Hello all - mind if a very late newbie says hello??

You'll have to forgive me as I'm still 'feeling' my way around the due board

I'm 25, have a 2 year old DD & am currently 38 weeks PG with a little boy.

Have had a very eventful PG so far, have been really poorly (dizziness, passing out, non stop nausea, low BP, severe SPD) throughout this PG & just for added meaure baby tried to evict himself at 33+0. Was given steroids for his lungs & popped on a drip which thankfully stopped the contractions

So have been desperate to reach 37 weeks & now that I have reached & passed it I am desperate for Little Man to make his entrance into the world

Getting lots of false starts & all these pre labour 'signs' which are mounting to nothing so getting a tad fed up lol!!

Sorry - that turned into a major waffle!!!

Hope you don't mind me saying hello!!

Xx

AnnVan · 19/07/2008 16:56

Hi MrsMagooo - sorry to hear you're having a rough pg. Our thread 'administrator' is having some dificulties at the mo, so probably why no one has got back to you. Just post your details, due date etc to be added to the list!

Hi Mrs Magoo - Welcome! There are a few fellow SPD sufferers here too - sending you sympathies!
Hopefully others will be along soon. There is a friendly SAZZLES that supplies tea during morning post frenzy, a TS that updates our stats list and does an amazing job of it too, there's a DD that is the resident traybaker and many others ... will be here all day! Very friendly board, enjoy!

Ilana - Had been asking where you'd gotten to, 2 days OMG!! I was LOL at your focusing on the pain and being done...know exactly what you mean!
I spent previous hospital stays in pj's and nighties, never wore my 'out' clothes until it was time go and they were the ones that i wore for the whole of an hour before section so were fine. I think my mum brought me more PJ's as i'd gone through 2 sets during stay but i was in for 5 days with first, and 3 days with second, you seem to be in for a quick stay - am not budging until at least day 3... [look of horror thinking about post-section and being home with the DC too early]
Keep posting Ilana - am v.excited for you!!!
Did you remember the peppermint teabags?

Now upstairs watching cabinets being put up - feel like the fat controller supervisor here. Gotta make sure it's done though

AnnVan · 19/07/2008 17:07

Hey all! This may be TMI, but I seem to have developed a tiny hole in right nipple which is bleeding?? Is this normal - it stings a bit too. Seems strange that I've not been leaking at all, now suddenly am leaking blood

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2008 17:07

Hello mrsmagoo, nice to have you with us whatever stage you join at . Twilight Surfer is our star at putting all the stats together, i'm sure she'll be along shortly to sort you out. Sounds like you have had an eventful time but congrats on making it to 38 weeks. Not one of us has popped yet!! I was prob in hosp about the same time as you, I had a bleed at 31 weeks and they kept me in for 4 days (the rest was bloody marvellous! .

sazz will go check FB in a minute. Headache was accompanied by flashing lights, and I thought about pre-eclampsia. It didn't last long though so can't have been, lol.

Horrid bloody heartburn all day today, and constant rib pain. Didn't I say I wasn't going to moan today - only joking!!!

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2008 17:09

ilana you're having a baby on monday? . I didn't even know you were pg!. I think I wore casual stuff in the day, like joggy/soft cotton bottoms type things. Made me feel a little more human to get dressed. Just over a day and a half to go!! woo hoo, lucky you!!!

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2008 17:10

and chacha ANYONE who says 'not long to go now' will be put in the naughty corner

ChaCha · 19/07/2008 17:11

LOL Sazzles - QC but with 'fat' in front!!

You make me want to go swimming!! But getting in and out of the bath is a mission...DS was actually in hysterics the other day, walked into bathroom as i was letting out some of the bath water enabling me to get out of bath with more ease. Water to the front all but drained, massive reservoir behind me 'The water didn't go down mummy, is big river!' I shifted a little and whooooooooooooosh...well it made DS's day...lots of ooooh and ahhhhh.

Buckets · 19/07/2008 17:11

This week's grocery shopping tip:
Start investing in bogroll BIGTIME! We are entering that phase - constantly weeing, knickerchecking for shows and isn't every vaguely soft stool a sign of imminent labour? Plus, after the baby's here there's lochia and loads of visitors using your loo. So, everyone needs to buy at least one giant pack of looroll ASAP!

PS My birthday's not til Tuesday actually but thanks CC.

Hey Ilana, been thinking about you! Yep, just think PJs/clothes for a hot stuffy hospital - vesty tops and saggy shorts or PJ bottoms. Don't forget the peppermint teabags. PS We Cancerians are loyal, homely types with a passion for food.

Afternoon MrsMagooo, welcome to the board, that does all sound exciting. Would concentrate on peace and quiet while you can . Aren't steroid injections painful?

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2008 17:13

annvan how about ringing your mw? I've not heard of that before but then I'm not a mw! Hope you are ok though?

ChaCha · 19/07/2008 17:14

AnnVann - Have no idea what that is about - hope someone comes along to answer soon - anyone?

CC - Naughty corner indeed lol! Is that the replacement for the grumpy corner? I'm just keeping a smile on my face regardless because i can countdown - and Sazzles can hear that countdown music now....bimmmmm!

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2008 17:14

buckets who is this 'lochia' of whom you speak, and why is she using your loo so frequently

CaptainCaveman · 19/07/2008 17:16

Oh, and dh has bought 'us' a Nintendo Wii today. He and ds are currently downstairs playing on it. I care not, as long as I get some peace!

ChaCha · 19/07/2008 17:19

[sigh] See Buckets, this is why i dream of a home like my mother's that has an ensuite bathroom. No worrying about visitors or mess!!

ChaCha · 19/07/2008 17:23

CC - I think i'd be the one playing. DH and I are like big kids but fortunately we made a very grown up decision to get rid of many of our 'gadgets' a while back but the urge for something like that does get strong. Honestly, i'd be sat there all day!!!

Thanks peeps - didn't think it seemed normal, but it's not a great deal so puzzled more than worried. Sazzles LOL at yoghurt covered DD.

TwilightSurfer · 19/07/2008 17:32

Hi MrsMagoo!! Welcome. When's your due date?? I'll glad you add you to our party list.

Sazzles how did you pass your heartburn across the Atlantic? My throat is on fire today.

I see a new thread title building here:
constantly weeing, knickerchecking for shows and isn't every vaguely soft stool a sign of imminent labour BUT let's not forgot Wii time for all.

Just sitting here waiting on DH and DD to return from their lunch outing. I requested they return with fresh tomatoes to go with my homemade burrito (they didn't want any). I may have to eat a burrito without...I'M STARVING!!!

Buckets · 19/07/2008 17:43

Oh man TS, now I want Mexican food! Wonder if we dare risk taking the kids out to lunch at Chiquitos tomorrow, our cinema trip this am to see Wall-e was a great success, might have gone to DH's head.... (Not that the kids will eat anything on the menu I bet.)

Buckets · 19/07/2008 17:45

Can you tell my backdated maternity allowance has become monopoly money in my warped food-fixated brain? The fact that most of it's already gone refilling the overdraft I've been living off for 6wks seems just so irrelevant right now.

TwilightSurfer · 19/07/2008 18:02

TWO BURRITOS (with fresh tomatoes) GONE!! Fig cookies for dessert. I am now officially STUFFED!!
