Sorry to barge in and interrupt Ladies, but I thought you might like to know that captaincaveman is being kept in hospital until monday. She's been given a steroid injection just in case but seems fairly calm at the mo. I think that the hospital are being cautious and taking the necessary precautions so I hope she is being well looked after.

TwilightSurfer · 14/06/2008 15:11

Thank you Swaliswan.

Ooh weekend of enforced rest for Cavey, make the most of it Missus! And don't forget to tick the salt box on the meal planner, makes a big difference tastewise .

dizzydixies · 14/06/2008 16:42

hi all

have had a wee tour of Fife today, went to a soft play this morning as dh still struggling with his weirdy virus and I was too tired to chase them - was empty and girls weren't fussed so didn't stay too long

decided to pop off down to Anstruther and have a wee pootle on the beach (nothing to do with fab chips before poppy 'outs' me ) girls got onto beach/trousers rolled up/ shoes off and the farking heavens opened

back in car up to St andrews, sun shone all the way, got there parkes, farking heavens opened again!!!!

gave up and came home

anyway, don't feel guilty about papping them infront of telly for a few moments before tea as they haven't been inside all day lol

been chatting to CC on texts, her bleeding is now more like spotting which is great news, steriod injection just in case and consultant says staying in till it stops completely - have asked if she has someone to help at home and she says her mum will

she managed to get some sleep and sounded much more positive, bless her, what a worry but fingers crossed its just a blip and nothing serious

poppy not a chance in hell and I going on it - do you not see how much we slate the people who go on the show lol although I think I should and we could do a MN challange to see how many mumsnetisms I could get on it like fanjo/norks as I serve up fruit shoots and Gregs sausage rolls

Shazza2002 · 14/06/2008 18:03

Evening all.

Good to have an update on CC, sounds like she is being looked after well. Hopefully she will home on Monday and back on MN x

Absolutley knackered, walked round a fete for 3 hours, came back and fell asleep for an hour, but now feel even worse. Why does that happen.

So too tired to cook and have burgers and oven chips for dinner

Shazza2002 · 14/06/2008 18:07

Oh, can't believe I forgot. Pram chassis was delivered today (to my mums). Tried it in my car boot and it fits, only just but at least I can fit it in there. Will be able to fit the body in too (that's being delivered next week). Phew Now feel a whole lot better about things.

My friend who gave birth last Saturday is still waiting for her pram Shop told her it would be due end May. She wasn't due herself until 19th June bet even so. So not to worry any of you ladies

Out of interest, am I right in thinking the minimum anybody has is about 6 weeks, and the maximum being around 11 weeks???

oopsacoconut · 14/06/2008 18:15

Shazza - I have 10 weeks and I think ALBS is first on the 24th July - 5 and a half weeks eeeeeekkkkk.

CC enjoy the imposed rest as much as you can in hospital. have some homemade choccie biccies [biccies]

Shazza2002 · 14/06/2008 18:46

Well I'm 33 weeks today. So 7 weeks left roughly until baby, and 4 weeks at work. It suddenly seems very real doesn't it?

cyteen · 14/06/2008 19:05

I'm 30 weeks on Monday [joins oops in the stragglers' corner]

Thanks for asking after me Sazz, I actually feel fine today - think having a good rest yesterday was the right decision. I do feel like I'm getting a bit of a UTI though so that is probably the cause. Am seeing the doc on Monday and midwife on Wednesday, and mw is taking another wee sample from me on Monday too, which is all good.

Much more concerned about CC and babe, although tis great to get an update and know that she's being well looked after. All the best CC

Yet another pram mission scuppered We decided to walk over to the little independent shop as it was such a nice day; got a bit turned around en route and ended up taking ages, meaning we were so knackered when we finally got there that we just had a pub lunch and got a taxi home Was a lovely walk though, most relaxing and now I feel all virtuous for having done some exercise [hides chocolate biscuits]

Which reminds me: pelvic floors, girls!

alittlebitshy · 14/06/2008 19:34

shazza eek at your pram only just fititng inot bot. I haven't tried ours in ours but we have an (old) estate so if it doesn't fit in that it won;t fit anywhere.

Baby is in a really uncomfy position at the moment. on Tues they say it was head down, but it feels all awkward now, so who knows

Our fete was good. The weather was basically fine - mixed sun and grey but only a few spots of drizzle.

Feeling a bit pants again (I think that I might be looking at PND again, judging by thw way I've dipepd in the last week or so. ) so will go now so as not to whinge.

we have ordered an Indian taeaway so looking forward to that......

Shazza2002 · 14/06/2008 19:43

Well I only thought about the size of it after I ordered it I have a Clio though so the boots don't come much smaller, but feel a lot more relaxed now. Did not want to have to decide on another pram.

If you are feeling down surely this is the best place for you, we'll either support you nicely or tell you to get a grip woman Only joking of course

Could just be a UTI Cyteen, I know from last pregnancy that they only really worried if there was protein if BP was high too. Been weird for me actually, last pregnancy had high BP from about 20 weeks, then just went downhill from there, but thankfully this time I've only had a high reading once. Makes me feel I can give 2 fingers to the doc who as good as made it all my fault because I'm overweight, fact is I'm about 3 stone heavier than my 1st pregnancy so she can just sod off. Sorry didn't mean to rant

dizzydixies · 14/06/2008 20:22

evening ladies - another CC update

she says bleeding has stopped and she is to have another steroid injection at midnight as a precaution but is being very well looked after and is enjoying the rest

cyteen I forgot to tell you - got a farking letter today telling me the the protein in my urine was from an infection and I've to get to the docs for antibiotics - this is from my midwife appt on the 6th would be furious except have no symptoms other than peeing a lot which I had just put down to bump lol

shazza great news about the pram - well done on sending it to you mums suppose I should really sort mine out now instead of organising everyone else

and for those of you with the lazy teas - am in, we had curly fries/ onion rings/ breaded chicken fillets and dips all bunged in over and eaten with fingers was yummy

ALBS and Shazza did you pick up the tray bakes required for thread snacks tonight btw?!?

albs PND needn't be such a huge problem if you're aware of it - I think its when you don't have a clue that its happening and you wonder if you're not normal it can become ugly - we're all here to help and support with whatever you need I think CC and I are the experts on that too lol

HazieDazieandBaby · 14/06/2008 20:44

Hi girls! Hope everyone is having a relaxing evening. Just sitting with my feet up enjoying a cup of tea courtesy of DH!

Today's scan went really well - yay!! - I've uploaded a cuple of pics too. At first she was hiding again and I thought we'd never get anywhere, but I went for a walk and she decided she'd had enough of playing hide and seek and started showing off! We had a KT Tunstall song on the cd that we made up for them to use as the soundtrack for the dvd and it looked like she was singing along at one point! Think I'll have my work cut out for me with this one!

Glad to hear that you're doing well CC and that you're enjoying your rest! Looking forward to hearing from you again soon.

Yay on your pram fitting in your boot shazza! One less thing to worry about! I think there's been a problem in general with the delivery of Silver Cross prams - my work colleague was waiting on her forever and ended up sourcing one at the John Lewis store in London (may be called Peter Jones store actually ) and getting it delivered up this way. Fingers crossed your friend gets hers soon.

On the subject of prams, if you really liked your friend's one cyteen, I would just go with that. At least she'll be able to give you advice on it that they may not give in the shops, her having actually used it in everyday situations. I meant to ask before on a completely unrelated topic, how're your driving lessons going? Have you booked your test yet?

at your infection dizzy! God forbid they acutally relieve any pain you've been in or anything! I forgot to say, next Sunday is cool for me, as long as you don't mind me tagging along, being a non-Fifer and everything? I promise I won't let you all lead me astray!

dizzydixies · 14/06/2008 20:51

oohh look at her hazie all snuggled in and comfy bless her she suits her name too!!!

will be great if you can come down on sun, one of the girls who is coming and wasn't due for another 5 weeks had a wee girl on Fri but still wants to come lol

cairnie fruit farm

here's a link but will give you directions once we've checked the weather to make sure we're all good to go am just hoping meeting my two devils cherub girls won't make you hibernate for the next wee while lol

TwilightSurfer · 14/06/2008 20:56

Dizzy why wouldn't your MW phone you for reasons like infection?? I'd be very unhappy with her.

Glad Captain is doing so well.

I've been sleeping. I just have no energy and my tummy is troubling me....gastric-like not pregnancy....well maybe a bit pregnancy as the baby has bumped around ALL DAY LONG. Thankfully DH is home to entertain DD.

Hazie nice pictures. I wish I'd thought of music for my scan. Might have to dub it in.

31 weeks here but hoping I have less than 9 weeks to go. Just can't imagine how much more uncomfortable I can get and be SANE!!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 14/06/2008 20:58

I had the very same thought TS sample was sent up to hosp, she then got results and wrote a letter 3 days ago when had she phoned I could have had an appt and been 3 days into antibiotics instead of having to wait until Mon when its highly farking unlikely I'll manage to get an appt

stupid way of doing it imo

miamla · 14/06/2008 21:05

evening all, we've had crazy sorting day here. DP has done loads and i've mainly got frustrated at not being able to help but hey, still got loads done.
DP now playing on the WII...you'd think he was 6yrs old the way he celebrates a win! very sweet though!

good to hear CC that you're on the mend. aren't those steroid injections painful!! did they explain about the notches to you?

as for this facebook thing that you're all doing. i do have a facebook profile and i'm more than happy to share but not sure i want to see all you lot! its like reading a book and then watching the film. when you're reading a book you create a picture in your head about what all the characters look like. But then when you watch the film you're seeing someone else's interpretation. hmm i'll have a think about it!

so come on, who's hogging the tray bakes? i've had dinner already but i'm still really hungry!

HazieDazieandBaby · 14/06/2008 21:56

Come on miamla, JOIN, JOIN, JOIN! We're even more amazing in RL than we are on MN!

I've just spent the amount of time on Facebook tonight that I have in total since I joined, iyswim?! Thanks girls!!

Wow dizzy she's keen, it must be worth looking forward to then, I can't wait! And I'm sure your little ones won't scare me too much! I'm glad you think that the baby's name suits her, I couldn't imagine calling her anything else now, so phew!

The scanning studio recommended that we take a cd along of some music TS, or they could have put some classical stuff on for us, but it was good to pick some music that had a bit of meaning. We had 'Yellow' by Coldplay, 'Under the Weather' by KT Tunstall and 'Dreams' by Gabrielle. It was hard to pick 3 songs to begin with and then we got on a roll and wanted about 30!

poppysocks · 14/06/2008 22:02

Evening all. Horrible day here. Flatmate from uni died this evening. Can't believe it. Just collapsed this morning and her parents agreed to turn off the life support when it was clear there was no hope, this evening. She was 31. Think it was meningitis or scepacaemia (sp?). Very shocked. Things had been awkward when I last saw her in April for lots of reasons I won't go into, so that feel horrible too. Worst bit is hearing our lovely boy flatmate sobbing. Just can't believe it.

dizzydixies · 14/06/2008 22:10

poppy, what a shock and such a terrible waste let me know if there is anything I can do

{{{{{hugs}}}}}
