Sazzles, get your friend on the phone to the NCT BF counsellor. BTW is there an airport in Barrow then?

Here's a TMI for y'all: Have decided I definitely have piles, even if they still don't hurt. Whenever I squat to pick something up, a little creature pops out! If only babies were so easy. Anusol doesn't seem to be shrinking anything so off to buy some witchazel today.

Oh yes, forgot you were Oxon. My friend lives in Abingdon, said it was great for BF help and NCT fun!

Buckets · 17/07/2008 08:26

Wow about Barrow! Thought it would be like Haverfordwest or Landsend, being the end of the line and all.

MOrning All

Seems lots of us were up in the early hours - Me personally from 2 to 4 then 5.30 to 7 then fast asleep when DH had to wake me for work!

TS Hope you managed some rest and are still home and bubs is giving you some peace. {{{{HUGS}}}}

SAZZLES thanks forthe tea - having a cup before anyone steals the pot again. Hope you are okay this morning and your clear out last night had little to do with LO's arrival.

BUCKETS OUCH you need the vaseline and witchhazel combo as described by TS not long ago. Just to tempt fate - I seem to have missed the piles and constipation - it must be the branflakes and raisins everymorning.

Things seem to have slowed down here contractions no longer breath takingly painful but periody crampy backache and front. She seems to be snuggles for the long run now.

oopsacoconut · 17/07/2008 08:41

OOOOH get you Sazzles - all posh is a Glos car just not good enough for you - did you need the Oxon pedigree???

Okay Sazzles for that reason and that reason only you are no longer trying to be posh in my books - just normal.

Can't believe I was up at 5.20 posting something so inane as I have nothing to wear to my dinner party.

Thank you all for being too polite to slap me.

cyteen · 17/07/2008 09:01

Morning girls, another early waker here although at least I did get an extra hour's kip in once DP left...for some reason we were both awake at 4.30am again this morning Had lovely chat and lots of laughs in bed though. Who would have thought I'd come to enjoy the small hours of the morning so much when viewed from the 'right' side? 10 years ago the only time I'd ever be up so early is because I hadn't been to bed yet, now I'm a sucker for an early night and an early morn.

Probably just as well eh, since people seem to be insisting that we're having a baby soon...

Got a totally doss day planned today, hope everyone else has one too (unless you are expecting/hoping a birth situation to progress of course, then I am hoping for swift painless delivery and bucketloads of champagne all round ). And TS try not to worry about the little Surfer - it seems perfectly natural for her to have worries and concerns about the big change coming up, but she obviously feels comfortable to act them out with you and that is really a good thing. Like Sazzles says, once she's a big sister for real I bet she'll be over the moon and bugging you every second to be allowed to help out

AnnVan · 17/07/2008 09:03

Good morning all! here's a turnup for the books, guess who was actually awake at 7.30 and up at 8.00?!

All you ladies having contractions are scaring me now. By mid August I'll be talking to myself on this thread, everyone else will have popped. i don;t think mine is going to arrive till September, maybe I should have joined the Sept thread??

Anyway - DP was off work sick yesterday, seems he may be suering rom stress, bless him. He has high blood pressure apparently, which he's never had before, (he's only 24) Consequently did not get use of the laptop as he spent most of the day playing age of empires.

I really need one of Angelina's maxi dresses, I wonder what she's doing with all of hers now that her twins have arrived? Do you think she makes up black bags of them and gets Brad to put them in the attic, or maybe just hands them on to pregnant friends?

I still have a voucher for a maternity clothes shop I haven't used (I exchanged somthing that didn't fit). Not much point now. What a waste!

cyteen isn't that intimacy, lying in bed in the early hours chatting and giggling? If physical intimacy has been good up to now, you'll get back into your groove.

I had reflexology yesterday and there was a point at my inner ankle which was really tender to the touch, the reflexologist said it was my uterus and that she would leave it alone for this session but near my due date she can work on it, partly to limber everything up and partly to bring on labour. Does anyone have experience of this?

I am going treatment mad since taking mat leave, I am sure you're not meant to have back massage and reflex on subsequent days, eek.

VG you are right of course, we still talk and laugh and touch and kiss which is lovely It's just the sex thing - penetration is still painful, which makes me tense whenever anything saucy starts to happen as I worry about if/when the pain will appear, but I still have a sex drive and lust over him, so we're a bit stuck and both frustrated

I have decreed that today will be a moan-free day for me though, so am smiling and happy ->>>>> me

Re. Ange's dresses, we could always pop over to France and root through her bins...I was reading a copy of the Scum yesterday (left on the bus, I didn't buy it!) and according to the Bizarre gurus Jennifer Lopez dresses her twins in designer gear which gets worn once and then given away to charity.

Buckets · 17/07/2008 09:43
PetitFilou1 · 17/07/2008 09:47

Cyteen My sex drive has gone up the swannee recently - if you've still got one at this point, chances are you'll get it back quite quickly. Warning though - the sleep deprivation does affect you to begin with so if you don't get back into the swing of it immediately after the 6 week check then don't worry - there are plenty of women who take MUCH longer (me included). My sex life with dh actually improved though after dd was born. On the other hand there are MNrs who are still at it every night as soon as they can manage it after birth. We're all different.

VG lol at 'thankles' you will wee out the fluid quite quickly don't worry!

annvan I'm not due until end August. Don't leave or I will be talking to a thread where the only sound is the tumbleweed whooshing past

PetitFilou1 · 17/07/2008 09:49

Buckets You are a bit raunchy really aren't you?! My dh is a plain vanilla sex kind of guy. If I even suggest anything remotely like Ann Summers he goes 'ewwwww'. I'm quite disappointed really as would like to visit Agent Provocateur!

VintageGardenia · 17/07/2008 09:57

pf I firmly believe there are vanilla avenues to toffee crunch (or whatever).

I wouldn't mind a guarantee on the postbaby mojo myself. I feel innerly mojo-ish yet outerly very functional and from what I remember of bf I felt very very functional during it (even though I really loved it). I think with all my pains and moans and so on DP is now scared to touch me. Serves me right for being such a whinge.

cyteen · 17/07/2008 09:59

Hehe, believe me Buckets lack of sexcessories is not the problem! It's just the pain on penetration that's making life difficult, I'm hoping it will all resolve itself once the baby's born (am thinking it might be due to all the excess pressure from carrying another human around in my belly).

pf good to hear the voice of experience from you as well. Since I'm also due at the end of August I'm sure we'll still both be here keeping AnnVan company while everyone else nuzzles their lovely sleepy newborns.

ataraxis · 17/07/2008 10:05

Morning all ,

It's all going on here isn't it? AnnVann, I am with PF, don't you go running away now... i am already a bit concerned that all of these contracting ladies will run off and start a late july post natal thread, leaving us still with the bumps with only a few (but very valuable) playmates .

sazzles - i need that cage please - NOW (or, better still, can I send DS2 to you for a while...?). Was just going to bed last night when i went to the sink and saw that he had put a marble down it - just the right size to have no leverage around the sides... after 20 mins of trying (and a call to FIL for advice after magnets and various other options didn't work) I managed to get it out. Asked him this am whether he put a marble in the sink, he paused, looked at me, grinned and said "yes, a BIG one!!". Grrrr. DC3 had better be an angel .

TS - hope you are feeling more comfortable today. Every time you talk about where you live i am very , it sounds absolutely lovely.

cyteen, with you on the sex thing - for us it is more about positioning and energy, but would love to know how you are supposed to successfully have sex at this stage - buckets???

Re poshness and Oxon - I was born in Oxford - now live in Somerset - what does that say about me? (sure it can't be good... .

vg - very about all your treatments, are you feeling totally relaxed and pampered?

oh, and on the meeting thing yesterday - went fine, mainly because I decided that i would ask some awkward questions I knew he wouldn't want to answer just to wind him up .

'working' from home today...
