PinkTulips · 25/06/2008 14:25

it works with fags too, if i'm cornered into popping out for a smoke i just wave around a lit cigarette and people assume i'm smoking it

LuLuBai · 25/06/2008 14:27

Ah - with fags everyone was just impressed that I had given up. People kept saying how well I was doing. Not one person suspected the real reason.

LuLuBai · 25/06/2008 14:29

Oh - ok they were onto me in the end. For one reason and another I didn't actually tell anyone until I was 16 weeks. By which point I actually had a little bump and everyone knew but they were too polite to let on.

LuLuBai · 25/06/2008 14:29

Wonder how soon the bump will appear this time. Quite looking forward to a little bump in a wierd way.

LuLuBai · 25/06/2008 14:31

(note to self: stop posting on this thread - it's beginning to look like a monologue)

PinkTulips · 25/06/2008 14:45

no one would believe i'd given them up out of my own free will

i have a bump already am quite depressed about that! was hoping not to pile on the weight this time round like i did with ds.

PinkTulips · 25/06/2008 14:46

shit, have been sitting here for 2.5 hours!

need to go do dinner

WarmFuzzy · 25/06/2008 14:53

PinkTulips, I've got a bump too and I'm only 5 weeks !

jamescagney · 25/06/2008 14:54

Hey pinkt! am in Ireland also. am clueless about due date (atm 19 Feb) sooh excited am 6 weeks probably but have definite tummy when sitting down (can I say that I am quite slim normally
soooh excited. wouldn't it be weird if you had twins? I've always had romantic notions about flaunting my fertility but reality comes a knockin along with all the bills!

WarmFuzzy · 25/06/2008 14:55

When I was pregnant with DS1 I got given a seat on a crowded tube at about 9 weeks.

WarmFuzzy · 25/06/2008 14:56

Twins also seem to always be disappearing off in opposite directions from the moment they can crawl - don't think I could handle two the same age!

dinkystinky · 25/06/2008 15:12

Hello - can I join in? Not entirely sure about dates (pregnancy brain already kicking in apparently) but think bubba is due around 20 Feb. Didnt suffer much at start with pregnancy 1 (have a cheeky little 2 year old now) and this one has been v similar though my boobs feel v swollen and tender much earlier this time round (probably not helped by toddler deciding to go all benny hill on me after his bath every day!)

Have copied and pasted list below including me

scaredmom · 25/06/2008 15:21

hi, im due 24/02/2009. Have emergency scan tomorrow as miscarried at christmas, so worried, have horrible feeling things won't turn out ok tomorrow, been have period pain feelings throughout.

littleboyblue · 25/06/2008 16:20

OMG. Although I'm not posting too often on this thread I'm trying to read everyone elses and keep up but ffs you lot! I checked in earlier and now there's so much more!
Anyone else suffering from wind I'm hoping it's a pregnancy thing! It seems to be out of control.

MissMitford · 25/06/2008 16:57

Hmmmm I am wondering if my scan is really really late or not?

I'm due Jan 31st, so that makes me 8 weeks I guess? Scan not till July 29th, over a month away... when I will be 12 weeks. Is that ok? I kind of thought it was between 8-10 weeks, but I could be wrong...

LuLuBai · 25/06/2008 17:04

Hello new people!

Hi MissMitford - that sounds completely normal. I had my first scan at exactly 12 weeks to the day last time. But these things do vary from area to area.

MissMitford · 25/06/2008 17:10

Oooh thanks - I'll be 13 weeks by then, but hey. I think I just wanna know if it's a boy or a girl... surely only a (mini) man could make me feel this bad...

IHaveASecretLittleSmile · 25/06/2008 17:25

I am about, and reading, but it takes so long to catch up that I don't really know what to say! This thread is certainly much busier than my last one with DS two years ago!!!

OP posts:
LittleSarah · 25/06/2008 17:37

Right, back from Amsterdam. WHEN is this nausea going to end? I can't stand it. Plus why this time? I know they say all pregnancies are different but why? Surely my body/immune system and so on is pretty much the same!? ARGH. Another month of this? Lol, loving the MS.

Also still knackered, got up with dd this morning, had breakfast, felt sick and tired, went back to bed! (Had to get up eventually for job interview!)

Rachrox - if you fancy a homebirth go for it. Mine was great and have requested one for this wee one.

I really want my scan too. I phoned last week and they hadn't even received my referral from GP/nurse, going to phone again tomorrow to see what's happening. Just gimme the date people!

Twins - feeling slightly freaked about this possiblity too as I feel so awful, fingers crossed tis just paranoia, don't know if I could handle it, financially and physically!

LittleSarah · 25/06/2008 17:40

Oh and re the drinking, at the mo I'm also going with the pretending to drink thang. So far no one has noticed!

littleboyblue · 25/06/2008 17:49

Miss Mitford, the first scan can be anytime between 10-13 weeks. It's perfectly normal to have 1st one at 12 weeks. From what I can gather (myself included) those having early scans (before 12 wks) is because of m/c history or difficulties in pregnancy

oooggs · 25/06/2008 19:31

have seen the midwife today - need to ring up and book a scan at around 12 weeks

still off work with m/s

twins are no problem - mine are just starting to run in different directions

Neeerly will confirm it is fine (hers are older) we are both doing it again

McDreamy · 25/06/2008 20:35

Nervousmouse if you want to be on antibiotics to account for the lack of alcohol metronidazole is the one to be on - you cannot have ANY alcohol while taking them.

Just been to the cinema to watch 27 Dresses with a bunch of friends. Quite nice sitting there in the dark with my little secret Sooooo tired now though!

Knax · 25/06/2008 20:52

Hi all,
Have been on this thread before but not since new title (am on the list!) Am 8 weeks now and getting paranoid as I don't really have any symptoms. Have a DS already, and was nauseous with him starting around now, although not v bad. What's making me worry is that I had sore bb's a few weeks ago but not now. Am trying to tell myself it's because they have already done the preparing last time so don't need to be really sore now to prepare (although they were when I first got BFP.) I am in a bigger bra size than before pg though (in one of my old pg bras). haven't got my scan til 17th June and think I'll go mad by then. Hoping someone will be able to tell me it can be ok for sore bb's symptom to go away if you've had a DS before, and not to feel sick!!!!

TinkerbellesMum · 25/06/2008 21:23

If you're not driving there's no reason why you can't have a drink or two if you're not making it a regular occurrence.

I've not hidden my pregnancy because I think I would rather have support from people if something bad happened without having to explain too much, rather than either not having any support or having to explain that I was, but aren't anymore. Being high risk it's something I have to take into serious consideration and I don't have any belief in any magical figure, pregnancy is fragile whatever date it is.

I can't really say the first trimester has dragged for me because I missed 2/3 of it! Last month won't because I won't last long. Last time I spent 4 weeks in hospital (20-24 weeks) came out for 2 weeks and had to go in for strong BH but hurt myself and spent most of a week in. It was only 4 weeks after that Tink was actually born. It actually made things go quite quickly.
