had sore bbs now i don't at 8 weeks. and no other symptoms - worried! anyone had this?

TinkerbellesMum · 25/06/2008 22:03

Knax, it's perfectly normal, I don't get symptoms at all (4th pregnancy) and didn't know till last week I was pregnant because I felt so normal.

Jelliebaby · 26/06/2008 10:31

You are all so lucky to have no symptoms. I have severe MS and have already spent 2 days in hospital with it, I have been given Cyclizine (anti sickness tablet) to take 3 times a day but it has little affect.

I've got my scan 8th July, i will be 8 weeks by then and the reason it's early is because they are checking for twins, apparently thats a sign of being so sick so early.

I had no MS with DD so not use to it at all, i'm off work sick and going on hols in 3 wks so hoping it ends before then.

Does anyone know when MS ends? I know it's usually 12 wks but has anyone had it stop earlier? I'm hoping coz it started so early (5 wks) it night end early?

MarkStretch · 26/06/2008 10:57

Hi all

I am off sick from work today. I had a whole day training and I knew I wouldn't have the energy to concentrate so have re-arranged it all. Am having a lazy day at home catching up on sleep and working my way through a pile of magazines.

Luckily it's sunny here at the moment and a lovely day.

Jelliebaby sorry to hear you're having such a hard time. I'm not sure when it's supposed to end but at least they seem to be keeping a close eye on you.

oooggs · 26/06/2008 11:12

jelliebaby - with ds1 the feeling sick eased at 12 weeks but it was still there until he was born and I wasn't sick often

with the twins I was sick every for 14 weeks then it subsided.

I have been signed off with sickness [suprise suprise] until 9th July

LuLuBai · 26/06/2008 11:22

Hi Knax - try not to worry too much. My boobs swelled up much more last time. I am wearing a button front dress today that I couldn't button up at this stage of my last pregnancy (and I was quite a bit slimmer then - so my boobs were REALLY disproportionate).

I'm finding soreness comes and goes. Some days I wonder if I actually dreamt the whole BFP and other days I definitely feel pregnant.

PinkTulips · 26/06/2008 11:39

jamescagney, where in ireland are you? exciting to have 2 of us on the same thread

i got up in the middle of the night last night to open a window and had such a bad rush of blood from the head i lost my vision completely and got a splitting headache that only faded a few minutes ago. dying sick again, back to not being able to force down food.

knax, symptoms can be remarkably differant from preg to preg, with dd i was very ill from 8 weeks, had agonisingly sore boobs and all the odd syptoms like metallic taste in my mouth. with ds i threw up a couple of times and was a bit tired and that was about the extent of it!

wouldn't it be funny if a few of us on the same thread were having twins, i'm half tempted to go back to the doc sooner than 10 weeks to ask her for an early scan but dp is on work experiance for the next month and we still haven't sorted the second car so i wouldn't be able to get to the hospital anyway!

having an easy day today, dp has an unexpected day off and is being a sweetie, it's funny, he was no use at all when i was having dd, barely better with ds but this time round he's being really sweet and understanding and really trying to give me a break..... 3rd time lucky i guess!

LuLuBai · 26/06/2008 12:10

Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeurgh

Just made error of dipping into pregnancy thread about 'what you wish you had known about labour and post labour' .

littleboyblue · 26/06/2008 12:17

Oh no lulu I've posted on that, so know what it says!
Don't worry, you might be a lucky one. You know what though? It is all worth it. When you look at that little baby for the first time, all the pain will just disappear. It really will. You'll be fine.

PinkTulips · 26/06/2008 12:19

tee hee hee..... it's all ahead of you

honestly though, you laugh about it afterwards

LittleSarah · 26/06/2008 12:33

Hmmmm, haven't looked at that thread. (Fingers crossed for another home birth here!)

Phoned midwives about my booking appointment, after they hadn't got my referral last time, and they're going to phone back, hopefully today with appointment.

Really feel so lazy at the moment. Have lots to be getting on with but finding it so hard to motivate myself. Grrr.

Apparently totally normal to have no/loads of symptoms! I didn't notice a thing 1st trimester last time (some mild nausea), now feel ill ill ill! It's twins or a boy, I just know it!

MarkStretch · 26/06/2008 12:41

I think I may have had my first craving.

I have just eaten two tins of mackerel fillets in curry sauce. Out of the tin with a spoon. God it was good.

TinkerbellesMum · 26/06/2008 12:49

I just want to remind you all I have set up a map for us to add ourselves to. If you email me (tinkerbellesmum at ymail.com) I'll send you an invite to add yourself to the map.

LuLuBai · 26/06/2008 12:58

Yup - Littleboyblue - first one was really OK. And hope it will be pretty much the same this time. It's all that silly stuff that you forget like how teeeeny the paper pants are (that and the fact that I was deluded when I bought them in size 10-12) and how scared I was of going to the loo for ages and ages. And the sheer number of maternity pads I got through.

imaginewittynamehere · 26/06/2008 13:01

MarkStretch - just reading your craving makes me want to heave...

However I am sitting here eating a completely unreasonable amount of lettuce (healty no?) smothered in blue cheese sauce (hmm not so healthy!)

Tinkerbellesmum have emailed you

PinkTulips · 26/06/2008 13:11

o jesus girls, stop discussing your creepy cravings or i'm gonna puke on the pc!

TBM, am heading dowmstairs now but will email you this evening about the map.

things are eerily silent downstairs... either dp has gotten ds to sleep or dp has fallen asleep and the kids have escaped

hope he is asleep, could just about manage some crisps i think and don't wanna share

MarkStretch · 26/06/2008 13:12

Oh dear. I have made the mistake of watching Adoption Stories on Discovery whilst reading the labour thread.

I have been crying with sadness and hilarity for the last half an hour! Very snotty now.

Hang on I'll find the post that really got me going....

MarkStretch · 26/06/2008 13:16

'That the first time just you and your baby are together & everyone else has gone and you study each others faces, you will be overwhelmed and there is no other feeling in the world like it.'

This got me sobbing!

MarkStretch · 26/06/2008 13:17

I remember that so well.

Sorry for the TMI regarding the cravings. If it makes anyone feel better I now stink of curry and fish and DH was just physically repelled by my delightful scent.

Tink- going to email you now.

LittleSarah · 26/06/2008 13:37

Cravings is one thing I didn't have last time and don't seem to have this one. Why can't I get that instead of MS??!

Guess what, midwife phoned and the referral from GP (who I saw two weeks ago) still hadn't arrived. I mean, they are one floor apart! Which makes sense when I think about it as the doc was under impression nurse would refer me... and midwives say no, doc does it! Anyway, she's getting it sent up so hopefully I'll find out next week sometime!

littleboyblue · 26/06/2008 15:26

Sorry LuLu, assumed it was your 1st.

Jeelie baby your sickness sounds awful you poor thing.
I am still suffering MS. Mainly just before lunch, and late at night, but I feel sick all the time. It is so odd. How can a baby make you feel so poo?

Jelliebaby · 26/06/2008 16:06

Biscuitytrousers - Thats lovely, it bought a tear to my eye. I have a 3yr old DD, we have told her about the new one and she's very excited - although she is adamant she wants a baby brother and adamant she wants to call him Edward.....

Bumpvlump - it is really odd how a pea sized baby can make you feel yuk and also look yuk, I have a face of spots, im sure its the hormones....can't wait to feel normal again.
