markstretch - thats crap

I've just been very sick - all my lovely chilli

littleboyblue · 03/07/2008 22:06

Maybe she's on holiday-Davidsmom

chilledmama · 03/07/2008 22:08

Felt fine today...DH away from 0630 so had to do the whole mornin, work, dinner and bath time thing on my own. Sitting here now and not that tired really...hmm not sure symptoms are progressing as I would expect...might book in for scan on QT to reassure myself...DH will think I'm mad but getting to 12 weeks to find out that you mc'd weeks ago...NO NO NO!

littleboyblue · 03/07/2008 22:14

I'm having a naughty glass of wine!
Don't know why I feel the need to share that!

chilledmama · 03/07/2008 22:23

Naughty lbb - lets face it...its not going to hurt is it. Placenta not established, no way to pass over alcohol...[ducks for cover at possible backlash from angry crowds]

TennantbellesMum · 03/07/2008 23:36

Nothing wrong with the odd glass, as long as you're not binge drinking.

I went to Amsterdam when pregnant with Lily-Hope. I asked for a pint while I looked at the menu. Tried to order food (meat sandwich) and they wouldn't let me eat anything with meat (shame Europe don't believe in vegetarianism) because it was all rare. Pint = OK, Meat = not.

During same pregnancy I spent a lot of time with an Italian friend he kept giving me Chianti because "it's good for the baby" and telling me I wasn't drinking enough and I should because it's good for me. When his daughters were little he said they would half fill a Chianti bottle with water and put a teat on the top! I'm not advocating that sort of drinking, just pointing out that not everywhere think alcohol is bad and I don't think they're turning out that badly.

littleboyblue · 04/07/2008 07:26

Morning. 1 glass teurned into 1 and a half. But yes, it won't do any harm. I had the odd drink with ds.

MarkStretch · 04/07/2008 08:06

Hello! It is dd's birthday today and we have had pancakes for breakfast.

Was up til midnight last night and dd got up at 6.20am so I am knackered already.

Got a full day at work and then out for pizza and cinema tonight - I think I might need a nap!

littleboyblue · 04/07/2008 08:09

Happy birthday to dd. Have a good day

oooggs · 04/07/2008 08:13

markstretch - happy birthday to your dd

davidsmom hasn't posted since 17/06/08

fruitstick · 04/07/2008 09:20

My child is watching far too much cbeebies. It's the only way I can bear to start the day (i.e. not move my head to quickly)!

Do I lose house points?

Also, what's with this dizziness? Is it normal? Should I get my bp checked?

Knax · 04/07/2008 09:35

know what you mean rosia posey and mark stretch. My sore boobs are now not sore and i've not got sickness and am worried about mmc. i'm thinking pink's theory sounds good, re boobs don't need to prepare so much as been pg before, so don't feel sore after the first couple of weeks. I've heard others on MN saying that before too. I think not everyone has many symptoms so we should all try to think positive (easier said than done) as mmc is still relatively rare. Although of course quite a few people here seem to have had it in the past unfortunately
re no symptoms, (apart from not fitting my clothes, which i think is due to eating lots more!) remember there are quite a few people who have a baby who didn't know they were pg, or who don't realise they're pg til 20 weeks etc.
knax xx

littleboyblue · 04/07/2008 10:20

Fruitstick, my ds (11m) watches cbeebies for about an hour and a half every morning whilst i shower and dress. Don't sweat it!

You're absolutely right Knax. It is hard to stay possitive but mmc is rare.
I was told a few years ago, that it is harder for the heart to stop beating than to not start at all IYSWIM.

dinkystinky · 04/07/2008 10:26

Is it just me or has anyone else's boobs grown erm wonky since geting pregnant? Am sure lefty is bigger than righty now...

ho hum

LittleSarah · 04/07/2008 10:37

fruitstick and co - my dd is watching her Cinderella DVD again...

My boobs are definitely bigger but not wonky as such, although I always thought left was teensy bit bigger than right!

Pinktulips - I'm glad someone's scan is later than mine! I was scanned at 14 weeks last time too but last time I didn't know I was pregnant until about 10/11 weeks so it hardly seemed a long time!

Tentatively feeling a little better I must admit. Still tired but not as tired and still getting MS but not nearly as much... which is a relief as starting a new PT job on Monday!

rosieposey · 04/07/2008 10:57

Morning all - Knax you have a point about it being rare in terms of miscarriage im just soooo paranoid something will go wrong some days and some days its positive all the way... littleboyblue thats quite a cheery thought as well about the heart being harder to stop than start and does make alot of sense. Incedently i keep seeing IYSWIM - what does that means ( i manage to work most of the shortened stuff out but not all of it ) As for wonky boobs - i dont think they are wonky but im sure they have just got ridiculous in the last 4 weeks, they were never tiny but things are starting to get tight - think i might invest in some sleep bras from Mothercare as they are quite uncomfortable to sleep on too. Was out last night as went to see a live band with DP and yawned all the way through it - thank god they had some Appletise there though - i am totally addicted to that stuff ( hope its not bad for me as i would hate to give it up!)

WarmFuzzy · 04/07/2008 11:19

Good morning all. IYSWIM - If You See What I Mean .

TennantbellesMum · 04/07/2008 11:29

Fruit, is it vertigo? I tend to have at least one day stuck in bed with vertigo each pregnancy. Vertigo isn't the fear of heights, as is commonly thought.

I prefer Milkshake because I hate having children's TV on all day and it ends just as I need to think about leaving for the Childminder's!

PinkTulips · 04/07/2008 11:34

rosie, IYSWIM = If You See What I Mean. there's an acronym list you can check, go to the top of the screen and it's second in after 'useful stuff'. it has all our weird little codes

my boobs have been lopsided since dd, righty gets HHHUUUUUGGGEEEEE compared to lefty

having a slightly better day today, ds seems better, dd got over her upset tummy (playschool swaer blind she had nothing she shouldn't have but she was in agony yesterday so slightly about that), paid the rent so have no bills looming for a change and don't feel too ill today, a little quesy but bearable so far.

am absolutely shattered though, i can barely manage the 1/2 mile walk to bring dd to summer camp and back each day, then i have to go do it again to collect her. literally thought i was going to pass out yesterday ended up dozing in a chair while the kids had a raisn fight til dp came home..... but at least i kept the tv off for once

hope everyones feeling ok today

dinkystinky · 04/07/2008 12:24

Phew, am glad its not just me then

Know what you mean about exhaustion "PinkTulips" - am about ready to hit the sack when I put my toddler to bed... cant wait for the second trimester energy boost!

I guess I'm at around 8 weeks and feeling rubbish. I had no major probs with my first son but now am feeling sick all the time. Really struggling with commuting and cannot face cooking. Hope that this will go away soon and I can start enjoying being pregnant...

herbgarden · 04/07/2008 12:33

Hi all.....
Boobs - not wonky as far as I can see but are getting v.v big.

Nausea not great although a bit better today and managed to walk with ds in buggy (him not me altho' I'd loved to have got a lift..)to town.....Midwife not v.impressed with my lack of enthusiasm for exercise at the moment - do I really feel like it- do I hell.

To those of you talking about dc's and telly - I was just saying to my mum yesterday about my ds's tv watching and feeling guilty - but at the moment sometimes it's the only way. If I decide though to have a sit down on the sofa and watch something I've recorded he does tend to go and play with his toys - clearly my choices not up to scratch - but still think it'll get worse as the winter comes and I (hopefully) get bigger and have less energy. I try to go out morning or afternoon with him to do something and make him potter round the house with me and do also turn it off sometimes- but right now it's a blessing in disguise and I think I have to just get on with it. I've just discovered milkshake and Noddy - ds loves it ....

Anyone been watching "Criminal Justice" ?? I'm loving it but finding it all a bit disturbting too - last one tonight - did he or didn't he?? Thought the Mum and kitten thing was quite good...

PinkTulips · 04/07/2008 12:34

welcome america how old is your son?

btw......enjoy being pregnant?

can you tell my pregnancies sucked?

PinkTulips · 04/07/2008 12:39

herbgarden, what a mean MW.

my gp heartily endorses sleeping on the couch while dc's watch tv and is also an advocate of 'rest as much as possible' i might have to punch someone who suggests excercise to me right now!

fruitstick · 04/07/2008 12:48

Herb garden, get thee over to the telly addicts Criminal Justice thread at once.

Little boy blue is already there with a glass of wine

Am looking forward to the finale and a glass of red this evening more than I thought possible.
