how did the scan go McDreamy?
I've got my scan on thursday!! had a dream last night that I lost my DS while out shopping, it was so scary - probably related to the scan!
Anyone else having scary / vivid dreams?
Knax xxx

McDreamy · 15/07/2008 20:19

Scan went well thanks, saw a heartbeat, measured 8+3 compared to my dates of 8+5 so fairly accurate. What a relief
Got a nuchal scan 2 days after I get back from the UK.

McDreamy · 15/07/2008 20:20

I am working like a mad-woman at work so days are going by very fast. Nine weeks tomorrow but still no-one but DH knows! Is anyone else keeping it mum from the wider world? I wonder if I'm being over-cautious in not spreading the news a little? I suppose the dating scan next week will generate a little photo - that will be a good prop to introduce the idea of a sibling to DS.

So sorry to hear Newb's sad news.

TinkerBellesMum · 16/07/2008 00:03

I've had the odd touch of heartburn, not as bad as last time though. Funny thing is normally caffeine gives me heartburn, but I'm drinking loads of coke at the moment and feeling fine.

I'm getting a very strange thing at the moment, don't know if anyone else can help. I feel like I need to chew, can't explain it, very odd sensation. It continues down my neck and chest making me feel almost tense, almost like I'm about to go into a panic attack or asthma attack. I can't explain it well, it's not a definite feeling, only "almosts". I think I need a stick of gum!

oooggs · 16/07/2008 08:35

newb - babydust heading your way - I'm sorry

MarkStretch · 16/07/2008 09:09

Tink it sounds a bit like anxiety- are you stressed?

dinkystinky · 16/07/2008 09:10

newb - am so sorry. Lots of babydust being sent your way...

TinkerBellesMum · 16/07/2008 09:31

Not really, no more than normal it seems to have cleared up this morning. It didn't seem as strong as I would normally get from stress, but then I don't normally get that sort of feeling without it being a panic attack or something. I've been a bit lapse with my ACT medication, so don't know if it's to do with that.

PinkTulips · 16/07/2008 11:29

hey all, feeling really weird today, like my head is stuffed with cotton wool. think i need to start going to bed at a normal mommy time

raining here again and freezing cold, think nick jr is going be on early today!

TBM, that sounds like tension of some kind. are you stressing yourself out atm? maybe a nice relaxing even ing being pampered by dp is in order?

rosieposey · 16/07/2008 12:17

Hi all, phoned doctors this morning to find out if someone had let the midwife know i was even pregnant and sent off all the relevant paperwork but apparently not Its not the end of the world but i am nine weeks on Sat and this time in my last pregnancies i was under the hospital consultant by now and i was wondering when they would pull their finger out - anyway doctor wrote a letter to the midwife and hospital whilst i was there this morning so hopefully not too long now

So sorry to hear about your news Newb - good luck and lots of baby dust to you both for next time.

Tink maybe you are just doing too much and need to take it a little more easily ( easier said that done with a babytink running around i know) Whats ACT meds? Still trying to work out all these abbreviations lol

PinkTulips · 16/07/2008 12:42

rosie, am starting to wonder if the same thing has happened to me. i posted the referal letters myself so know they went off but haven't heard from hospital or health board yet.... grrr!

just had a chocolate brownie, first chocolate i've had in ages... not sure my tummy thinks it was a good move but good god my taste buds do!

dinkystinky · 16/07/2008 13:01

Been there Rosieposey, done that - call up daily both GP and hospital to ensure that they have sent and received the letter (insist they fax it!) and keep following up on it. Bloody NHS inefficiency!

PinkTulips - you have my sympathy. Have absolute stinker of a cold and bad back (due to carrying heavy bag on one shoulder at a gig on Monday) so feeling v weak and feeble and sorry for myself too at the moment.

herbgarden · 16/07/2008 13:11

Tink it does sound a bit like panic/anxiety - I have suffered with those and I've found in the last few days I've been quite stressed ( 2year old, not sleeping, feeling rough trying to sell our house ) and I've had a couple of moments when I've felt just "odd" - I also feel quite tearful so know that I need to try to look after myself a bit. Have a girls day out on Saturday so am hoping that'll be my chance for a bit of relaxation. I just can't sleep at the moment - I wake at about 2am and then tend to read for an hour and then eventually get another 2 hours sleep....It's flipping awful !!

TinkerBellesMum · 16/07/2008 13:58

ACT = Anti-Coagulation Therapy, my Heparin and Aspirin. I've been a bit bad at taking them in the last week.

It's Tink's birthday tomorrow and we're going to TBD's parents house tonight, they're going to babysit so we can do some last minute shopping, so will be nice having a few hours to ourselves. Going out for a meal tomorrow with a few people for her birthday.

IHaveASecretLittleSmile · 16/07/2008 14:33

Happy birthday for tomorrow Tink, and TBM I run a Guide group and it?s true, parents don't want to be involved. I guess people see it as very cheap babysitting. Providing a place for children to get off the streets is important, and it?s all good and well if the people running it are paid, but as a volunteer leader, this lack of parental support means I take more and more time away from my family and other commitments to look after other people?s children. A bit more help would ease things for me, and although I really enjoy doing it, I think the girls would also benefit from this, and not just being dropped off. Getting involved in your child?s activities is a way of sharing and being interested in what they do, and helping out on parent?s rota at Girl?s Brigade, Scouts or Guides once a year is hardly taking too much time out of a person?s life. Eek ? rant over. Sorry!

And sorry to hear about your loss Newb.

MarkStretch · 16/07/2008 14:36

I was beginning to think my tiredness was easing. Not today. I have just conked out for an hour on the sofa and could sleep for another 2 or 3 easily. I was asleep by 10 last night as well.

snoooooore, snoooore.....

TinkerBellesMum · 16/07/2008 14:42

We had quite a large staff and members of the Brigader section and church would help too, so probably a bit different. I can understand why people want a break from their kids and if there is a service available like that I can understand why parents would be happy to take it up, I do see though if you have low staff numbers it would be helpful if parents would take their turn.

I don't think it's realistic to expect (as some of the old RA want) all the parents to be involved all the time. They might as well keep them at home.

McDreamy · 16/07/2008 14:43

Bleurgh!!!! How are you ladies coping with this all day nausea! I am turning into a old grouch

MarkStretch · 16/07/2008 16:24

At the risk of being lynched.....I haven't been sick at all! Have felt nauseous quite a lot but no vomiting.

However, I am suddenly remarkably clumsy. Today I have smashed another glass, a glass pyrex jug (I loved that jug), dropped my clients files on the floor, walked into the table and emptied the contents of my bag on the ground whilst getting out of the car.

What is wrong with me?

onwardandupward · 16/07/2008 17:28

We have a little heartbeat!!!! I saw my wonderful midwife this morning (I'm so freaked by my previous experience that I'm paying for independent this time) and we could hear the little heart going boom ba dee boom on the doppler.

So it ISN'T just that I've been eating too many pies, there really is a tiny baby in there
