Just feeling blue. MIL plan isn't going to work. DH being a complete BUTTHEAD. It's just sad because I know if my mother were still alive this would not be an issue...she'd be by my side ready to do anything and everything without being asked.

Morning all.

Anyone heard from Miamla lately? She's due soon.

Forgot DD has softplay party this lunchtime so we are off to lovely country pub nearby for lunch. DS was v good at cinema yesterday but after so much popcorn got a bit of a sugar rush in last half hour and just ran up and down the aisle ecstatically, leading a couple of tiny toddlers astray, so I went to sit right at the front to keep an eye on them. Highly recommend Wall-e btw, something for everyone.

LOL Saz at what's an evening out - I struggled to remember til last night

Was a lovely evening although been suffring most of the night with stomach ache, feeling sick & 'churny' - a very rich 3 course meal does not agree with heavily PG lady it seems

Did you enjoy your brekkie??

Lol

Buckets - he hee at your DS leading some toddlers astray I've not been brave enough to take DD to the cinema yet - they do those Parent & Toddler sessions but they charge normal rate (maybe I am just a tight arse but I thought they might have offered a reduced rate ticket seeings as you won't actually get to sit & watch the entire film without needing to make loo breaks/wipe tears after popcorn gets knocked over & drink spilt in lap - & goodness knows what the kiddies will get up to )

alittlebitshy · 20/07/2008 10:03

I was wondering baout miamla. if she's not been on by later today I'll text her......

My back has got a bit stuck. ow ow ow. Hope I can make it inot the shower and over the church a bit later. ow ow ow. The sooner this baby is out, the sooner my body can try to remember how it is SUPPOSED to behave

oooh tea - I'm hoping i'll want it again in 4-5 days time. I am, normally, a real teapot - mucho tea all day, but when pg i go right off it. The last cup I had was in December i think. Dh says that last time, after having dd I wanted it pretty soon after, so here's hoping!!!!

Ts so what's the issue with mil? is it dh or is it mil being the problem??? lots of hugs for YOU either way.

sazz v jealous of your long sleep. I was in bed not long after 8 last night. read til gone 10, tried to sleep but failed, then dh came home so we chatted a bit, then i treed to sleep some more but couldn;t hence being on mn and drinking milk to help the heratburn. then i had a very awake/asleep night . I've only got 3 more nights in my bed - weds i'm in hosp overnight pre section -eek, so hope I get some decent sleep from tonight onwards....

sorry - v me me me

VintageGardenia · 20/07/2008 11:15

Hi, sorry to hear of aches & pains & unexplained symptoms, sarah, annvan, everyone.

Sazzles you are the angel with the teapot, thank you! Glad you got a lie in.

Ilana tomorrow!!! Good luck, good luck, in case I don't get on again later, we will all be thinking of you and your baby.

TS when you say MIL plan won't work do you mean she's not coming or she's come and it's problematic? I may have missed a post earlier in my catchup.

CC how are your pains today?

So so sorry for all with PIL probs and bump-prodding MILs and unnecessary comments and silly tea.

LOL at Countdown Carol!

Talk later, have a good day. xx

LadyOfWaffle · 20/07/2008 11:54

Morning (just about!) all Think baby has moved out of my pelvis abit which means I can sit at the PC (woooooooo!) for a little bit. Can anyone give me a brief roundup, I have no idea how everyone is getting on, scanned abit but there is so much! DH is at Farnborough Airshow today, I am falling apart too much to go Don't know how much pain your all in, but if likes mine then {{HUGS}} for everyone! I can't believe this is the last little bit, I have only 2 and a bit weeks to go until my EDD and I am still not ready The builder has gone on hols for four weeks now so at least once I clean the house it'll stay pretty clean now, but so much hasn't been done that I thought would be done by the time baby came ie. flooring at least in the living room! Sending DH out for a big carpet offcut tomorrow, it's about all I can do for now. Anyone else totally sh*tting themselves yet??

ChaCha · 20/07/2008 12:56

Morning all,
Sympathy and tea please...
Braved trip to hospital on own (mum left Friday) for final infusion & was awful They could not find a suitable vein anywhere...so after much prodding and people in and out i passed out on bed [shame], started wheezing and had those horrible cold sweats. I then burst into tears and told them no more and that i didn't want the c-section either!! LOL
They brought me a nebulizer (sp?), and told me to go home and rest and talk to midwife about levels as the two i've already had may be okay.
Very embarrased but a taste of things to come perhaps. Hope the pre-section medical folks are ready for me, i can't believe what a big kid i was so off i went sobbing waiting to be picked up.
DH is going to take us out for lunch now and a touch of retail therapy, think he felt v.sorry for me, have lovely blue/purple colourful hands and arms.

Sorry for me post. I am totally shitting myself now LOW x

MIL Issue {{twilight reflects back to DD1's birth}} MIL said she wanted to come and help. We called as soon as DD was born. She arrived the following day with FIL and saw us in the hospital...saying she'd meet us at home the next day to help us get settled. She met us at home ONLY AFTER picking up DH's teenage niece so said help with settling in turned into MIL, FIL , niece visiting for 2 hours then leaving......and not returning. They spent the remainder of the day with niece, decided we had things handled and drove home because their dog was at the kennel.

{{{{flash foward to present}}}}
MIL offered again to help but very much more vocal this time. Claims "her lady friends" have been baggering her because she's had not granny duties. I bit the bullet and composed a very nice email explaining all our sitter options were gone at the present moment, that I was concerned with going into labor without someone to watch DD1, and asked if she'd come up (today), get settled and help mind DD1 until the birth (maybe two weeks time). DH seem hesitant about having her up for so long...it's his mom so I added an "out" to the email so see if she really wanted to help. She took the "out". She does't want us to call until we head to the hospital. SHE IS FIVE HOURS AWAY (on a good day). That leaves no one for DD1 (which is my ONLY need). Then fourth time asked what do you need of me. ARRGGHH! When I started to cry, DH nicely said I was making more of this than I should. He picked up the phone to call his mom and I told him not to that I was unwilling to BEG for help and that he just needed to be aware that HE would be caring for DD1 and not me during the delivery. He then said I needed to get off my high horse.

THAT ABOUT COVERS IT!
Last night I was up going through my contacts considering all possible options for either a sitter for DD1 or a birthing coach for me. As for DH, he could move to Egypt right now and I could care less!!

Eeek! DP's mum sisters and brother coming round for sunday roast, had to clean kitchen, get food ready all while feeling sick/dizzy (threw up my breakast) then found out that the fridge had come unplugged at some point and Ice cream had melted EVERWHERE. Why oh why did we offer to do a roast??

TwilightSurfer · 20/07/2008 16:09

Well I'm still crying but things have improved. After MIL's voicemail and email last night I politely responded that the weekend after the birth would be a nice time for them to visit and thanked her for ... goodness knows what but I was being as nice as I could in the light of feeling totally left out in the cold. When I told DH this morning he blew a fuse then noticed there was a voicemail on the phone. It was his dad saying he was bringing his mom up today. what?? I start crying again. I tell DH I've already started trying to find another solution. He gets madder saying you've got what you wanted now be grateful. LIKE THAT'S SUPPOSE TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER!! I finally find the strength to call MIL back. As soon as MIL answers the phone she starts appologizing saying she was being short sighted and that I'd been clear with my needs and that she had no problem coming up today and would stay as long as needed. {{{Prompt More Crying}}}

I've officially been crying now for ...... 15 hours. I am so thankful I have our thread to let out what I can because I'm still not at all happy with DH. I've got about six hours to gain control over my emotions before MIL & FIL arrive. You can find me in the naughty corner for the remainder of the day with a large bottle of rum. Feel free to join but please bring your own bottle for I fear I won't have enough to share.

Oh TS, what a rollercoaster it all is . I was going to say that odds are you will probably have at least 5-6hrs notice of impending baby, even if it meant you getting a cab to hospital by yourself and DH sitting DD until his mom arrived. But yay, having her in situ is even better. Maybe you and she can go out and bond tomorrow, let out all your fears and worries and see if it rings any bells for her.

AnnVan · 20/07/2008 16:32

TS - big hugs your way,

Sazzles - Not just any ice cream, three tubs of Haagen Daz ruined and spilled all over the freezer

pertelote · 20/07/2008 16:42

Oh Twilight, what a nightmare - {{hugs}}. My mother is similar, she asks what I need and then when I suggest something there's always an objection - but at least she's my mother so I can tell her she's being a pain!

Hope the rum helps and once she's there in person you can get along...

TwilightSurfer · 20/07/2008 17:10

AnnVan..the ice cream...THAT IS A CRIME!! Very close to spilling your alcoholic beverage in THINGS THAT SHOULD NEVER BE DONE AND PUNISHABLE BY LAW!!!

Thanks for all the hugs and kindness. Rum must be working...I'm not crying but I'm still ignoring DH despite all is attempts to speak to me.

Lunch to day is chili and lemonaid.

Must wipe down the kitchen counters after lunch then nap.

Sazzles DHs need good kick in butt today!!

TS - sorry you've been having such a 'mare and really glad that your MIL has seen the light. I hope your DH starts seeing things a little more your way and that you've managed to stem the flow of tears and are feeling a bit more cheerful.

Annvan - I feel your pain re: the ice cream. Truly tragic!

Ilana - much good luck for tomorrow - the August thread PIONEER! Very excited on your behalf!

I have spent the weekend frantically nesting with DH getting things down from the loft and washing old baby grows etc. It's all getting a bit REAL now - just hit 35 weeks proper and the panic is starting to build ....

... so, am feeling I ought to get hospital bag ready. If anyone has a checklist of what to take please could you post (sure it's been done before but don't want to spend chocolate eating time on scrolling down old threads!) Thanks.
