ROFL Amber at Seamen! I'm not far from the docks...

IME they won't let you use a pool if you're induced . Although you can still use the bath

Deb - glad the baby's ok but sorry to hear nothing's happening. It's good that your MiL can extend her stay.

Shame about all the porn careers going belly up (haha!).

Going to listen to my hypnosis CD and try to have a nap.

PearTart · 10/06/2008 12:59

Hi everyone,

I haven't been visited by the show-fairy, or by any of her baby-imminent fairy mates.
So I've got sod-all to talk about, apart from moaning about low back pain and huge feet.

Ss really happy to read posts about the newbies.

Don't think I'll get employment in the porn industry either. Although my belly is fine so far, I got a few SM's on my hips in puberty. Although they'd faded so much I only noticed them during a checking session a few months ago.

I did hear that we're supposed to stop getting bigger around now, but I seem to be ballooning more than ever. I'm down to just a few tops that are long enough to meet my jeans.

I like the new title DM- sums it up well.

Rolf · 10/06/2008 13:00

How annoying, DQ. I am feeling meanly jealous of my friend who gave birth a few weeks ago on her due date, and had a lovely homebirth. I'm convinced my stupid body will hold out on me and I'll have to be induced and will have loads of stitches

PearTart · 10/06/2008 13:01

Bugger- the nearest docks are miles away!

Upsidedowncake · 10/06/2008 13:01

I like Dylansmum's idea too. Mine was just bored whinging!

PearTart · 10/06/2008 13:07

Envious of all the squishy NB photos so have put some up of my own munchkin in case anyone's bored.

Sniff- get out Baby!!!

bitofadramaqueen · 10/06/2008 13:08

Peartart I feel a bit that I've nothing to say either. No show, no cervix action, no sweeps booked... Just sitting here absolutely melting.

I did get my Next nursing pj's though. Really like them - it has a drop down bit like you'd expect but it still has another layer underneath with a gap for feeding so I think it would be good for some discreet feeding if caught in pj's by visitors. Only £20 so quite pleased with those. Am currently waiting for a new phone which I'm a bit excited about. In process of setting up a baby blog and I'll be able to post directly to blog from the phone at the push of a button.

On the subject of stretch marks mine are all on my things . Thankfully, you wouldn't catch me in shorts very often anyway but those days are clearly long gone...

PiggyPenguin · 10/06/2008 13:14

Hey everyone, I liked dm's title too.

Josey - scream as much as you like on here. Thats what we are here for, you are doing fantastically well. Hope ds is better, and that Olivia is doing well.

Been to see mw today. Baby is still 2/5 engaged. He seems to be piling on the weight though, I know they are meant to go up a cm a week and he has put on 5 cm in the past 3 weeks. I was hoping to convince her to an early sweep but she wants to wait until the 22nd to sweep and the 30th to induce. I will be devestated if I haven't had him by the 30th! Especially as she goes on holiday on the 21st which means a different mw doing the sweep and she won't be there for my homebirth. I need therefore to have had this baby by the 20th.

PearTart · 10/06/2008 13:16

BDQ- sounds like a great purchase. I got some from M&P that I love. I heard of a good tip to answer the door in your dressing gown/ PJ's in case it's someone who you don't want to entertain all day. People react differently when you're not fully dressed. And I wish I'd had more of a Babymoon with DD1.

Don't understand how you can do a blog from phone- is it an internet phone? I only just upgraded from a prehistoric brick-phone a month ago. Unlikely to do my own blog but love looking at other people's.

bitofadramaqueen · 10/06/2008 13:24

PT it is an internet phone (a sony ericsson one), but basically you can take a picture and send it as a picture message with text directly to your blog. You dont have to go onto the internet or anything on your phone. Sony have set it up with google who do the free 'blogger' blogs that seem quite popular. It's pretty easy to set up -DH got one the other day and I set it up for him. Thinking it will be great when LO arrives to post cute pictures fairly instantly for friends and family who live far away to see.

goingfor3 · 10/06/2008 13:27

Harvey still has a temp so will get him to the dr's later. He is so fractious, which is very unlike him as he is generally very calm. He was weighed today by the the nursery nurse and he is now 10lb 6oz!

I didn't have a show or any labour signs until I was in labour.

whinegums · 10/06/2008 13:54

Back from antenatal, I didn't get a scan after all , just some prodding from a mw and registrar. Monster is head down after all, and 3-4/5 palpable - bit about mw this morning who said he was unengaged! Ah well.

DP has now gone away until Sunday for work, so hoping everything stays where it is for the moment.

Dq - blogging from phone sounds interesting, might investigate.

Essie3 · 10/06/2008 14:24

PearTart - I don't have any signs either, only wishful thinking.
But something else that's been bugging me is that I'm due on Thursday, and I still don't have any colostrum or anything from my breasts. Does that mean I can't breastfeed??

Would go on the bf board with that one but I hate it there!

goingfor3 · 10/06/2008 14:28

Essie3 I haven't even leaked any milk let alone colestrum and Harvey is growing very quickly on my milk.

looneytune · 10/06/2008 14:30

Not sure where we were at when I was last on here but many congrats to all with new arrivals and just wanted to tell Josey that her and her family are in my thoughts xx

Been to the midwife today and all ok. Unless I go overdue, I won't be having any more ante-natal checks now.

bun2 - I'm booked for a Home Birth and unless they don't have enough midwives when I phone in (i.e. they've been called in to help at hospital), I'm all set to go. My disposable pool liner arrived yesterday and I went to B & Q and got the hose and attachments How many weeks are you? I had to have a home visit & small risk assessment a couple of weeks ago but this all varies depending on area. you can only ask eh Any questions, fire away. I've been rubbish at getting on here but going to TRY my best to come on more now as I'm finally on maternity leave (finished Friday!!)

Hi to everyone else and hope you're all coping with the heat ok. I've found it hard but worse at night (as if toilet visits and indigestion weren't enough to deal with!). I HAVE to sleep with nothing on and on top of covers to feel comfy but unfortunately this meant being bitten all over the other night!

Right, off to do some cleaning. Catch up later x

systemsaddict · 10/06/2008 15:16

hi guys, another vote here for DM's thread title, in fact just noticed the thread count no. and thought I should start one off, hope I'm not cross-posting with someone else - thread here. Off over there to do a quick update, some drama here yesterday but no baby!

thegreenfairy · 10/06/2008 15:18

Afternoon all. Sorry not been on for so long. You can imagine I have my hands full!

josey am sending you and olivia positive vibes all the time. I do hope you get the MRI results today and some good news. Know what you mean about preggy faggers. Horrible horrible. DH and I thinking of your family and rooting for you all.

amberc re induction/ pools - I think it depends how you progress - worth finding out your hospital's policy on use of CTG as it may be they want to stick it on you all the time for an induction. You can refuse (they wanted to use it on my full time due to breech but I said no) but they do have to prepare the pool for you which makes it harder to insist on.

DH and I are slowly learning how to be parents and stay sane! We were certainly not prepared for what hard work it is, and how emotionally draining the first days are. Starting to feel normal after having the baby blues pretty badly from the day after my milk came in until about Saturday (four days). I have a WONDERFUL community MW - she is an utter angel and looked after me on day one of baby blues when Storm had been up all night and I was going insane.
Storm is wonderful and feeding like a trooper (often over an hour!) and was an ounce over her birth weight yesterday at eight days old.
My nipples are f*cked but I don't care!

Keep well all. Second round of love and hugs to josey before I go. You are an amazing woman.

fungle · 10/06/2008 15:23

What a lovely sunny day! Dont mind so much that LO is not out yet as have been sitting in the garden all day listening to ipod and reading while DD at nursery. Bliss!
Bought DP an emergency phone charger today....he is always running out of battery, and works in London Mon to Fri, so very important to be able to get hold of him ASAP if anything starts....whats the betting he'll forget to put it in his bag tho...
Whats the general view on semi permanant hair dye, no amonia? Feel like something different.
Hope all are having a lovely sunny day!

poppy34 · 10/06/2008 15:48

think its fine fungle - there was a thread on it on pregnancy. I am waiting to do my colour after baby arrives (so sometime in September ) as thought of sitting in hairdressers in heat too much. Also enjoying the novelty (as not coloured my hair since pregnancy) of seeing the original colour.

thanks for update greenfairy -glad you're starting to feel better after baby blues (and it may just be me as first timer but I've found it so helpful/inspiring to hear about how you people that have hatched are getting on.

Last post for me I guess before new thread

dylansmumplusone · 10/06/2008 16:05

lol amber! he is pretty sexy.

Amberc · 10/06/2008 18:17

Essie3 - I am due tomorrow and I haven't leaked any colostrum either my MW showed me how to squeeze it out if I wanted and said it would definitely happen but I couldn't bring myself to do it!!

Goodbye trusty thresad I shall miss you - hello new thread - hopefully my flipping birth story will be on it!!!!
