Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sarahnh · 16/07/2008 19:35

i bought my arnica tablets today... asked when i should start to take them and the woman said about 5 days beforehand.. emmmm how i am suspose to know that ????

Really miserable here tonight... getting loads and loads of niggling contractions, very swollen down below but nothing definite... in fact i have sent my dh out as i am so sure nothing is going to happen and i still haven't packed my bag.. i wish there was a special switch that lit up saying "you are now in labour"!!!!!

oopsacoconut · 16/07/2008 20:15

AAAAHHHHH the first girl in our NCT had her baby girl today - So that's why we went to those classes .

Hope everyone is doing well.

Sorry for such self centred posts lately - am worried about this one making an early arrival, everone in RL just says how lovely you get to meet her earlier than planned, but i would rather she stayed until fully cooked thus reducing any chance of a SCBU stay. Staying on the me me me topic, saw m/w today who said she tried me on Friday but got answer machine and when she got to 7pm she was tired so gave up! Proceded to have contractions at 6 min intervals during checkup to show it wasn't in my head - bubs measuring 32 weeks so 2 weeks small, bp okay. Told if you are worried don't bother ringing me just ring and go to hospital instead! So why is she there????

HUGS to those who are having a bad day/week/hour - please have some non heartburn causing chocolate tiffin and a large cocktail - many varieties available, someone just gave me a cocktails book for post birth, why now when for the first time ever in my life i could do with a drink??

Am taking my fat fanjo and enormous norks to persuade DH I need some excitement

PetitFilou1 · 16/07/2008 20:22

Can I just mention that it is a full moon on Friday - someone on the pregnancy board has noted it! Bets are on for someone popping that day...

CaptainCaveman · 16/07/2008 20:41

Full moon eh? Not so sure I will be popping a bubba out but may well end up barking at it (in a mad sense that is).

Dh in the pub, ds just in bed. Now then, do I fancy a Baileys, or just iced water? Already had half a bag of toffee popcorn and I'm fresh out of fab lollies....what else can I graze on....

Did I tell you I bought 3 nursing bras? All Freya ones, from Bravissimo. Norks are guesstimated at 32 FF for nursing size. Phew, not bad for a DD lass . Although if I rightly recall, post-milk coming in after having ds I sent a friend out on a mercy mission to buy me a 32 J cup . They were massive hooters!!

dizzydixies · 16/07/2008 21:01

CC can you remind me where you got your Buzz, friend of mine looking for one and I remember you got a good deal didn't you

and you've inspired me, will got and sort out the norks and their new nursing bras tomorrow

CaptainCaveman · 16/07/2008 21:26

Hi dizzy I bought it from bambinodirect. There was a thread saying how crap they were but I got exactly what I ordered, a few days later than they said it would arrive but they did keep me updated by email. My friend also got her Jane from there a few weeks before I got my Buzz.

The website is www.bambinodirect.co.uk
I think they are Sheffield (ish) based. Dependant on the colour your friend wants, there are some cracking Buzz deals on www.diddyland.co.uk too.

dizzydixies · 16/07/2008 21:30

will let her know thank you

Buckets · 16/07/2008 21:37

Oopsacoconut, I recently realised my community MW has never given me a number to get her on! Had to ask the consultant yesterday what number I should call if I thought I was going into labour before my CSec!

Made a yummy choc traybake a la Dizzy, but used cocoa and hacked up half a bar of choc for chips in it. Working my way through the remaining half now as have promised DD a slice of fridge cake in her lunchbox tomorrow. Somerfield Milk Choc is surprisingly delicious, quite a lot like Galaxy.

I'm not too worried about managing baby#3, assuming he'll just slot in to everyone else's schedules seeing as there won't be any alternative. Have seen a couple of 2wks olds in the last few days - forgot how wriggly and fighty they are, like they think they can fly out of your arms LOL!

Has everyone at least bought themselves a new toothbrush for their hospital bag?

buckets am chuffed to bits you've tried a receipe - someone else made my cheese cake and said it turned out so am a bit preeny tonight

I am in fact the proud owner of a new toothbrush that I got in a 3 for 2 deal so from now it shall be known as the birth bag toothbrush - does that count?!?!

sazz poor friend, her hormones must be all over the fecking place bless her

what kind of cake btw?!?

TwilightSurfer · 16/07/2008 21:51

Oops don't worry about that tape measure!! You're baby is dropping / has dropped so the numbers are probably unhelpful now anyway.

Interesting about the full moon Friday. I hadn't realized and I've been thinking that's when this little would show up. Could I be a fortune-teller....? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Captain my DH would never go out and buy me a new bra. I can see him now wandering around the shop, the sales clerk approaches him asking, "are you looking for something in black or white?", and he then turns three shades of NEON RED.

Buckets · 16/07/2008 21:53

Ooh Sazzles your friend will love you forever for just turning up let alone bringing cake!

TwilightSurfer · 16/07/2008 21:57

One other crazy pregnant thought moment...
Back in the beginning one task was to properly figure out our weeks. Now I'm looking at that again.

If I am 35+4 then this is my 36nd week...right? So if I were to give birth on Sunday when I'm 36+1 then I would be giving birth in my 37th week????? Right????

Comments?

Buckets, yes I've a new toothbrush, toothpaste and everything else required during my moments in the bathroom before and after the birth.

OP posts:
oopsacoconut · 16/07/2008 21:59

Yes TS you are right!!!!

Buckets - yes have new toothbrush, flanel and toothpaste.

dizzydixies · 16/07/2008 21:59

oh lordy TS you're making my head spin with that one

am 38wks today and as far as I know if I had baby tomorrow I would be delivering at 38+1
but I have been known to be wrong on lots of occasions!

TwilightSurfer · 16/07/2008 22:03

Dizzy...so would 38+1...is that considered birthing in your 39th week??

See I'm trying to figure out the whole is it really "early" or "term" thing. All I've seen online seems to validate that babies born in the "37th week" and beyond are considered TERM........

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 16/07/2008 22:05

On the far end of the spectrum
40+1 would be the 41st week of pregnancy, right?? And 0+3 would be the 1st week of pregnancy????? See this is really bothering me.

OP posts:
oopsacoconut · 16/07/2008 22:06

TS yes at 36+ weeks you are in your 37th week but term is classed as 37 weeks or in your 38th week. At least that is how my discussion with the m/wife at the hospital went. Geberal concensus seemed to say that anytime after 36 weeks is considered safe with very few babies needing special care.

TwilightSurfer · 16/07/2008 22:07

I think the "wording" is the thing...
OH WHERE IS VG she's the writer....

Baby must be 37 weeks or more (thus 37, 37+5, 38+2) OR Baby must be born in or beyond the 37th week (thus 36+1, 36+5, 38, 39+1). WHICH IS IT????

OP posts:
oopsacoconut · 16/07/2008 22:08

oooh what pathetic spelling! sorry

dizzydixies · 16/07/2008 22:08

oh just leave me out of that one and tell me when I deliver all too complicated for me lol

oopsacoconut · 16/07/2008 22:11

I meant to say that at 37 weeks+ (or in your 38th week you are term) you are term. SO that is why I am aiming for 2 weeks and 3 days unitl this one arrives, when I will be 37 week or in my 38th week. EEEEEKKK how confusing for pregnancy confuddled brains.

TwilightSurfer · 16/07/2008 22:11

I guess I'll just take it as it happens cause AIN'T NOBODY GONNA STOP IT NOW...

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 16/07/2008 22:11

OMG, so I'm term?!?!?

when did that happen, why did nobody tell me?!

oopsacoconut · 16/07/2008 22:12

Well I guess she will just come when she's ready - whether you are or not!
