Ah now I see. I was feeling a bit stupid as everybody else seemed to know what you were talking about.

Originally from North Kensington but moved to Hillingdon. So still West but bit further out. My family are still in North Ken so that still feels like home

stillhere · 16/07/2008 09:54

ALBS Happy birthday! Big slice of gooey chocolate fudge cake on its way to you with a nice cup of tea. Next week, eh?! What has happened to the last 7 months... Fantastic - will be thinking of you...

pregnancy1 · 16/07/2008 09:56

Albs - doh! sorry - pregnancy brain hits in . Glad it all went okay in the end.
Cannot believe you will have your baby in 8 days when I'll still be at work! urk. Will your DH text or email us & let us know?
Happy birthday! Is it today? Are you doing anything this evening?

ataraxis · 16/07/2008 09:56

Hi guys,

Having a very bad hormonal day - want to cry all the time and not feeling like i can cope at all - not good when I am on the train to a meeting with someone who is a complete pr**k .

still, on the bright side, have discovered that I can access MN via 3g on the train - if a bit slow.

thanks for the continued names suggestions - can't think about it at the mo but will when I have my head a bit straighter.

cyteen, hope the plan is working and making you feel more positive.

sazzles, have you got any spare cages for my DS's? Could do with one at least for DS2!

TS and everyone else who is really getting close - how exciting - am a bit tbh, would be good to have things properly on the way.

longwayfromhome · 16/07/2008 10:01

Hello all. Well, the allbran and dried fruit cake is not entirely unpleasant, and very easy to cook, although gooey on the middle and burnt on the outside and mostly just tastes like allbran and dried fruit, so not that exciting. No update on the efficacy yet. Lots of thoughts for everyone today.

ataraxis · 16/07/2008 10:02

Happy birthday albs!!

longwayfromhome · 16/07/2008 10:02

PS ataraxis I hope that your meeting goes OK.

Shazza2002 · 16/07/2008 10:10

Happy Birthday ALBS Hope you have a lovely day, well as lovely as can be with a limit on alcohol.

Mine is on 31st July, so I have a little chance of having baby before then and enjoying a good few vodka and tonics Even the thought brings a smile to my face. Anybody tell I'm missing the booze

Hope those are you that are not feeling so great manage to cheer up today. We are well and truely in the home straight now ladies, plus all this talk of booked CS has definitely brought it home to me

bealcain · 16/07/2008 10:21

happy birthday ALBS

how does it feel to have a date set??

VintageGardenia · 16/07/2008 10:27

Hello everybody.

cyteen you do sound down in the dumps. My best advice, I am sorry to say, is to switch off MN while working. I did that yesterday evening (usually I toggle between the two on the laptop, it's a recipe for failure!) and I got a heap of work done that was very overdue. I have to proof and correct it today, it's not finished, but I feel such relief. It hangs over you like the bad fairy godmother and pollutes all your other time. I really hope you can get it done. Hugs for your brother's birthday, too. That's tough.

[[http://lifeinstyle.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/04/25/birthday_cake_2.jpg Happy Birthday}} albs blow 'em out and hand round the slices, eh?

TS, bealcain, oops good luck, may things speed along for you!

ataraxis don't let the prickish meeting bastards get you down. How distant it will all seem in a little while when you have your baby in your arms and aren't going back to work for what will seem like forever.

I am behind on the thread so can't put everyone in except Sazzles I was scanning the thread and saw half a sentence and thought I bet that's Sazzles and it was! Of course I can't remember what it was now, thereby ending a deathly dull anecdote with no punchline at all .

My bleedin ankles are ginormous today, what's going on? Less cankle, more thankle.

VintageGardenia · 16/07/2008 10:28

Where did the thread go...?

Spooooky wooooh....

VintageGardenia · 16/07/2008 10:29

Cor where has the whole of MN gone?

Why did the aliens take everyone but me...?

VintageGardenia · 16/07/2008 10:50

Oooh we're back.

Correction:
Happy Birthday albs blow 'em out and hand round the slices, eh?

And sazzles it was the thing about putting a colander over the loo. VV funny .

pregnancy1 · 16/07/2008 10:51

I thought it was just me! Seems okay now though...

ChaCha · 16/07/2008 11:03

Happy Birthday ALBS

Morning to everyone else.

Shazza - Where I was born and raised! My parents were actually in South Kensingtion (Queensgate to be precise) until i was months old and then we moved to N.Kensington. I still love going there now - lots and lots of memories.

Out to garden to enjoy sunshine x

Buckets · 16/07/2008 11:18

CC: 'bealcain how are your contractions now? How is that baby staying in? Must have crampons on his/her feet'

LOL, maybe it's Spiderman!

pertelote · 16/07/2008 11:29

Happy birthday ALBS!

to everyone who's having a crap day. I'm not quite awake enough yet to tell whether I'm having a good one or a bad one - but I have a delivery expected (of baby stuff, not baby!) which forces me to stay in (and take it easy? Not essential but feels logical to me!) so it could be worse.

dizzydixies · 16/07/2008 11:38

Happy Birthday ALBS!!!

who asked me about using August? Think it was Buckets? I'd LOVE to but am due to be sectioned on 30th if I don't go sooner so it would have to be July lol

shazza you just need to knacker them in the morning so come afternoon they'll either want a wee nap or some quiet time

TS glad you're doing ok - all getting very exciting on here

CC mum doing ok I think, am never very sure if they tell me everything up here they've changed her pain meds as she is having pains in her chest now - she's convinced its cramp but the last scan showed tumours in her left lung so we're more inclined to believe it could possibly be that - no need to put that idea into her head though. My aunt stayed overnight with her in the hospice last night (there is a pull down bed in her room) as she is having anxiety/panic attacks so that seems to have helped. Am coping ok with it all although cannot help feeling a tad guilty that I can't be there to do more for them all.

VG am SOOOOOO with you there on the ankles/cankles/thankles - mine now dno't go down at ALL even after being in bed overnight

I finally slept through last night HURRAH!! dd1 was up but I left dh to deal with it and then they were both up early so in nursery for 8am had intended to do a tonne of housework but friend turned up and we got yapping - have done 2 loads of washing and hung them out if that counts?!?

just checking in on everyone wishing you all a lovely happy sunny Wed before I try to entertain the girls this afternoon.

dizzydixies · 16/07/2008 11:51

OH OH OH OH OH

I just got my fabulous nipple cream half price from the website summer sale - if anyone hasn't got some yet I can highly recommend this stuff - its FAB, I used it both times for the girls and they have some lovely stuff

active birth centre

half price discount applied at the basket

PetitFilou1 · 16/07/2008 12:02

Hello all
Quickly checking in before going off to town to buy stuff for hospital bag I thought I wouldn't need ..... as well as general jobs.

Cyteen It is normal to feel unsexy, a vessel for the baby and generally fed up at this stage. You will get your mojo back don't worry - it just takes a while. Chin up and keep pedalling.

dizzy you are doing your best with your mum - and I think we'd all agree you are providing plenty of support especially considering you are heavily pregnant.

PetitFilou1 · 16/07/2008 12:02

Oh and Hpy Bday to Albs too!

cyteen · 16/07/2008 12:33

Thanks for your support girls, honestly I don't know what I'd do without you....I'm sorry to be so self-involved atm Need to give myself a good kick up the arse! Anyway, have emailed my tutor with what I've done so far - it's still in a half-formed state but since I have no idea where to go with it from here I thought the best thing was to show what I've been doing and ask for some help. Asking for help is not a strong point with me, but I'm trying to make myself understand that it's okay, that you don't have to get everything right first time on your own.

So no more stressing out about uni - I'm done for the time being. It's just pre-baby time all the way now!

dizzy all best to your mum Hope the revised pain meds do their business for her.

sarahnh · 16/07/2008 12:44

Happy birthday ALBS....

Girls i need help... all morning i have been feeling like i need a wee(sorry tmi) every 5 minutes and i keep getting eye watering cramps right up me.. for want of a better phraze like a knitting needle sticking up me... getting occasional period cramps and niggley back... is this just a warm up?? anyone else experiencing this??? i had three false labours with dd and i really don't want to get worked up this time with dd to consider!!!! thank you as always xxxx

TwilightSurfer · 16/07/2008 13:03

Sarahnh that sounds like what sent me to the maternity ward on Saturday. All we could conclude was that it was more of the baby settling into my pelvic area. Water, blood, contractions were the KEY markers they said for me to watch for. Pain....well it's just a part of the whole process. Try a little pain med and see if that eases it.

Cyteen, Preg1, Shazza {{{hugs}}} for various reasons

ALBS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

more in a moment...

TwilightSurfer · 16/07/2008 13:13

ALERT: ME POST

Slept all night very well. Even comfortably. This morning baby feels like she's head butting my pelvic bone. Movements have changed too so I'm thinking she's turned around a little (facing the correct way for proper birth). Undercarriage feels swollenish and kinda like that opening lotus (Bealcain). DH asked me to hold off calling his mom because he thinks we have a bit longer....I'm not too sure about that. Kinda think that sealed our fate for early delivery. If I had my wish, I'd ask if I could hold on till Friday at least. All I want to do right now is sleep and when I do close my eyes I'm sleeping very HARD (which makes me think my bodies prepping for ).

Also having horrible horrible pregnancy brain. I am totally scattered. My attention span is total crap. All that and I have a I don't give a sh$t attitude. I've got bigger fish to fry!!! Nothings much bigger than pushing a human out your .
