so sorry nonickname. best of luck for the future.

was dd's last day of playschool today and they had a party for all the playschool and todler group kids....... 40 kids hyper on suger..... fun!

gotta get til sept 1st now with 2 toddlers underfoot whilt spending more time worshipping the porclein godess than minding them

haven't told anyone yet, although i think a few have guessed. we have a playschool moms night out on the 11th though so it'll be fairly obvious when i'm not smoking or drinking at that! will wait til then, don't feel like the whole village knowing if all goes to shit.

Neeerly3 · 20/06/2008 19:59

anyone else bloated and looking about 4 months gone already? I haven't told anyone at work yet and I am finding it really hard to suck in my 'beer' belly. I need a way to shift either this air or water retension....OR if I really am this big at 6 weeks, it's gonna be a LOOONG pregnancy!

chilledmama · 20/06/2008 20:00

Oh nonickname I'm so sorry for your loss. I do hope things improve after your ERPC and that you are able to start TTC again soon.

oooggs · 20/06/2008 20:53

Big hug to you Nonickname, I am so sorry to hear your news.

Evening ladies. Haven't been on for a couple of days due to extreme knackeredness having returned to work after two weeks off. DD has also been a bit poorly and woke a couple of times last night ? I was so sparko that the monitor didn't wake me ! That's the first time that has happened. Luckily DH heard and settled her back down.

I thought I'd check in before I hit the hay tonight to see how you all were. Neeerly3 I am feeling exactly like you (6 weeks tomorrow) ? jemmied myself into my skinny jeans today and spent all day trying to restrain my bloated gut from hanging over the waistband.

I have been feeling really faint and wobbly in the early evenings and have been on the brink of passing out a couple of times, expecially after a brisk walk to the station.

loopylula · 20/06/2008 21:39

Just wanted to say to all you first timers out there, if you are going to buy a pregnancy book get the "Rough Guide to Pregnancy" by Kaz Cooke I bought it last time round and having dug it out this evening I was reminded how flippin hilarious and brilliant it is. I spent many an evening laughing out loud and wistfully nodding my head in agreement reading Kaz's pregnancy diary.

And just to add to loopy's post, stay away from Gina Forde, she hates us!

Just adding myself to your list as had BFP this week. DS is 15 months and this little bean will be my 2nd!

TinkerbellesMum · 20/06/2008 23:48

BumpVLump they say that the first is worst for that - second + time your body can stretch better (like blowing up a balloon, letting it go and then doing it again).

Titch10, normally you would see your CMW around 8 weeks, the hospital MW at 12 weeks and so on every four weeks. Have you booked in with your CMW? You should be able to ring them whenever you need advice about something.

NoNickname, sorry for your news.

Don't worry EthelredTheUnready, my partner's older than you

Neeerly3, yes but I think that's just what's left of Tink's bump!

littleboyblue: "And just to add to loopy's post, stay away from Gina Forde, she hates us!"

LOL so true! There is a group on FB called "I hide Gina Fords books" she's tried to tell them they're all going to be done for theft I told her person good luck, even offered to tell him where I live to give him a head start...

MarkStretch · 21/06/2008 08:17

Morning all.

I have been a lucky person. I went to bed at 9 last night and slept and slept and slept.

This morning dd (5) brought me a bowl of cereal in bed! And DH is downstairs making me a pot of tea. Very relaxing after a week at work

We told dd about the baby during the week and we have DSD (6) coming today to stay overnight so will tell her too.

We have some new furniture arriving on the 2nd July so have decided to spend the weekend clearing out rubbish we no longer need and making room for it all. We had considered painting the dining room but depends how exhausted I feel!

McDreamy · 21/06/2008 08:22

Oh Markstretch what a lovely start to the day! I have been wondering when to tell DD. She is 5 and I don't want everyone talking in code around her, she's not silly!!! I think she should be one of the first to know! I am hoping for a scan in a couple of weeks so will probably tell her then.

littleboyblue · 21/06/2008 08:35

Might have to join that FB group!

Hope everyone well this morning. I'm having a fat day, again. Rhe bad thing is I'm not sure if it's a good idea to hold my fat bit in like normal.

MarkStretch · 21/06/2008 09:04

McDreamy I dithered about telling dd but I felt like we were talking in code a lot around her and I felt a bit disloyal so we sat her down and explained what was going on but also made her aware that sometimes babies don't stay in your tummy etc...

We have been looking at websites togeter so she understands what's going on. I tried to find her a book but they either skirted around the issue and the book started with Mum on the way to hospital or they talked about sperm and willies and I didn't think she was ready for that!

Also all the books are about 'Mum and Dad' and DH is dd's Stepdad so again it didn't really apply. I'm still hunting for one that suits!

TinkerbellesMum · 21/06/2008 09:26

I've been telling Tink, even if it doesn't mean much to her. I asked her if she wants a brother or a sister she said "sister"! I got Mum to ask her ("she's too young to know") she said the same again. She knows who her brothers are and she points to Lily-Hope and either says "Lily" or "sister".

loopylula · 21/06/2008 09:32

Mornin all!

MarkStretch We are doing exactly the same as you except we are clearing out the loft ? which is groaning at the sides with junk. I plan to do a bootsale to raise some funds for a couple of new baby bits and a bed for DD.

Lol at the GF book hiding thread! Goodluck to them . Personally, I wouldn't buy a book off of anyone who was so dam vindictive about people's personal opinions, even if I did agree with her techniques, which I don't. Its all about making pots of cash for some.

McDreamy · 21/06/2008 09:46

Markstretch how are you going to answer "how did the baby get in your tummy?" I'm sure DD will ask me and as you say I think she's not quite ready for sperm etc

TinkerbellesMum · 21/06/2008 10:02

Miriam Stoppard has a book (Questions Children Ask: And How to Answer Them) I've seen in Tesco that answers the difficult questions in an age appropriate way, with a list of answers for each age group. Pregnancy is covered in it too.

She says for 4-6:

You were made from a seed from Daddy and an egg from Mummy. Daddy's seed and Mummy's egg joined together in Mummy's tummy to make you, so you're half made up of Mummy and half made up of Daddy. You're a very special person and a wonderful mix of Mummy and Daddy.

(If you look on Amazon it's on the preview pages for all the age answers!)

Cocodrillo · 21/06/2008 10:59

I've just found out I'm pg with no 3 after 1st cycle of ttc! Due 26th Feb. Early days, but can I join you?

McDreamy · 21/06/2008 11:50

Thank you Tinkerbellesmum

Welcome cocodrillo and congratulations

McDreamy · 21/06/2008 12:11

Don't know why but Im feeling really flat today? Anyone else feel like that or am I jut becoming a miserable cow?

MarkStretch · 21/06/2008 12:25

I can't believe I'm still knackered after all that sleep. We've done a trip to homebase and now DH is in the shed sawing and measuring. Hopefully I should have some new shelves soon. I'm hanging out with dd eating jaffa cakes.

McDreamy- luckily I haven't had any awkward questions from dd yet! Dsd is 6 and a half and will probably want to know though. Hmmmm, better get my thinking cap on

MarkStretch · 21/06/2008 12:27

Welcome to cocodrillo too.

And you're allowed to feel flat McDreamy, you're hormonal! I have felt down this week. Maybe it's the initial euphoria wearing off and the real life kicking in?

Cocodrillo · 21/06/2008 13:29

It's a grotty day, too. At least is here, down sarf. Is not conducive to a good mood!
