Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LuLuBai · 19/06/2008 11:04

I think it depends on the individual child. I know families where the boys have been really hard work and others where the girls have been difficult. One mum I know said if she had had her son first she probably would never have had another child as he is such a daily up-hill struggle while her daughters are a doddle, another mother who has 4 boys and wants more.

My DD is not a girly-girl at all. Shaping up to be quite a tomboy already. Ordinarily (ie when not pregnant and being ruled by hormones) I don't have any preferences either way but ever since the two little lines appeared on the stick I have felt an overwhelming desire for another girl. Maybe it is because it is another girl and my body is preparing me for that!

littleboyblue · 19/06/2008 11:07

Hey LuluBai.
Last time I knew I was having a boy. It's strange isn't it? Even when they said at the scan it was like, yeah tell me something knew! Haha.
This time I'd like another boy purely for the financial reasons, ds is only 10mo but am already thinking I'm having a girl

Gosh biscuity, didn't you just throw alarm out the window?

pgwithnumber3 · 19/06/2008 11:19

Hi ladies - do you mind if I join you all!?

Pg with DC3, bit of a shock, DD2 is only 9 months! DD1 is 6 in October. Will have my hands full.

I think I am due beginning of Feb, I have only had 1 period since stopping BF in April so think I am around 6 week mark.

I am knackered, DD2 is in bed, just hoovered the whole house and it has killed me. Oh the next 8 months are going to be fun!

PinkTulips · 19/06/2008 11:24

there is also the fact that no matter what the equality types would have us believe boys and girls are very differant creatures and it's great fun to experiance both.

if you have a strong hunch there's a very good chance your right, something like 80% of women have a gut feeling about the sex that's completely right.

i haven't got an inkling yet, doesn't usually solidify for me til a bit later on.... my dad will know though.... as soon as someone tells him they're pregnant he instantly turns around and says whether it's a boy or a girl, and he's always right

Clarabumps · 19/06/2008 11:24

well done pgwithnumber3..you're a better woman than me. i havent hoovered in forever..morning ladies!just been the shopping and feel like my arms are ten feet long. Tinksmum- i liked the idea of a map..
and as for the parents situation. My mum was the best granny in the world untill ds was actually born- dont get me wrong, she goes on and on and on about how lovely he is..does she babysit him though?err...nope! no tell a lie..she did when i was on a training course and then when i came back she slated my domestic skills. Not that i am professiong to be some domestic goddess but jesus..i would just like for her to say once.."you're doing ok you know.."too much to ask??
Rant Over

i'm having a chinese girl apparently

Clarabumps · 19/06/2008 11:25

i meant a girl according to the chines thing.

PinkTulips · 19/06/2008 11:27

congratulations and welcome pgwithno3! (are you a regular who's namechanged?)

LuLuBai · 19/06/2008 11:28

Clarabumps · 19/06/2008 11:31

yass...apparently theres a thing called a robomop, that sweeps for you.i stumbled upon a thread inwhich loads of mumsnetters were talking about it and i thought they were going to wet themselves with excitement. Maybe they did..who knows

McDreamy · 19/06/2008 11:35

littleboyblue · 19/06/2008 11:53

I just had a call from ultra sound, they have booked me in for a scan on 1st July, which will make me 7-8 weeks. I was scanned on monday.
Will I still have the 12 wk scan and that means my baby will be scanned 4 times?
I've read it's not good to get them scanned too much

need to dash..wee one has ear infection. need ot go pick him up from nursery.damn it.. he just keeps getting infection after infection in that place.

Jelliebaby · 19/06/2008 12:10

Thanks for all your advice re scans. Im rebooked for Monday so should hopefully see HB by then.

Littleboyblue - I was told that the scan i'm having on Mon will be my dating scan so wont have another one at 12 weeks. Will have to wait till 21 wks which seems along time away.

PinkTulips · 19/06/2008 12:14

tis the 3d and 4d ones that can cause issues due to overheating as they're higher intensity and the scan goes on alot longer.

normal hospital ones are perfectly safe

littleboyblue · 19/06/2008 12:15

Ok, thank you all. Just wanted to double check.
