Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MarkStretch · 12/07/2008 10:25

I didn't ask in the end loopy- they told me it would be done at 16 weeks.

I heard dd's at 12 weeks though.

herbgarden · 12/07/2008 13:59

Anyone tried making smoothies?? I've found they make me feel temporarily better !! particularly now strawberries are cheaper - my sis bought me one of those smoothie makers a couple of years ago so have been putting it to good use. They are yummy....other than that markstretch I so need to get with the healthy eating. Had end of week, can't be bothered syndrome last night and ended up having fish fingers and spaghetti hoops - I'm usually fairly good with the cooking from scratch thing but I so can't be arsed to do that or anything else much...

DH asked last night when I would reach my "blooming" stage as he said he'd quite had enough of me for now !!!...I am being a miserable bitch granted but that was a bit mean me thinks !!

MarkStretch · 12/07/2008 14:31

I have bought the book.

I am making Sausage Casserole with Butter Beans and Savoy Cabbage for dinner.

Will report back.

hergarden- I love smoothies! My fav is banana, honey and oat. It's delicious and really filling.

Just come back from a week in Devon - typically this was when my ms decided to start in earnest. I've literally been feeling sick all day every day. I just wish I could have one week of sickness and get it out of the way. At least it's a good sign though as when I had a mc in February my symptoms had disappeared by now.

PinkTulips · 12/07/2008 19:51

evening all, went out last night and it turns out one of my friends is pregnant too.... 8 weeks! we both knew the other was trying so the second we saw each other we blabbed, then spent the rest of the night cornered with her sister and our other friend who knew about both of us but couldn't tell the other, lol. was more fun than i thought.... crawled in at 2am and didn't get to sleep til 3.30am thanks to dp

so shattered today though and had all the shopping to do... eeek!

have friends calling round tomorrow with their ds who is the same age as dd. they live 1.5 hours away so we don't get to see them often but they wanted to come up as soon as they heard i was preg... secrets well and truely out here

MarkStretch · 13/07/2008 07:58

Morning.

What a quiet weekend- where is everyone?!

Dinner was delicious but I was so knackered I fell asleep at 8pm and slept til 7am!

It's DH birthday today and he has chosen stew and dumplings for dinner so will be back in the kitchen making that and creating a thrown together fabulous birthday cake.

WarmFuzzy · 13/07/2008 09:57

If everybody is feeling anything like me, they are simply too knackered to post anything. Roll on the next trimester when we all get energised and BLOOM!

LittleMissNorty · 13/07/2008 09:59

hear hear ...its only 10am and I'm so tired.....

Markstretch....v impressed with your cooking abilities.....takes all my energy to throw together something out of the freezer atm

dinkystinky · 13/07/2008 10:23

Hello all - glad some of you are finding the energy to actually do some cooking - my poor husband has mostly been tasked with doing the cooking for the past few weeks... Markstretch - would you recommend the Tana Ramsey book? Love cookery books - just can never find the patience to actually cook the stuff from them.

Have had rather hectic week with lots of trips out to gigs this week - so lots of late nights, which probably isnt helping the exhaustion at all - and more to come next week! Remember from when had DS that you turn into a virtual hermit ater baby arrives (with v good reason) so determined to cram in as much as I can over then next 7 months or so (am positive this one is going to be everybit as late as DS was...)

MarkStretch · 13/07/2008 11:02

Dinky- yes the book looks quite good. It's split up into section like 'from the cupboard', 'children's party food', 'quick suppers' etc which is handy.

It took all my energy yesterday LMN! Hence the 11 hr sleep! [lazy cow emoticon]

I bought some of these yesterday. They are great for wearing under your normal tops to disguise the fact you're trousers are undone or held together with elastic/nappypin/hairband.

MarkStretch · 13/07/2008 11:03

Sorry, bad grammar- that should say your trousers.

rosieposey · 13/07/2008 12:05

Hello all havent posted for a couple of days as was busy organising housewarming bbq for last night. Spent all day cooking and eventually cooked all the freshly marinaded meat indoors as it chucked it down last night. Am absolutely knackered today and just about to go to Berkshire for a friends birthday bbq ( please god no more bbq's!!!)
Markstretch all that food food sounds yummy and very non barbequey! (specially the one involving stew and dumplings yum!)

I dont think ive had MS before but am wondering if im getting a smattering of it this time? Its only when i hungry but i feel all rubbish and nauseous and sometimes wretch a bit till i eat ... mind you im pretty sure i used to feel a bit like that when i was hungry when i wasn't pregnant so not sure if it is Ms or not

8 weeks yesterday - yippee! - only another 3 weeks and 6 days to go and im a third of the way there!( whos counting? not me! lol ) Hope everyone else is having a nice and relaxing weekend - im going to crash sooo early tonight i just know it as ive only had 6 hours sleep - not quite sure how i managed to stay up till 3 but the guests just wouldn't bugger off!

herbgarden · 13/07/2008 19:15

I've just started to have to undo my trousers this weekend - but usually by about 4pm when I am realllly bloated.....

MarkStretch · 13/07/2008 19:22

I have eaten stew and dumplings and a wedge of chocolate cake. OOffff.

herbgarden · 13/07/2008 19:52

I had roast lamb about 5pm but having seen the words stew and dumplings it's made me peckish ....

MarkStretch · 13/07/2008 20:07

Would send you the left overs....if there were any....bleurgh, oooff.

charlie7 · 13/07/2008 21:23

Hi, just wondered if I could join this group? I am due on 28th Feb 2009, second baby. Quite new to mumsnet but would like the support and chat from people going through the same things as me! I have recently moved to a completely new area so it is quite a stressful time all in all! I have terrible morning sickness which lasts all day and night, eating loads to try to stop it so feel that I am enormous already - only 7 weeks! Also, very emotional about the slightest thing. Even though I have been through this before I had forgotten what it is like!

PinkTulips · 13/07/2008 21:24

have just heard fro a scan place only 45 mins away and they're willing to squeeze me in for an early scan for 100 euros. dp really wants to go for it too for peace of mind so i'm going to book it for about 12 weeks and use the childrens allowance money. such a relief not the have to wait til september to make sure everythings as ok as it can be.

my friend who's 8 weeks has had one already due to cervical cancer and 4 MCs and saw a heartbeat... the sonographer told her that once a heartbeat is seen the chances of MC drop by 95%, thought i'd share that for all you lucky ones who've seen baba already

had our friends around today so kids are worn out and so am i, lol. ds got a birthday present already so he's delighted with himself and dd was just happy to see her 'best friend' for the first time in 5 months.

am heartbroken tonight though.... ds didn't want his bedtime feed he told me 'i don't want mama milk' and i almost cried..... the end is nigh! thought i'd be relieved when this day came but same as when dd stopped it's such a sad moment. oh well, he'll probably still have his morning feed (i hope) so i have a little while of my baby yet.... sniff sniff.

PinkTulips · 13/07/2008 21:30

congratulations charlie7, i'll add you to the list

McDreamy · 14/07/2008 05:58

Morning ladies! Had a fairly rough weekend feeling sick and exhausted! My DH was wonderful and kept the children entertained for most of it for me. I have my scan tomorrow at 11 (9am UK time) o keep your fingers crossed for me! Not sure what I going to do with myself all morning tomorrow!

Only 4 more sleeps and I am home to the UK for a month!!! Can't wait to escape this heat, I am sure it's making my symptoms worse. Right off for a cool shower, hope you all have a symptom free day -roll on the 2nd trimester!!!!

LittleMissNorty · 14/07/2008 08:01

Ohhhh good luck McDreamy....let us know how you get on

laidbackinengland · 14/07/2008 08:43

Yes good luck McDreamy... hope it all goes well with the scan.

Had a lovely weekend with the inlaws - didn't have to cook once and lots of willing entertainers for the kids.

I have an interview this afternoon for a temporary promotion at work so am meant to be preparing for that this morning (fat chance with DS2 and DS3 rampaging !). Anyway, I think it's between me and another person, so not fierce competition, but I'm a bit ho hum about it anyway !!

12 weeks today and 9 days until my scan ! Hooray !

Hope everyone feeling OK today ?

McDreamy · 14/07/2008 08:47

Has your MS passed Laidback?

laidbackinengland · 14/07/2008 09:19

Yup, pretty much gone UNLESS faced with a grim nappy or milky puke ...

Hopefully I will be blooming sometime soon !
