LOL PF, I was talking gadgets actually, the clothing quality in Ann Summers is shocking. Like in Sex & the City, I honestly think every busy mum should have one! DPs can play too if you actually manage to find yourselves in the right time and the right place (v difficult with new baby!).
(PS We really are pretty vanilla too, I'm just very outspoken if it might help someone out of a rut.)

Ataraxis, if you don't have SPD and DP's tummy:bump ratio not too prohibitive, you could try DP sitting up straight against headboard with you on top. Otherwise it's spoons/doggy-style and probably having to find some other way of getting an orgasm. Lights off too at this stage I think.

VG Can you elaborate?! On the bf I agree about being functional. Loved it too but didn't want dh anywhere near them until they stopped being used for that purpose (which was quite a long time!)

Cyteen You might need some ky if you are bfing ( you sound like you probably have that in stock anyway ) as you can stay a bit dry but other than that I think you'll find the pain will go once everything is healed up again.

thanks buckets - LOL at tummy:bump ratio - I think we should be ok on that! Haven't tried the sitting thing, will give it a go...Definitely lights out .

Morning ladies,
Have tried 3 times to post this morning but my laptop has other ideas. Read all posts since yesterday and typed lots of replies which after attempt number 3 have given up!

In a nutshell had iron infusion yesterday, was fine but felt very surreal being in Observations with mothers and brand newborns, was quite a reality check if anything. Spent most of evening in Ikea and wish i hadn't as waddled about on crutches for far too long and i think the surge or iron has done something too. I have back pains that i have only experienced before after having an epidural (post baby of course). In bed this morning resting while we have help.

Just quickly before expected crash, Buckets i had the most horrendous, painful piles last week and the Germoloid supp's & cream worked for me with their local anaesthetic. Ice cubes also helped, anusol no good.

Ilana - Same anxieties, had them before DS2 came along too. I must email you post baby about HE, not sure how homeschooling 3 of them will be but learning through play at the moment is going fine and i have no qualms for the minute, DS1 still only 2.6yrs.

Chacha do you work with a home ed group? My friend HE's her two and they are always as busy as if they were at school. They are always in the local papers too as they seem to be at every local event doing the kids' activities LOL.

Oh TS hope you are ok.

pf my elaboration is that I have a sex drive all right (innerly mojo-ish) yet don't feel attractive, with comedy boobs, vast bump, new stretchmarks, legs I can no longer shave with comfort (in fact less talk of hair removal the better), ankles the size of my neck, etc etc. Not that I was ever gorgeous . And the idea of breastfeeding for probably a year - while I am committed to doing it, and want to do it - makes me think of the time of me being me again, being desirable, is just so distant. I mean of course you can have sex while bf but I can remember the feeling when DS was small of just longing not to be touched by anyone for half an hour. Yet at the same time I loved that he was a cuddly baby and loved how easy it was to comfort him through feeding, and I love now that he is so affectionate and huggy.

Oh dear. Have not really set it out so harshly before. Feel a bit guilty. I have to talk to DP about it . I must say he does keep saying you're lovely, your bump is lovely, etc etc.

BUT.

And a few weeks ago I was greedily ordering lovely bras with red lace trim and cherry blossom print to bring a touch of glamour to nighttime feeds, etc, and yesterday from FigLeaves I ordered this which I'm sure will be comfortable and practical but is hardly going to have the milkman begging me to be the highlight of his morning round .

ChaCha I'm glad you got your infusion - can see how it must have been weird to be surrounded by new mums and babies! You were bonkers to go to Ikea, as you well know, so I hope you now have a good arrangement of pillows and cushions propping legs, back and bump, and of course laptop.

ataraxis good on you for being the strong one at the meeting! Yes thanks I feel a squillion times better, esp lower back, also slept v solidly till about 5, feel refreshed, bliss.

In fact I hope ordering an underwired bra was ok, it is a specially designed nursing one but they do say underwires can lead to blocked ducts, etc. Anyone had an underwired nursing bra before and been ok?

Good afternoon gals . Weather here is RUBBISH, it has been pishing it down all morning. Another early start here too - ds thinks 6.30 is wakey wakey time . So I got up with him, put the tv on and fell back to sleep on the sofa for 1.5 hours

36 weeks today! Yippee!! That means I'm nearly full term . This may sound bizarre but I'm kind of hoping I go into labour before my cs date as otherwise I will never experience labour pains. I'm not that desperate that I would ask for cs to be delayed, oooohhh NOOOOO, just want to know what labour feels like for me.

CC I know what you mean, I've had labour (almost) and it was hellish and yet my VBAC fantasy still lurks. It's the excitement and attention of spontaneous labour I think. Did you have a look at that link about vaginal breech birth just in case? Apparently you need to do it on all fours and bite the head off anyone who suggests you lie down or tries to interfere.

Me and DS just had chips for lunch, finished by 12noon! Really ought to be putting some stuff on Ebay...

Buckets am a bit scared of vaginal breech delivery, given that I have not had a vag delivery before. I have horrible images of legs and shoulders coming out but cervix closing around the head [eeeeeekkk].

hmmmm, chips sound good....Had breakfast at 10am due to having to shop for cereal first. Think I can squeeze some lunch in there before I go round to see my friend for coffee.

Cat left me a nice 'present' in the bath . Bloody stank as well. He must be half a stone lighter after dumping that 'load'. Bleurgh. Don't worry, I had my gloves on, windows open, etc. BAth now sparkly clean due to cleaning 3 times with bleach to be sure all the shite was gone . He had the audacity to look up at me from where he was comatosed sleeping, as if to say "make sure you get it all up now". Grrr. rub his sodding face in it if I catch him doing that again!!

That's fairly considerate isn't it, doing it in the bath? My cat leaves vomity inside-out creatures on my landing carpet - rest of house is laminated or floorboards.

Morning all, the farmers and the government have been in conflict about a rise in export taxes for the past four months, but late last night the sante voted against the tax. Not very exciting, but quite big news here.

Cleaning on the cards for me today. I hate cleaning, and the fact that I now have lots of time doesn't make me any keener to get on with it.

Does nesting mean that you suddenly like cleaning? I hope so, and in which case I am looking forward to

Hello all, I'm back, I just had to go have a lie down. I'm supposed to be leaving right now to go to antenatal class, and I'm still sitting eating toast in a gown with hair wrapped in a towel. I'm really feeling cr*p today though, so they will just have to put up with a late arrival I think!
