I've put on quite a bit of weight just being less mobile with my bad back, I even sorted out my eating a lot (didn't have much choice as caffeine gives me heartburn now). I saw a physio awhile ago and she said that the muscles in my back are so overstretched there aren't any muscles supporting my spine. So I'm carrying my upper body which puts a lot of pressure on my spine. I can't carry anything heavy (like a car seat with a small baby in) can't push anything (pushchairs, shopping trolleys) can't walk far. It tends to lead to me getting SPD very quickly.

I looked into multi-vits last time but I'm on Aspirin so not allowed them.

I have a lovely new drink.

It's Robinsons High Juice Raspberry and Cranberry made with sparkling water and loads of ice.

It almost feels like I am drinking booze.

Perfect for a lovely hot day.

Hello all

suburbandryad - I am so going to get myself to Boots tomorrow for seabands. I'm now feeling I've been sick for so long I can't remember what being normal feels like! Might try some hummous but really don't fancy it at the moment, in fact just thinking about the smell is making me a little queasy!

Df came back last night after a few drinks, one of which was some Hungarian spirit (unicum??!), and I must admit I struggled with my nausea when he kissed me! Thank god he gave up smoking a few months ago, smoke always makes me sick when pregnant.. although could it get any worse??

Still no news on my scan, boo hoo, might phone again and nag!

Back fresh from my pointlessly super long booking in appointment (I just sat there whilst she filled in forms from the information on the screen!) & still not much the wiser, not sure the midwife took my desire to see a consultant early on very seriously. She did say that the hospital would have to ring & get a summary of my notes from last time so I think what I'm going to do is ring the EPU & ask their advice if I haven't heard anything by the time I am 8 weeks.

Well, spoke to the midwife and my scan is on the 5th August... ie ages! Lol. I'll be 14 weeks then eh? (Due 02/02/09)

Hi everyone. Thank you for all your thoughts today. The scan went well, I'm 8 weeks along and we saw the heartbeat and got a picture!
Funnily enough, I haven't had any sickness today odd.
Next scan at 12 weeks on 29th.
Will try the zinc thing anyway.

Just popping in to say hello to the newbies!

I've had a lovely child-free day out in Oxford today - met up with another MNer who is doing research for her book and wanted to chat to me! Not sure how much research she got between us eating delicious lunch and me cuddling her utterly divine baby, but it was a lovely day.

Think me and ds are going to have a bath now though as i'm all sweaty....bleh!
