mornings like that - i usually stick a DVD on or pop them in the bath with loads of tupperware and plastic kids stuff. Guaranteed an hour of play and splashing around. Does the ice you need have to be bought or can you just pop some in freezer? I had to have ice with DS2 - understand that need for ice!

Buckets - You remind me yet again - have not put one meal into the freezer this time to make sure there are 'ready meals' for weeks to come. You are v.organised! Think i best stock up on some meat and chicken and make a few curries and tagines that can be popped into freezer easily. My grocery shop consisted of mainly frozen food this week which is v.unusual - had a good few days of being totally anti-cooking. What is
a traybake? And thanks for recipe.

CC - Enjoy your walk. Wish i could do the same.

Sazzles - LOL, no you won't be kicked off, i think it is 2 under 3 a lot of the time. Speaking of which Bealcain - we will need to start a 3 under 3!!! Gulp, eek....ahhhhh!

Have noticed over the years how my mother and MIL watch their washing like hawks and keep a check on the position of clouds etc.. and every so often re-position item of clothing/sheet and make references to 'airing' and 'just another hour' etc..
Have always found it quite funny until i started doing similar Keep going to door and looking at sky and watching my sheets with a 'i did it' look on my face...i think post baby i must really invest in a life...

ChaCha · 15/07/2008 11:56

Almost a better day for all it seems. Cyteen that is so sweet, i thought the same when i woke up but a bit of a cheats dinner i'm afraid. Defrosted some chicken and the nando's marinade is sat in waiting...figured i'd head some nan bread and make some fries and salady stuff.

Hi Exp, Sarah

I will leave you all in peace for a while now, the pains are starting to kick in and am feeling tired - mustn't complain has been a good morning. will put lunch on while i can stand and then we'll head up for naps.

hugs x

ChaCha · 15/07/2008 11:56

Obviously 'heat' some nanbread - have never tried 'heading' it before but hey ho...anything goes!

thanks guys, no bump tan as had a 'tankini' i bought from ebay... hols were fab but not enough lazing by the pool - for some reason being this pregnant doesn't make any difference in our household, so i was still expected to do lots of playing...

and, being all conscientious I was turning off switches before we went and managed to turn off the fridge - so pleasant to come back to cleaning off mould.

On a preg note, having said my MW was v sensible, I saw a different one on the day we left for france who thinks I am measuring small (got the tapemeaure out, 27 at 32ish weeks at that point) - so have to have a growth scan next monday. Left me with a 'oh, don't worry i am sure it is just the way you carry them...' comment , nice to hear just before getting on a ferry....
Actually had the same MW concern with DS1 so not overly concerned - particularly as this one kicks for britain - but would have liked the scan to be this week just to be sure.

chacha - 3 under 3 is very brave!
cyteen, glad you are feeling better today - your DP sounds like an absolute angel. Mine is currently painting all of the ceilings of the new part of the house (5 to do) - he looks at me skeptically when i say i can help (with walls) - perhaps he's right , just a bit concerned that we currently have a nursery with no paint, no carpets, no furniture...
