TinkerBellesMum · 16/07/2008 17:39

psst MarkStretch, me too, I just get travel sick but haven't actually thrown up this time (three times last time).

MarkStretch · 16/07/2008 18:04

Ahhhh that's cool onward.

DD and I are making an elephant mask for her rainbows parade tomorrow and it is a nightmare. It looks shit.

herbgarden · 16/07/2008 18:12

I haven't thrown up either just have all day nausea too together with this slightly horrible acidy lump in my throat all the time.

I lost my Blackberry phone on Friday and couldn't find it anywhere - when I realised I'd lost it I then hunted everywhere - I decided to look in the kitchen bin (knowing what I'm like) before I took the bag outside and found it vibrating amongst the potato peelings. DH says I am going bonkers.....

haventgotaclue · 16/07/2008 20:22

Right, I give up! I've looked and looked and can't work out how to add my name to the list of everyone due in February - what am I missing?

Will writing a message be enough? I have added all my details to my profile and put in my (guestimated) due date. Please help....

imaginewittynamehere · 16/07/2008 20:31

Haventgotaclue Welcome!!

To add yourself just cut & paste the most recent list & add yourself - well I have added you but as I can't see your profile I couldn't put the date, so cut & paste & update your details!!

Newb really sorry to hear your news - really hope you are ready to join in another antenatal group soon

Weekend away was ok - although the journey there took half as long again as normal stopping for dd to use the potty - oh the joys of being a t the beck & call of a toddler's bladder!!

I've been getting all food faddy - I want something, cook it & then can't face it, have just eaten plain potato only for tea as a result!!

On a positive note spoke to the antenatal clinic today who gave me a direct number for the scan desk who will book me a scan there & then if I call tomorrow morning, hooray!! (although I'm sure it isn't meant to be this hard - why they just can't send you a date in a timely maner I'll never know)

haventgotaclue · 16/07/2008 20:38

Thanks Imaginewittynamehere! Don't know why I didn't get it!

PinkTulips · 16/07/2008 21:30

evening all, markstretch you're not alone, i passed out on the couch today too

i found my stray cats kittens today! i've been feeding her for about 3/4 months and she was preg when i started feeding her but never seemed to care for any kittens when they were born and went into heat less than a week later i was never sure if they died or she abandoned them.

she had another litter last week and i went hunting for them today nad found them in the sheds down at the end of the estate curled up on a wad of insulation material... huge and fat and well fed so my worries about her parenting skills have eased. 3 black and white and one black so i think my tomcat is probably the father as he's jet black too

kids were very excited and want to go back again to visit them. i need to contact the ispca though and see if there's any chance they'd spay her and release her back into her own patch like they do in some areas, she's so tiny of she keeps having kittens she'll be dead in no time, and our village will be overrun with black and white strays!

rosieposey · 16/07/2008 21:49

Hmmm im not actually being sick either although when i get up if i get hungry i feel a bit nauseous but other than that no MS at all. My boobs are far less painful than they were although still tender and im pretty tired a lot of the time but i cant complain too much about symtoms because they arent too bad at all.

Welcome haventgotaclue and congrats! Onwardandupward how many weeks are you? you are sooo lucky to hear your lo's heartbeat - i cant wait for that.

onwardandupward · 16/07/2008 22:01

I'm 10 weeks + er 4 days. My midwife said it wouldn't mean anything if she couldn't hear one, but we might get lucky. And we did!

PinkTulips · 16/07/2008 22:57

ooo, i'm excited about my gp visit on saturday now! gp said she'd give a listen and see and i'll be 11+3 so might have a chance of hearing baba

you must be so relieved onwardandupward.... i'm always so much more relaxed after hearing the heartbeat.

rosieposey · 17/07/2008 07:56

Morning all!

Yep its lovely when you hear the heartbeat I was thinking about getting one of those home doppler thingys later on in my pregnacy but i dont think they work as well on er 'well padded' women lol and im not sure how many weeks they work from either.

Is anyone being plauged by weird dreams? Im not actually sure if its a symptom of pregnancy but i dream the weirdest stuff every night without fail ...

oooggs · 17/07/2008 09:02

morning 11+ 6 and scan tomorrow, you never know I could be further on than I think >>>

laidbackinengland · 17/07/2008 09:09

Good luck with your scan tomorrow oooggs. And welcome to haven'tgotaclue.

Rosie- last night I had a dream about DH songging a transexual man in a skip . What fun !

LittleSarah · 17/07/2008 09:23

Morning.

My sickness has been all nausea too, but VERY unpleasant!

Have been feeling not pregnant recently. Not physically - still feeling sick here and there and tired - but mentally. Think it's because I haven't really put on any weight and the scan is three weeks away and I just want to see or hear some proof everything is well. Boo.

McDreamy, great news about your scan and welcome to haventaclue!

laidbackinengland · 17/07/2008 09:25

snogging rather songging !

rosieposey · 17/07/2008 09:42

Lol laidback so it isnt just me then! Good luck with your scan tomorrow oooggs - cant wait to be where you are you should see arms and legs and allsorts oh well only another 3 weeks to go ...

Off camping on Saturday night - not my idea i hasten to add but DC and DP think it will be excellent fun and we have a whole group of friends going too - think this will be the time when i announce that i am enciente to all of our friends as i wont get away with not drinking the ubiquitous beer or wine i think. Actually upon reflection we wont be going if its raining - or i wont be at any rate!

theSuburbanDryad · 17/07/2008 09:53

Quick message for McDreamy!!

I've lost your address to send the Happy Feet thingy to your dd. Can you email me again pls?

dinkystinky · 17/07/2008 10:31

Will keep my fingers crossed for nice weather for you at the weekend Rosieposey. We're off camping for the first time ever (well, camping-lite in a tipi) in just over 3 weeks (straight after my scan infact) - DH v excited, me less so as am dreading putting up with overexcited toddler in a tipi for a week if it rains all week. Also, as am currently needing the loo about 4 times a night, I suspect I'll be putting DS's potty (which he is currently either studiously ignoring or trying to use as a shoe or hat) to good use rather than stumbling over fields and into trees to try to find the loo in the middle of the night.. ho hum.

LittleSarah - while feel pregnant physically (due to exchausted body) dont feel pregnant mentally either (even though I have put on weight as have cut right back on exercise regime and been eating my way through the exhaustion) so know what you mean....

LittleMissNorty · 17/07/2008 10:34

Morning all still knackered and sick here and now sore boobs to go with it all....

Think odd dreams are a pregnancy symptom....I'm certainly getting them.....although I have to admit, not about my DH snogging transexuals in a skip

MarkStretch · 17/07/2008 11:21

I just rang my hospital to chase up my scan date.

The receptionist has my referral (good start), they then have to request my notes, my notes then have to go to the consultant (who is only in on Tuesdays), then he reads then and passes them onto the midwife, who reads them, the she passes them back to the receptionist who makes my appointment.

I think I might be waiting a while....

dinkystinky · 17/07/2008 11:43

Wow, Markstretch - that's the most bureaucracy I've come across to make a scan appointement. Can you imagine if all businesses were run like that - nothing would ever get done!

rosieposey · 17/07/2008 11:46

Ohhh markstretch they sound really well organised, a bit like my lot ... still have only had to chase them up once so far so lets see ...

Dinkystinky this is the first time ive camped since i was about 14 with my school and i forgot completely about the fact that im up at least twice during the night needing the loo too. Trouble is there are quite a few friends in tents around us and im rubbish at navigating my way in the dark ... added to that im thinking that if i take an 'emergency bucket' it will be a bit er, loud in the middle of the night. There is no way im staggering across a forest in the middle of the night (saw a really scary film recently involving camping in woods and a talking cow ect ect so i think there is going to be nothing for it but to wake DP up and make him come with me to the nearest bush! God i dont think i thought this camping malarky through properly as have also promised to take girls to Alton Towers camping for 3 days next month for DD's 16th Oh dear...

Singingintherain · 17/07/2008 14:32

Hi all. Hope you are all well. I have not been on for a while due to many problems with pregnancy and I have not felt like talking much. I shall read back later to find out more about what has been happening on here.

I have been bleeding on and off for a few weeks now and have had loads of pain. I visited my Emergency Department a few times as well, but was told off for not using the services of my GP and only to go back if the bleeding as severe enough to fill a towel. I waited all week and had a routine GP Gynae appointment yesterday, or I thought I did. When I got there with my DH who had taken time off, they told me they had no record of my appointment. What they had done was not read the note from the Midwife that said 16th July and made the appointment for the 16th June. They said that they could not see me and that the next available appointment was 5th August and that would be fine. It was not fine as I would then be 15 weeks with no ante natal care from them, including no scans and blood tests or physical examination. They just refused to see me at all.

My DH went to see the Doctor last night and talked about me and the Doctor was very annoyed and tried to get an earlier appointment but they would not help him either, so he wrote an emergency referral the Hospital and a note to give the complaints department saying that it was bad administration on their part.

The complaint was dealt with this morning at the hospital and they are trying to sort out another appointment even with another Health Centre. But they did see me this morning in the Emergency Gynae Department and it was really helpful. The Doctor spoke very good English and was very gently and ecplained everything he did. He was very pleased with the baby and everything looked good. He did say that there was bad news that they haematoma was growing and now I have to stay in bed for 48hours then 48 with little movement and then 48 hours with little walking. He wants me to be re-scanned in 10 days. I have also been prescribed a double dose of progesterone of 200mg to help the placenta.

The Doctor was so busy with the scan looking at the cord etc. that he turned round and said I think it is a ....... I was [shocked]. I did not want to know as I have 2dd and was not bothered what I had as I love surprises. I can not believe that he could tell at 10w+4days. So I got one big surprise today instead.

My DH was in with me at the time, which they do not normally allow. If I had been on my own I do not know if I could have kept the secret.

Things have been not going to plan with my holiday either as I booked and paid for it last night and was really pleased. My dd got up this morning and checked what the availability was like today and they had reduced it by £250. If I had only waited 12 hours longer to book it. .

dinkystinky · 17/07/2008 14:39

Singing - am so sorry you've been having such a hard time. Sometimes I think medical services are there to make pregnant women's lives harder rather than easeir. Am glad you did get to see a doctor in he end and that the baby is growing well and will cross my fingers that all stays well with the baby (and hopefully with you too!). Cant believe they can tell the sex at 10 weeks!

I make it a golden rule never to check availability after paying for a holiday - sods law means the price always goes down if I check (and generally up if I dont check)
