Here you go!

Will be back with a spanking new list of names and stats shortly.

Franch - I'm also feeling a lot better today. Just generally feel more perky and with it. Fingers crossed that this is the end of it!
I'm so jealous of all of you who've had scans/booking in appointments. Feel like stamping my foot and saying "it's not fair". I've been told booking in appointment won't be till after the nuchal scan, which is on the 21st. And acutally, I rather like being seen loads, if only to build a rapport with the midwifes and to keep an eye on progress.
Bump definitely seems to be emerging from my pelvis. Shame about the baby fat/saggy tummy from dd! Also hips are getting more hefty, which happened last time
Time for some toast. Seems toast and baked potatoes with cheese are my staple diet at the moment - cn't face meat or fish.

Jeepers · 01/02/2005 22:56

Andif, shall be thinking of you tomorrow. Hope all goes well.

Have finally got a nuchal scan date for the 23/2 (only three weeks tomorrow!!). The last 4 days have seen a resumption in the m/s. Big time. Waves of m/s from morning to night. Currently unable to even watch people eating on the television! WEnt to a wedding last weekend and finally realise how socially unacceptable it is NOT to drink heavily. I trotted out the usual excuses but noone seemed convinced!

Why isn't there an emoticon for a nauseous face?

DecafArabica · 02/02/2005 00:19

Yes, hope all goes well tomorrow, andif.

I want a nuchal scan date! Everyone else seems to have one. STILL suffering from bronchitis and intermittent nausea, but managing to put away prodigious amounts of bread, I must have had about 8 slices today and can't get enough. Can't seem to enjoy any drinks though. All my herb teas taste so boring. What's everyone else drinking?

PicadillyCircus · 02/02/2005 08:39

I am drinking either

Plain fizzy water
Fizzy water with Ribena in it or
Lemonade

I need to drink fizzy things at the moment - but have gone completely off coke (my usual favourite )

In fact I seem to have gone off everything at the moment - nothing tastes nice. Last time I remember being like this. Can't wait for it, the nausea and sickness to go away

pooka · 02/02/2005 08:48

Andif - good luck for tomorrow. Hope all is well.

I'm suddenly feeling a lot better, and this worries me too (can't win, can I). It doesn't help that I've also been vaguely following the August thread as due so near and there's been a lot of bad news in the last week.

Drinking mostly decaf tea and still water. Nothing else really.

PicadillyCircus · 02/02/2005 08:50

Andif, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as well.

Beatie · 02/02/2005 09:13

All I can drink is sparkling water and all I can eat is weetabix with the minimum amount of milk, dry crackers and super noodles. Yep, super noodles. I don't care about the MSG - they taste good to me and they did when I was pregnant with dd too.

Is there anyone who is not having a Nuchal Translucency scan? Is my health authority the only one that doesn't do these?

maretta · 02/02/2005 09:20

Beattie - I don't get a nuchal scan? TBH I'd never heard of them until reading about them on MN a couple of weeks ago. I get a scan at 12ish weeks but that's just a dating scan.

I can have a triple d (is it called) test at 16 weeks. Is that instead of the nuchal scan?

maretta · 02/02/2005 09:24

BTW - I have set up this so that I can see who people are at the same time as writing. My poor little preghead can't retain information long enough for me to scroll down a page.

PicadillyCircus · 02/02/2005 09:29

I don't get a nuchal scan (unless I pay for it) - my health authority has only recently started to do 12 week dating scans (didn't get one with DS less than 2 years ago).

PicadillyCircus · 02/02/2005 09:31

Zubb, when is your DS2's birthday? Just been looking at the stats thread and realised your DS2 will be 22 months when your DS3/DD is born, as will my DS.

My DS was born on 22nd November 2003

zubb · 02/02/2005 09:44

PC - Ds2 was born 15th November 2003 - doesn't seem very long ago does it!

I'm not having a nuchal scan here but I don't know if they do them for people who want them, I've never asked really, just always say no to any tests at the beginning.

PicadillyCircus · 02/02/2005 09:48

Our DS's are exactly a week apart - maybe the next versions will be as well . DS came 10 days early and I feel like this one will be a bit early as well (probably will be in October now....)

Beatie · 02/02/2005 09:53

My dd was born on 22 November 2002. And funnily enough she was 10 days early - her due date was 2nd December. Well, I thought it was interesting

Yes, the triple test is done instead of the Nuchal scan.

malvern · 02/02/2005 10:23

Hi everyone

Just a quick question - did any of you phone the hospital to check/chase for your booking in appt/scan date?

I know it's early days but I have to lug a lot of equipment round and set up heavy exhibition stands in my job and I'm keen to let them know asap but not until I've had a first check up.

Thanks

zubb · 02/02/2005 10:28

malvern- its a different system here, but I would phone them if I were you to see if they have a date.

Ds2 was 8 days late, so I was very fed up! Ds1 was 2 days early - so there is no pattern to it I'm afraid!

PicadillyCircus · 02/02/2005 10:47

Beatie - my pregnant brain is kicking in as DS must have been 11 days early (due date was 3rd December ).

I like knowing that our children share a birthday.

DecafArabica · 02/02/2005 11:08

I think everyone over 37 gets a nuchal scan at my hospital (Homerton, London E9), and everyone gets a 12 wk dating scan too.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one on decaf tea and fizzy water. I'm having to force myself to drink as everything just tastes so boring (not that I can taste much anyway because my poor nose is completely blocked).

maretta · 02/02/2005 11:19

I've got the cold too. Pregnant women shouldn't be allowed colds, it just seems cruel.

I've been drinking loads of sparkling mineral water, the occasional cup of tea - with the caffiene and Innocent pineapple and coconut smoothie. I don't mind until about 8ish - when a glass of wine would be so nice once in a while. I'm going sober to a hen night on Saturday. It's always odd going out with drunk people. At the start of the night everythings normal and then gradually you start to think - this conversation is getting so dull and repetitive and why's everyone shouting.

zubb · 02/02/2005 11:29

does every one give up alcohol completely then? you are all so good!

maretta · 02/02/2005 11:35

I don't know yet but I've decided not for the first 12 weeks at least.

PicadillyCircus · 02/02/2005 11:38

I'm not drinking alcohol at the moment but that's because the thought of it is horrible [nausea icon needed].

I was like that with DS - by the second trimester I managed to have some and then went off it again.

Jaxpax · 02/02/2005 11:47

Hi all,

Just been catching up. My brain is so mushy I have to make notes as I go along .

Here goes-
Piccalilli - Brilliant news, what a relief to see bean and hear the heart beat. Your due date is one day before mine so I was wondering how you got your scan so quickly, did you book in privately??

Nuchal scan, I just rang my local midwife and to my relief they have a file on me. Good news is my "early date" scan is booked for 6/3 (ages away) and the bad news is they have moved the age for (NHS) nuchal scans from 37y to 42y. I am 41 so just miss out. I would like to know what the general consensus is on this - do you think I should pay for one considering I am an old duffer?

Drinks - I have gone off my favorite tipple - tea, both caf and decaf, even the thought of camomile makes me heave. I have also started drinking fizzy water (previously my pet hate)! That was becoming boring very quickly so after racking my mushy brain I mixed some ribena cordial with the fizzy stuff and it tasted great. I do miss a nice hot drink, any suggestions.

maretta · 02/02/2005 11:48

I like just a slice of lemon in a mug of hot water. That's nice.

maretta · 02/02/2005 11:52

OMG, the postie has just arrived with my scan date. It's the 10th March. That's such a long time away, I'll be 13 weeks by then.

I was hoping it would be earlier. My friends at the same hospital and she had hers yesterday and she's only 10 weeks.
