Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:16

albs am shocked that you ask
do we join the Aug08 postnatal or the July one

If you're here you join the August one!

My official due date has been revised to 31 July but if you think I am moving out of my comfort zone to talk to (gasp) strangers you are wrong!

We can start the postnatal one early.

Gosh that will be weird.

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:17

Don't stop! Ttell us about your keaky issues

PetitFilou1 · 24/06/2008 12:18

albs agree with VG btw

I will be so fed up when you all start popping and I am one of the last ones (but pleased for you obviously!)

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:19

And about your bixes. Weeta or Oati?

Oh dear can you tell I am avoiding work again?

PetitFilou1 · 24/06/2008 12:20

Oh and btw no-one seems to have put Kamillosan (for sore nipples) in their hospital bag. Brilliant stuff.

And albs I am also interested in the bixes your friend gave you (visions of numerous boxes of Weetabix around the house)

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:20

I must say I am really really hoping for July.

PetitFilou1 · 24/06/2008 12:21

VG - Great minds....

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 12:21

lol. Okay!!!!!

Hmm - assuming i'll be one of the first wil I keep on here or sit on my tod ona postnatal one? But frankly I can't START the postnatal one - twlilight has to do it for us .

And don't say I won't have time to come on - with dd emails etc saved my sanity so inagine how much safer my sanity will be with Mn this time!!

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 12:23

oh ffs - just cos I type faster than my s l o w brain works.............

at bixes

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:23

I got Lansinoh (sp?) for sore nipples. I went a bit overboard in Mothercare & got gel breast cooler things (cabbage leaves effectively) you put em in fridge and also a thing called Feme Pad (God, the names) which is a sort of sanitary towel-shaped gel pad you stick in freezer then put in gauze pocket then into your knickers to ease pain of bruising, stitching, or whatever you're having yourself. How you cope with rivers of blood gushing around it am not 100 pc sure but I was in the mood to be sold cures that day!

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:24

Maybe a message could be got to a later-dater who could start the pn thread.

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 12:24

oooh ooh ooh, me miss - i put Kamiliwotsit in my sponge bag just yesterday. Admittedly said sponge bag is not packed into a hospital bag yet , but hey.....

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 12:25

no i didn't - i got lansinoh. duh!

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:25

Oooh sponge bag! Makes me think of Malory Towers!

I am going to pack a sponge bag too .

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 12:26

think i've lost the plot. and now i'm single handedly filling up the thread without twilight here to be on hand to start a new one... What time is it over there anyhow?? Where is she???!!!!! HOw dare she have RL.

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:27

I also only got one bix of maternity pads so think should stock up on those, don't think DP would partic relish being sent off for them. In my memory bleeding went on heavily and clottily for about 2 months - is this really possible or have I blown it out of proportion?

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:28

Is the limit on posts or pages?

Why am I the only one who has packed nothing?

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 12:28

I'm sure I bled for at least 6 weeks......

My friend (the one who gave me the "bixes" of breast pads) also gave me lots of maternity towels. Which her dp lovingly named loft insulation .

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 12:31

limit is on posts - i think it's 1001......

I've not packed per se. I've purchased, and put stuff on spare bed - although I did do some work on the aforementioned malory towers-esqe sponge bag yestersay... I reckon I'll be packing into tesco bags 5 mins before we need to go for the section lol. God help me if i go into labour before then.

PetitFilou1 · 24/06/2008 12:35

Lansinoh - yes you two have spelt it properly and I haven't -but you get the gist. Haven't packed anything either VG don't worry!

I bled for at least 6 weeks too.... used bixes of night time towels instead of maternity ones (I think they just put the word maternity in front and then charge twice the price)

Mil calls it a 'toilet bag' not a sponge bag

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 12:38

Sounds like a colostomy bag!

I only used mat ones in early days so far as can remember, I suppose it depends on weight of bleed. Yucky yucky.

Oh I wish I had a maid, I could write out a complete list of things to be done. Cannot cannot cannot lever self to achieve them. Perhaps when finish work . Also DS breaks up tomorrow!

Sibh · 24/06/2008 12:45

Think of the poor woman who gave birth to a Cactus ...I'm wincing just thinking about it.

Buckets · 24/06/2008 12:49

I got Lansinoh too, bloomin expenisive it was! I also got some washable pads off Ebay - you know, opened box but clearly unused/unwashed. I also used to tip the breastshell contents into the kids' milk (my boobs leaked for weeks despite not breastfeeding DS!)

Got 2 packs super nighttime towels. I only bled for a couple of weeks each time, don't know if it's a CSection thing? Did lose a pint straight after the 2nd one though, maybe there wasn't anything left LOL?

Right, GP has just called to say I'm referred to Physio and will be phoned today or tomorrow re SPD. That means I might as well go out doesn't it? Off to buy lunchboxes for the kids.

cyteen · 24/06/2008 12:57

LOL at all the randomness this morning! Honestly, I go out for a couple of hours...

Buckets C or G names, hmmm....Conrad? Kester? Alright, I know that's a K, but the sound is the same. Cillian? Like lovely Cillian Murphy, mmmmmm.....focus cyteen, focus. Um, can't think of any G names that I like - sorry! My fussiness knows no bounds.

Also, I laughed about your guinea pig being 'loose in the undergrowth of my garden' - afraid I read it a bit wrong and instantly thought ladygarden What an image.

Expectant I used to work for an examining board and the names from Hong Kong and Singapore candidates did tend towards the old-fashioned. Loads of Doras, Mabels, Myrtles, Alberts etc. (and this was before such names started making a comeback over here). A friend who lived in HK for several years also met many young folk with adopted 'Western' names like Circle, Cheese etc. Maybe that's where Chris'n'Gwynnie got the inspiration for Apple from

Sibh I've already instructed DP that he is to pack his own bag of snacks and drinks, since he won't be getting his hands on any of mine

sarahnh have some hugs, and some luxury ice cream to soothe your throat. It sounds truly vile, hope the Piriton is helping somewhat.

Had a lovely morning with my NCT friends and am now back on the sofa being haired on loved on by the cat. I can forgive her though because her purring has woken up my lazy baby and made me feel a bit less panicky about him being so quiet.

TwilightSurfer · 24/06/2008 13:03
