Hi all - and congrats to pyjamarama and paro!

I had a decent nights sleep for a change and also had amazing dreams - one including Jack Bauer of all people (have been overdosing on episodes of 24 recently!)

The sun is out today! Visiting a friend today but not much else apart from that. Just walked up the stairs and had to sit down with exhaustion! I'm almost 37 weeks so really must get that TENS machine out of the box and pack final things in my bag!

I've added myself to the list:

Morning all...

Had a dreadful nights sleep, my mind was whizzing away, so will no doubt be exhausted later.

The graduate list is really coming along now! I'll still be here into the next thread at the vey least I'm sure.. . Apart from my imaginary BH the other day there is not the slightest hint that anything is going on. However, my 'undercarriage' seems to be better so I'm not going to bother seeing the physiotherapist.

DHs bday today so will be busy all afternoon. The sun is shining though, yay! Have a good Saturday and I'll no doubt check in later.

Upsidedowncake · 31/05/2008 10:12

Congrats to Paro, she's got her DH very well trained.

Emotionalwreck - when's your DD's birthday? DS is 20 November 05 and is a little monkey

Though being very sweet at the moment. We all got up at 5.30 this morning to take DH to the airport, I am having a recurrent bout of cystitis and DS has let me flop on the sofa for half of this morning. God I hate cranberry juice. (Hospital has lost my results so can't have drugs till they know what bug it is.)

sophiewd · 31/05/2008 10:43

We have a Jan 06 cheeky monkey, she definitely knows her own mind.

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 10:50

sophiewd DD born 26th Nov 05! Spooky that we are both spawning sprogs at the same time!

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 10:50

Sorry - meant upsidedowncake

Thank you everyone for your welcome. It is great to know that there are others going through the same thing - particularly as I am not doing any antenatal classes or NCT this time around.

debinaustria · 31/05/2008 11:18

Welcome Bun2 How are you feeling?

I am 39 weeks today and I'm ready, I still can't quite believe that we'll have a baby in the house after 6 years gap !!! You'd think I'd have got used to the idea by now wouldn't you?

bun2 · 31/05/2008 11:24

Hi Debinaustria. I am OK thanks. Baby's head is engaged and have been having false labour pains for 2 weeks. Can't get too excited or hopeful as DD1 was induced at 40+8 so think it will be unlikely to be early this time.

I know what you mean about having a baby in the house after a big gap, my DD1 is 5 now and very helpful. Just can't imagine having a baby as well - going to have to though aren't we!!

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 11:28

Has anyone been getting shooting pains right up their undercarriage (sorry if tmi) especially when they stand up?

I'm having strong BH's all day but no pain other than the above!

Tell me its a good sign????????

bun2 · 31/05/2008 11:37

My m/w says that those shooting pains are the baby's head pressing down on the cervix. I suppose the good news is that it means the baby's head is fully engaged??

Can fully sympathise - been having plenty of those myself - people think I am mad when I start jumping with them!

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 11:41

I know what you mean! My DP keeps going pale everytime I shout out in pain!

bun2 · 31/05/2008 11:50

Yes, I almost feel like a ticking timebomb - at least that is how I am made to feel. Almost feel a bit mischievous sometimes....

alipalli · 31/05/2008 11:51

Morning all. Congratulations Paro, and well done Mr Paro for keeping us up to date. .

I have finally created a MN profile for me and got DH to take a photo of my pg self at 40 weeks which I have also uploaded. The baby is due tomorrow, so realised my time for taking bump pictures was running out, in theory at least...

Hope you all have a nice Saturday, and Essie that your DH made it home eventually.

debinaustria · 31/05/2008 11:58

allipalli - you look great, how are you feeling? You could be next!!

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 11:58

Thats one beautiful compact bump - and it looks pretty ripe!

alipalli · 31/05/2008 12:07

Like all bumps it certainly doesn't feel too compact, but thanks for the kind words! I am feeling fine really (although obviously I am moaning to DH at length). No major signs that things might be imminent. I suspect I will be waiting a bit longer somehow. Shame though, as I like the idea of "1 June" as a birthday.

ktpie · 31/05/2008 12:09

LauraT - cross posted before and just noticed your post about bras, wasn't meaning to ignore you!

GF - your inside out dress made me feel better about my floury trousers!

Debs - made me laugh about the thin baby to fit on the changing table!

Pyjamarama - congratulations on the birth of William, looking forward to seeing the pictures.
Am pretty much 37 weeks now, flipping heck this baby could come at any time! Am also inspired to pack my bag in the next few days. How funny that your DH was packing you a book to read!

G43 and Neenz - glad to hear you are both getting on well.

DQ - I may start saying Crikey and Blimey! Since I've been pregnant me and DH have realised just how much we do swear!

Paro - congratulations!

It's nice weather here so think I will go and sit outside for a bit. Hope everyone else is enjoying some sun!

goingfor3 · 31/05/2008 12:58

Hello all,

Congratulations Paro

Baby is wearing his first cloth nappy today, not sure if I'm too keen as it seems so bulky. Due to the nappy he has to wear 3-6 month clothes!!! I think I might try again in a few weeks.

poppy34 · 31/05/2008 13:04

big congrats to para and pyjama -am very jealous as feel huge adn uncomfortable and just looked at calender and could be here for over another month if am 2 weeks overdue -

No sun here so feel justified in lieing on sofa till later when will lug my hippo bulk to watch indiana jones.

systemsaddict · 31/05/2008 13:16

Happy due date to me, happy due date to me ... Thanks for asking deb, but I'm still feeling exactly the same! Except bump v. v. tight and quite painful - probably just because of too much walking yesterday but it's annoying as it stops me doing the things I want to. Nesting instincts had to be fulfilled by spending 1/2 hour unravelling a ball of string from the junk drawer this morning unnecessarily. Oh and I also fixed a leak from the loo handle which has been flummoxing me for months - just suddenly 'saw' the (very easy) solution - didn't realise hormones can turn you into a handywoman too!!

Ds completely recovered from his throat infection, just tired and a bit difficult today, but he's sleeping now and I'm hoping for a 3 hour monster nap from him, and he'll be back to his usual angelic self tomorrow. Either that or he has timed the start of the terrible twos to perfection ...

I've got most of next week planned now with something nice every day - I learned from last time when I sat at home waiting and uncomfortable and nearly went mad for 2 weeks! Lunch with friends at a pub tomorrow, but dp doesn't want us to go because I'll be overdue - I think he thinks a neon sign is about to light up on my head so people know just by looking at us! I shall serenely ignore him and carry on doing what I want (am doing lots of that at the mo - hence the phil & teds purchase ).

It was me with bras4mums Essie, they seem to have expanded a lot since I was last pregnant when it was pretty much a one woman band I think. It was such a luxury having a home fitting last time, so I definitely want to hold out until after Tuesday this time!

Congrats to Paro, lovely news

katyjo · 31/05/2008 14:23

Congrats pyjama, lovely name!

Neenztwinz · 31/05/2008 15:09

Congrats Paro and pyjamarama - love the name William.

My DTs are upstairs having their nap. I have been following Gina Ford's twins book (loosely) and it seemed to do the trick last night. They can't quite make it as long as she says they should between some feeds (eg they can't go from 6pm to 10pm) and they don't stay awake as long in the day (awake from 1.45pm to 3.45pm? No chance!) but they are not doing too bad. It is a guide to follow anyway.

Last night they fed at 6pm and then again at 9pm and again at midnight. Then they went until 4am , and they would have gone longer but I woke them because I knew if I hadn't done they wouldn't have fed at 7am, which is the start of our day.

So they are showing signs of wanting to go longer between feeds at night, I just need that to be from 10pm till 2/3am, rather than from midnight to 4/5am.

I had two glasses of wine last night which also may have been the reason they slept so long!

dylansmumplusone · 31/05/2008 16:41

huge congrats paro and pyjama!!! am very like everyone but hopefully all the eggs will be hatching very soon!

i'm grumpy and miserable and so am keeping to myself to avoid bringing everyone else down. we took ds to 'playhouse disney live' this am (booked months ago) which was so hard on my poor body but definitely worth it, first live show he's ever seen and he was very awed and dancing like crazy. the odds of my moving much for the rest of the weekend are pretty nil though.

PregnantPenguin · 31/05/2008 18:45

Wow - we are quiet today. Neenz, it still sounds like you are doing an amazing job, well done!

This may sound silly, but I still find it amazing that one day people are posting on here moaning about how they're fed up with being pregnant and the next time they post they've got a new little person with them - or even more amazing in your case Neenz, you've got two! I know it sounds mad, but although I understand the theory, not sure I've faced up to my impending reality...

As much as I hate my hospital, I am already terrified at being sent home with a newborn. DH and I are going shopping for a reasonably sized teddy to practise nappy changes and sling fittings with tomorrow - and I'm not joking!

Having a bed rest / sofa day only today. SPD / groin pains, whatever they are so bad I thought I should try and give my body a complete rest.

Just watched "PS. I love you", definitely a cheesey chick flick, but as cheesey chick flicks go, quite a good one. I promise if your hormones are anything like mine you'll cry (lots). It was a really good release actually.

Hope you are all having really good weekends. And as someone said on the previous thread, I love having this thread as support when things are bad and cheerleaders when things are good!
