Well, hi all, I totally balls-ed up dating this pg!!! I used all the online guides out there with my LMP and got EDD end Jan, which would make me ten weeks, but I wasn?t sure and I told midwife that at booking, so had dating scan on Thursday to be sure! It turns out that actually I am only about 7 weeks. They can?t be sure of dates because it was a internal scan in the end (shudder). But there?s only one in there and I saw a heartbeat!

So, anyway, I have altered list to put myself at ?due early-mid Feb? with firm date to come at proper dating scan in about 5 weeks time. Seems ages away now!

And Biscuitytrousers, your quote made me blub!! So true though ? I just love DS so much and wonder ?what if I don?t love this one as much? ?

And hi Rosieposey, I used to live near Swindon and had DS at the Great Western Hospital!

to all of you having your second dc and worrying about how you'll feel in comparison to your PFB.... please don't worry! it's incredible how your heart just expands to accomodate another, and how you not only love each of them but love how they are together.

myself and dp spent so long worrying about all that before ds was born and the second he emerged we couldn't imagine only having one anymore, our family suddenly felt more complete, more whole, and everyday i love them both a little more.

you do love the second very differant way than the first but its not more or less, just differant.

rosieposey · 27/06/2008 22:30

Hi ihaveasecretlittlesmile thanks for welcoming me ... I haven't been to Great Western Hospital yet - whats it like for ante natal care and delivery? Had my previous DD3 in Reading and DD1 and DD2 in Exeter - its been ages since i was last pregnant so looking forward to it all loads but still worried about the birth as had 3 inductions and labour was nightmare even if it was 11 years ago so quite keen to know what you think about the hospital here - its quite new i think, thats all i know about it really

PinkTulips · 28/06/2008 00:17

just wondering btw, did any of you who have had pregnancies before feel your babies move very early on?

i felt dd flutter at 12 weeks and definite kicks at 14 weeks and with ds i had flutters at 10 weeks and kicks dp could feel at 12 weeks. hoping i get to feel this one soon as i'm 8 weeks now.

TinkerbellesMum · 28/06/2008 00:41

I could feel Tink doing laps at about 16 weeks - I was lying on the bed watching TV with my hands under my waistband, I could feel each hand being bumped in turn! Mum could feel it too.

Been feeling bubbly sensations but I don't really think it's baby doing it at this stage.

KazzaL · 28/06/2008 08:06

Hi rosieposey - i had DS1 in GWH 14mths ago and it was really good, the only thing I wold suggest is take plenty of food with you and if you knwo you going to be in for more than a few hours after delivery pay for a private room - we didn't and really regretted it after spending 5 days on the ward.

The staff are all really nice and although I'm going to try again to be allowed to deliver at the midwife unit in Stroud, I expect I won't be allowed to and will end up in Swindon again, this time paying for a private room or go to stroud after (we live in Cirencester, so between the 2)

MarkStretch · 28/06/2008 08:17

Morning all.

Shelves in the sitting room are up, now we have the drama of the dining room!

Having a nice lie in while DH got up to see to DD and wash up from last night. Hoping for a nice sunny day today. Am taking DD to choose her new birthday bike and get her measured up for it.

Movements- if I didn't think I was imagining it I would swear I could feel something, there's definately a lot of stretching and growing going on. I still won't believe it until I see it?

And last night I dreamt I was breastfeeding a lizard instead of a baby. Freak.

Hi, can I rejoin? DOn't know if anyone remembers me - I took a break from this thread after some bleeding and an inconclusive scan. However I was rescanned on Friday and thankfully there was a tiny embryo and heartbeat so I am officially pg again, and very relieved! DP gets back from Africa tomorrow hopefully - he has no idea what's been going on so it will be good to tell him the story with a (cautiously) happy ending!

That really is lovely francesrivis. All fingers and toes crossed for all of us on this amazing rollercoaster ride.

MarkStretch · 28/06/2008 18:18

Congrats Francesrivis! And welcome back.

I feel horrible today, so sick and tired. Had an hours nap this afternoon and still feel sluggish and worn out. Ergh.

loopylula · 28/06/2008 18:29

Hi ladies, Welcome back Francesrivis ? that's great news for you.

I haven't posted for a couple of days due to extreme tiredness and general yuckyness. Am waiting on bloods to see if i am anaemic.

MarkStretch, i feel exactly like you today ? nothing is picking me up.

rosieposey · 28/06/2008 18:58

Hi Kazza - thanks for the heads up on Great Western - will remember to book room and take in some tasty supplies Dont know Cirencester but my DP goes there skateboarding all the time ... Will keep my fingers crossed for you that you end up at the maternity unit and not the hospital for this one, Im definately going to have to go under the hospital as with all my others as probably will get gestational diabetes as with the previous three pregnancys ... oh well safe hands and a happy outcome is what matters

laidbackinengland · 28/06/2008 19:00

Yeah - an hour to myself. DH has taken DS1 and DS2 to the beach for an evening surf and DS3 has just gone to bed. I am knackered !

Great to see you back posting Francis - I was thinking about you on Friday. Which part of devon are you in by the way? I am in the north and oogs is in the south.

WarmFuzzy · 28/06/2008 19:45

MarkStretch,

Friday night's dream
On Saturday told
Is sure to come true
Be it ever so old

Sorry, couldn't resist that!

MarkStretch · 28/06/2008 20:07

Ergh! I don't want to breastfeed a lizard!

oooggs · 28/06/2008 20:09

welcome back frances

fantastic news on those of you who have been scanned - magical

fruitstick · 28/06/2008 20:48

Would someone please remind me that I won't feel like this for much longer (week 6).

I remember feeling great in my second trimester last time but at the moment, nobody knows so I get no sympathy, I feel rotten (although no actual productive vomiting), I get dizzy spells if I move to quick, and I'm knackered.

oh, and my husband has given up smoking (again!) today so is like a bear with PMT and keeps complaining that I'm whining (which I am!)

I would like a bump to rest my hands on and an excuse to buy new things!

littleboyblue · 29/06/2008 08:05

I have been feeling quite ill the past 2 days. Only for about an hour a day so not too bad.
OMG, I was in Morrisons yesterday, and on the way out there was a man collecting money for childrens cancer charity or something, so I stopped, gave a pound and we had a friendly little chat (as you do), he then told me if I put another £1 in, I could have a small teddybear, so I put another £1 in and got a bear, he then went on chatting and said I could stand therewith him and hold a collection pot, that it would be nice to have a friendly, chatty girl to help, I just laughed and then he said, as your pregnant, I'll even get you a chair! WTF?
I haven't lost all the weight from ds, and I have put on a bit already, but it's not baby!

MarkStretch · 29/06/2008 10:33

God I am in a bad mood today.

herbgarden · 29/06/2008 13:10

littleboyblue - if it's any consolation I went on holiday a couple of weeks ago and would then have only been 5/6 weeks. I'm not that tall and fairly slim but with a bit of a pot flabby belly (never had a flat one and then having ds just made it worse). The check in woman asked dh if I was pregnant - I thought he'd told her so was a bit cross and then he said that she just asked him - charming - I could have walloped the glamorous, young, petite snippet of a check in woman I tell ya !

TinkerbellesMum · 29/06/2008 13:13

I like the fact I look like I'm showing LBB, because I can pass it off as being pregnant rather than just my last baby bump and I can get more sympathy as I'm already starting to struggle to get round. I think the crutches are going to be whipped out pretty quick this time and I'm already waiting an urgent physio appointment.

MarkStretch · 29/06/2008 13:17

I have uncontrollable weepiness today. I have been sobbing for no reason what so ever. Poor DH and DD have been glancing worriedly at me and creeping about. DD has put up a tent in the front room and is watching TV out of the door to avoid my mood!

DH has decided he is taking us all out as I obviously need to get out of the house and do something nice.

Bloody hormones.

WarmFuzzy · 29/06/2008 14:30

I think you must be by alter-ego, MS - crying here too at the smallest thing. Hey ho, at least I'm not incubating a reptile!
