I actually went and had acupunture this afternoon too, it cost me £40 but i just had a few needles - nothing as exciting as you had, sounds quite lovely.

I still feel sick though, may need to give myself a bit of time. Is it advisable to keep going then or is it just a one off thing?

oooggs · 02/07/2008 19:33

keep going so I have been told, by friends it has worked for (not just the clinic) I didn't use it the last times but with the twins being so young and needed so much attention I am desperate

francesrivis · 02/07/2008 19:36

Hello all, just checking in. Not a lot to report here - feeling sick and exhausted but don't mind as so happy that all is OK! Still dreading telling work so am going to put it off for a few more weeks.

Singingintherain · 02/07/2008 20:37

Spent all afternoon watching cookery programmes to find something nice for tea. They were all cooking fish, so I sent DH to buy some.

I was really pleased cooked it in milk with mushrooms and pepper then coated it in cheese with mashed potatoes and some green frozen stuff (not in English but a vegetable of some kind)

OMG I wish I hadn't. That's it off fish [rushtothelooemotion]

I am very hungry but can not face anything. Think I will go to bed with an icecream again.

MarkStretch · 02/07/2008 20:58

Evening all

Had a lazy day working from home today. Was nice not to have to rush about. Wrapping dd's birthday presents tonight as not feeling as tired as last night.

My cousin who is due week after me had some spotting and had a scan this morning and got to see the heartbeat. I'm jealous! It seems everyone has seen their babies early except meeeeeeee!

I am terrified of getting to my scan and there being nothing there.

fruitstick · 02/07/2008 21:06

Can I just ask why so many people have had early scans? I've never known anyone have one before and I'm a bit jealous!

Are they for previous problems/ early problems this time.

chilledmama · 02/07/2008 21:09

Boobs have decided to groww at alarming rate!!!

VVV tired...

but hey I'm still up the duff so its all worth it (6 down and 34 to go)

Tinks - it never ceases to amaze me how Doctors think they are helping you because they are being truthful...when actually they are being blunt, insensitive and really very rude. I don't think they can ever appreciate what Lily-Hope means to you.

chilledmama · 02/07/2008 21:15

Fruitstick - had scan at 7 weeks with DS because of bleeding. They didn't find cause of bleeding so pretended it didn't happen, unlikely to get an early scan this time unless I bleed again...don't wish for it. If you really want an early scan you can pay for one privately...not usually that expensive but would probably be an internal scan [yuk emoticon]

Knax · 02/07/2008 21:18

i know what you mean MarkStretch. I've got my scan on 17th June (2 weeks and 1 day.. and counting) and am worried nothing will be there.

MarkStretch · 02/07/2008 21:22

I investigated an early one and it was £200!

Haven't even got my scan date through yet Knax. Am shitting it. DH thinks I'm crazy, he seems to think if you're pregnant, you're pregnant.

I keep glaring at him sideways and mumbling 'it does happen...'

MarkStretch · 02/07/2008 21:24

Mind you he also says I am the most impatient person he has ever met. But being pregnant takes so looooooooong!

Knax · 02/07/2008 21:28

I know! I spoke to a woman i know who is 4 and a half months pg (she doesn't know i am) and she said she is just waiting for her 20 week scan now! I was thinking how lucky she is to have had the first one. It's like a waiting game....

chilledmama · 02/07/2008 21:29

Saw hb at 7 weeks and was still pertrified. It was amazing seeing the scan at 12 weeks, such relief that I had loads of tears...DH thought I'd gone mad . Just as scared this time...turning up and the person saying, " Who told you you were pregnant?"

Knax · 02/07/2008 21:31

So you don't fit with your name then chilledmama!! Great that you've had 2 scans. When is your EDD?

Knax · 02/07/2008 21:32

Also when is your EDD mark stretch? I managed to get my nhs scan at 11 weeks this time for some reason, but doesn't usually get booked til 12 i think.

Knax · 02/07/2008 21:35

oo sorry reading back chilledmama you haven't had the scan yet, but you meant the 2 scans from last pg, yes?
That's my short attention span!!

chilledmama · 02/07/2008 21:43

£200 blimey...first view imaging are quoting £50. I had my nuchal and 20 week scan done there and thet were brilliant...seriously considering making an appointment next week to see if they can find an hb.

chilledmama · 02/07/2008 21:47

yes, lots of scans and blood tests and additional tests and a few more for good measure...making me the chilledmama I am today

littleboyblue · 02/07/2008 22:59

Evening all. No sickness today either. Maybe i was feeling so rough because i was trying to convince(sp) myself all was well and now we've seen the heartbeat I've relaxed a bit?

Went trough ds's old clothes today. We are moving house next week so made a start packing. I've got 3 binliners full and ds is only 11 months. We bought him far too much stuff. Hope this one's a girl too, but prob not

MarkStretch · 03/07/2008 06:41

Knax I think my EDD is 6/2/09, yes we thought £200 was a bit much, especially as there was a chance that they might not see anything if it was too early.

We are in rural ol' norfolk after all so our choices were limited. We could have gone to Peterborough but it would have cost us to travel so instead i have to sit on my hands and be patient, grrrrrrr.

Have loads of organising to do today as DD's birthday tomorrow. I am just hoping I can stay awake tonight to make her cake!

littleboyblue · 03/07/2008 07:51

What's this? Is everyone paying for early scans?

Jelliebaby · 03/07/2008 08:00

I am having my scan when i will be just over 8 weeks but thats only because of my severe MS and i think they want to check for twins. Otherwise i wouldn't have one till 12 weeks, its such a long time to wait and in my first pregnancy i got there to find i had had a MMC, the baby had stopped growing at 7 wks so i had been walking around for 5 wks thinking i was pregnant, its so unfair in that respect.

I think if i wasn't having a scan next week i would deffo go for a private one, for piece of mind......well only if it was under £100 which im not sure if they are!!!

Jelliebaby · 03/07/2008 08:01

By the way? Where is Davidsmom???? she started this thread and not posted for a while. Hope all is ok Davidsmom

littleboyblue · 03/07/2008 08:14

Hi Jellie, I had the same thing with my first pregnancy, got to the 12 wk scan and nothing there. It was horrible coz the sonographer asked me who confirmed my pregnancy and if they'd discussed the possibility of a phantom pregnancy. She then got her boss who told her to do an internal, after a while she found it and said it had stopped growing at 8 weeks and was so deformed I would be grateful it had stopped (!!!!!!!!). I had a D&C 3 days later.
My 2nd pregnancy, I had a heavy bleed at 6 weeks and hospital confirmed a m/c.
My 3rd pregnancy I was so scared, my gp agreed to an early scan to help my mental wellbeing.
My 4th pregnancy I was a bit more relaxed as had had ds, but bled badly at 6 weeks, was on holiday so didn't bother going to the hosp.
Now my 5th preg, I'm 8 weeks and have been scanned twice, my next is the 12 week at the end of the month, so I fully understand the peace of mind needed, but has everyone spoken to their gp about why they want an early scan?

Knax · 03/07/2008 08:35

Oh Jellie and little boy blue, you poor things re the mmc! that's my main fear and I'm even more nervous waiting for the scan now you've said your sad stories! Let's keep everything crossed for all of us!
I was wondering where Davidsmom is too... Hope fully just v busy. Drop us a line DM
