Found a great way of keeping my ordinary trousers together today....tried on a pair of my old mat linen trousers but for some reason are reaaaally short (confused as I'm only just over 5ft and don't remember them hovering round the ankle before )....so ditched them and went back to usual white linens (thought it might be hot today and we were off out so thought jeans might be hot)- which I'm struggling to now do up - anyway - found some of that elastic with little button holes in which I'd bought for some of ds shorts which are a bit big - cut off a bit and looped one end round the button which does up on the inside of said trousers and other end to the button for the outside and then did the zip up - wore long top over and hey presto !!...Only works I s'pose if you have an inside and outside button !!.....

Sorry, long and rambling nerdy explanation but thought I'd share it - it did in fact chuck it down here all day so mat jeans would have been fine !!

PinkTulips · 03/08/2008 21:00

a hairband hooked around the button, looped through the button hole and hooked onto the button again works very well too. just make sure you have a long top or a skirt on over the pants

Other theories for MS are the lowered immune system (to stop you from attacking the foreign body) causing you to be sick from bugs. Iron levels, not sure the idea behind this one but low levels are supposed to make you sicker - I am drinking a lot of coke (normally it gives me heartburn but now I'm almost craving it) and not getting MS, so I can see that.

Is anyone else getting hairy where they shouldn't be? I'm getting a beard! I have a raised mole on my face that gains a few more hairs each pregnancy and I'm sure they grow faster when I'm pregnant.

PinkTulips · 03/08/2008 21:29

my tummy is furry

and my leg hair and eybrows are growing at an incredible rate, i'm having to shave my legs every few days and pluck constantly

am really spotty as well so not a good look going on atm

MarkStretch · 04/08/2008 07:31

Wow we sound like an attractive bunch!

I too am a very hairy person all of a sudden. I have an appointment tomorrow to get eyebrows and top lip waxed and I have really hairy legs.

Still have a chin full of acne too.

I am back at work today- boo!

Tomorrow dd goes to her Dad's in Ireland for 10 days. I really really miss her when she goes but normally I fill my time with nights out and trips to the pub- not this time!

DH and I have the weekend off together so as we are skint and pregnant we have decided just to stay in bed and have lie in and read the papers and drink tea and eat food that dd doesn't like. Might be the last time we have the chance before the little one arrives.

dinkystinky · 04/08/2008 10:34

Morning all. Ds decided to sleep in till all of 6.15 this morning: Pinktulips - would love to do what you do, but if we bring him into our bedroom when he wakes up ridiculously early we just get lots of toddler head-bopping and screams of "wake up mummy/daddy" until we give in and get up!

Re hairiness - yes, have noticed that have got more hairy since getting pregnant. Went to get my legs waxed yesterday (about time as my legs were ressembling Chewbacca's) and it certainly took alot longer than normal!

Hope all good with everyone else. Pinktulips - hope you're feeling better today and the pains have gone and all is ok. Hope you're ok Laidback and have spoken with maternity unit.

PinkTulips · 04/08/2008 10:55

morning all, have just gotton up thanks to lazy babies falling asleep with us (was less than pleased when dd turned up at 4am and wouldn't settle though thankfully she dropped off eventually!

hope you're ok laidback.

laidbackinengland · 04/08/2008 11:09

Morning spotty and hairy friends

I have spoken to my midwife and he has arranged a scan for me at 1.20 to be checked out.

Will let you know how it goes this afternoon.

Fingers crossed.

TinkerBellesMum · 04/08/2008 11:32

laidback, just read your post from Saturday. I'm really sorry to hear you were bleeding, I know how scary it is because that was me last week. I hope that, like with me, it's just something random. I think you would know by now if there was more to it.

oooggs · 04/08/2008 12:03

laidbackinengland · 04/08/2008 16:48

Hello...all OK !!

Went for scan - baby seemed fine , heartbeat seen and no indiations why bleed occurred. So, 'just one of those things'....

I asked te nurse and Dr if I needed to lay off housework (with pleading eyes) but no such luck !

Releived and back in the game !

LittleMissNorty · 04/08/2008 16:51

Come over here and join the mysterious bleeding club!

Glad everything's ok.

MarkStretch · 04/08/2008 17:54

Phew Laidback, I am pleased for you. I bled for the first 6 months of my pregnancy with dd- turns out is was cervical erosions but it is so common and luckily not often serious.

I couldn't believe some of the heavy blood loss I had with her, I felt sure she would be in danger but she was absolutely fine.

rosieposey · 04/08/2008 18:39

Laidback thats great news

Gina80 · 04/08/2008 19:10

am having first really insane cravings - for V8 vegetable juice.

Had one yesterday - mmmm - had another one today and want more now.

I drank buckets of it when I was pg with ds.

Only trouble is that it adds acid to my already acid stomach.

stuffs Rennies in gob

MarkStretch · 04/08/2008 19:53

I have been craving egg mayonnaise for days.

Am making it tomorrow for dd and I in 'going to the airport' sandwiches.
