hiya guys, I know most of u from the TTC thread, and thought i'd but in to give Rudy a joke i've just been sent (and thought it might cheer her up!) it's called do u know dave?

Dave was bragging to his boss one day, "You know, i know everyone thereis to know.Just name someone, anyone, and i know them" Tired of his boasting, his boss called his bluff, "OK, Dave, how about Tom Cruise?""No drama's boss, Tom and i are old friends, and i can prove it." So Dave and his boss fly out to Hollywood and knock on Tom Cruise's door, and Tom Cruise shouts, "Dave! What's happening? Great to see you! Come on in for a beer!" Although impressed, Dave's boss is still sceptical.

After they leave Cruise's house, he tells Dave that he thinks him knowing Cruise was just lucky. "No, no, just name anyone else," Dave says. "President Bush," his boss quickly retorts. "Yup," Dave says, "Old buddies; let's fly out to Washington D.C." .... And off they go. At the White House, President Bush spots Dave on the tour and motions him and his boss over, saying, "Dave, what a suprise, i was just on my way to a meeting, but you and your friend come on in and let's have a cup of coffee first and catch up." well the boss is very shaken by now but still not totally convinced.

After they leave the White House grounds he expresses his doubts to Dave, who again implores him to name anyone else. "The Pope," his boss replies. "Sure!" says Dave. "My folks are from Poland, and i've known the Pope a long time."...So off they fly to Rome. Dave and his boss are assembled with the masses in Vatican Square when Dave says, "This will never work, i can't catch the Pope's eye among all these people. Tell you what, i know all the guards, so let me just go upstairs and i'll come out on the balcony with the Pope." And he disappears into the crowd, headed toward the Vatican.

Sure enough, half an hour later Dave emerges with the Pope on the balcony and waves in his bosses direction. But by the time Dave returns, he finds that his boss has had a heart attack and is surrounded by paramedics. Working his way to his boss' side, Dave asks him, "What happened!" His boss looks up and says, "i was doing fine until you and the Pope came out on the balcony, and the man next to me said,

" Who the f**'s that on the balcony with Dave?"

MP! There are a few people already on mumsnet who are expecting in November, I think they're being very cautious though, as it's such early days.

Bah my pc froze!

cori · 01/03/2005 20:57

Wow, There is 23 of us due in October. No wonder I cant keep up with this thread.
My DS will be 3.8 when this one is born.

DS seems to know I am pregnant. The other day as I was tucking his shirt ,He laughed 'I have a big belly' I said 'I have a big belly too, do you know why mummy has a big belly' He said 'baby in there' . He must have overheard us talking. Children are so clever.

Elf1981 · 01/03/2005 22:12

Cori, kids can be freaky with the things they know! This only makes me laugh now that I have tracked back with dates...

Went shopping the other week with my DH, friend and her two children who are my godchildren, aged 6 and 22months. Pushing the little un around in the trolly, and I am grinning like a loon at her, and she points to my stomach and says "What's what?" (in her own fashion!). All of sundry seems to be looking at me by this point, so I am laughing and telling her to shhh. So she then reached over, stroked my belly, all the while going "ahhhhh, baby!".

Works out that we would have conceived a few days before that shopping trip!

Fastasleep · 02/03/2005 09:11

Waaaaaah I hit the 7 week milestone and now feel like complete poo! I have no idea how I'm going to manage looking after the rampaging little Theo today [very very pukey face] I now know exactly how you lot felt you poor things lol

CPT · 02/03/2005 09:32

Hello ladies I'm a newbie! After TTC for 2 yrs I am now pregnant and due on Oct 21. I am excited but scared happy but anxious and generally just can't wait! I took 2 cycles of oral clomid and bingo! I have a scan on 11th - how nervous will I be then ?!!
DH and I have only told my best friend and my sis & bro in law/
I look forward to chatting with everyone lots. After being on lots of TTC chats I never thought I would get here...and I have. I know its early days but its a huge step.

Congrats to you all
Love CPT
