Singing, sorry to hear you are having a tough time

Work is stupid stupid stupid today.

My work mobile is broken, I cannot text or ring anyone and they cannot contact me, and the programme I use on my laptop is refusing to open. But in order to fix this problem I have to ring our IT services and I have NO PHONE.

Sod it. I'm going to look at baby things instead.

MarkStretch · 17/07/2008 14:41

Oooh but I did speak to someone earlier today who found out the sex at a 16 week scan. I thought that was quite early too.

Singingintherain · 17/07/2008 14:45

I am not sure how he did it. The picture was not too bad and I got a "Salute". I laughed as it would not lie still. I think that because he was looking at the state of the cord that he spun the probe round and managed to see it from the feet upwards.

I would never have thought it possible to tell so early. But it is early and he could be wrong. DH is pleased though. I wanted to know what it was going to be, but, I knew that I would never ask. So to be told, well saves me asking. It still will be exciting, just in case he was wrong. I am not going to ask again.

Just found out that the earliest you can tell is between 11 and 12 weeks, with an error rate of about 10%. So, yes, it was early to see. I was expecting a higher error rate though, just to add a bit of excitment.

Wow singing that is early - im absolutely desperate to know what im having as im rubbish at surprises so i booked in with babybond in Cirencester at 16+4 for a gender scan last week I was surprised they could do them that early but apparently if baby performs properly i should know what flavour on the 10th Sept! Not worried about a boy or a girl just looking forward to getting some shopping as neutral colours are ok for the first few days but i want to buy pink or blue!

I hope your heamatoma reduces at the very least - what do they think will happen, will it go away eventually? Ill keep my fingers crossed for you. Thats crap that your holiday got reduced - sods law

Knax · 17/07/2008 15:09

so excited about tomorrow - I hope I get some sleep (and am a week ahead than I think I am )

PinkTulips · 17/07/2008 19:59

sorry knax

and sorry you're having such a rough time singing. i really hope the bedrest does the job and all is on the mend by the next scan.

how mad that he could tell the sex.... genitals are barely developing at that stage, i wouldn't go buyig anything too gender specific

MamaGoose · 17/07/2008 21:25

Hello ladies

My word, you lot talk! I can't keep up.

Sad that we've lost so many people. :-(

Thanks for the advice on the progesterone the other day - it put my mind at rest at bit.

Well I've had my booking bloods done and had my nuchal fold scan yesterday. All's well. They've given me a due date a few days earlier than I thought but I'm not sure I'll bother to change the list. The baby was leaping around like a loony in there - no wonder I am completely exhausted!!! I dropped my boys off this morning and really couldn't move off the sofa for about three hours!

Oh and the weird, vivid dreams - I seem to have had an affair with everyone I know! What is going on with that!!?

I am completely obsessed with eating pasta, tomatoes and garlic! Why?

I look four+ months pregnant, not three. Having got through the scan I did the inevitable wardrobe clearout today. It depresses me to stare at lots of clothes I can't wear and let's face it, won't be able to till some time after the birth so they've been moved to the spare room! It's maternity clothes and bigger sizes for me from now on....

xx

PinkTulips · 17/07/2008 22:45

good plan mamagoose, when i was preg with ds i boxed up everything i couldn't wear til i was back to normal weight and shoved them under the bed. out of sight out of mind.

nice to know i'm not the only one with really strange vivid dreams..... i keep waking up half convinced that my dream is reality and the kids jumping on my head are the dream didn't help that dd came in covered in blood this morning from yet another nosebleed.... took my poor brain a few minutes to comprehend that one!

TinkerBellesMum · 18/07/2008 00:02

Rosie, dreams are a symptom, usually bizarre or sexual! If I read the doctor who thread before I log off I will have DW dreams all night!

Question I've been meaning to ask about pregnancy symptoms, does anyone else find they want sex more often when pregnant? TBD is actually complaining!

Singing, I don't see how he could tell, there's nothing to tell at this stage. 14 weeks is when the genitals become male or female and very occasionally you can see the difference that soon. Usually 20 weeks is when they're formed enough to tell. (Funnily enough though you can't tell easily by looking at a baby born that stage, as crude as it sounds we knew Lily-Hope was a girl by counting the holes).

LittleSarah · 18/07/2008 09:50

Knax - so sorry.

dinkystinky - glad to hear you feel the same. I think I'll be putting on weight v v soon as my appetite has recently begun to increase muchos. Last night we were going to df's mum's for dinner and I had a fairy cake and toast before we went. It was lucky I did in the end there were loads of people there and just a small buffet thing! Did have some wine though and felt pretty sick this morning.

Tink - at first slightly less sex as felt far too sick and tired but now still doing it quite a lot. Don't think want it particularly more but certainly no decrease in sex drive!

Singing - I hope things get better for you soon. Really, what you've been going through makes me feel bad for being such a moan!

McDreamy · 18/07/2008 09:51

Coming back to the UK today - can't wait!!! I might not be around alot for he next month as my internet connection might be a bit patchy depending on where I am!! Have a good month everyone and see you all in the middle of August

oooggs · 18/07/2008 10:42

scan fine, 12 weeks exactly, due 30 Jan ONE BABY

MamaGoose · 18/07/2008 10:53

Tink/LittleSarah - I had a friend who told me she was insatiable when pregnant - I guess it's a bit like the disclaimer on the end of a mortgage - rates (of desire) can go up as well as down!!
I am pretty convinced that my DP is making the most of my bigger boobs whilst not looking 'too pregnant' at the moment though - and it definitely gets more logistically difficult as you get bigger! And all the extra blood flow in that area - amazing orgasms, one of the (very) few benefits of pregnancy surely.

MamaGoose · 18/07/2008 11:01

Oooggs - congratulations. We share a due date!

TinkerBellesMum · 18/07/2008 11:09

I think a lot of it depends on how you feel with other symptoms. I don't think it is difficult to have sex later on, you just have to become more imaginative

I can't believe TBD is complaining though!

herbgarden · 18/07/2008 11:27

sex ....what's that dh seemed relieved that I was finally pregnant and he could have a rest

oooggs · 18/07/2008 11:39

No sex here

I have had 4 pregnancies and the pregnacy I had sex during (no.3) I miscarried - so no sex here until baby is 6 mths

laidbackinengland · 18/07/2008 11:49

Hi all ! Sorry to hear knax's news.

I've just been at DS1's leavers' assembley today as he is finishing primary school today. They were all so emotional and did some great dances/singing/plays to keep us amused.

DH and I have always had lots of sex and it normally stays roughly the same during pregnancy - but I agree with mamagoose - it can be different and give different orgasms !

Oogs - so glad that there is only one in there ! Going from three to five would surely be a nightmare !!
