I should jolly well think so DQ, good night all

Upsidedowncake · 30/05/2008 22:01

Fantastic Pyjama. Ooops. Better get packing! Will is a lovely name.

How are you feeling?

alipalli · 30/05/2008 22:15

Congratulations pyjama - glad it all went well in the end

Essie3 · 30/05/2008 22:47

Oh my goodness, congratulations Pyjama! Aberdeen - I'm another one who seems to go for the public school exclamations on mumsnet. Good gracious, golly, my goodness etc. Dash it. I swear like a sailor in RL!

Very tired but friends coming and DH still stuck on trains - he caught his first train at 2.30 today so he's not a happy bunny. (Particularly because the train he's now on is a 5.30 from London - so he could have just stayed at the office, earned at least 2 hours more money - he's only paid for what he does i.e. self employed - and been here at the same time. at train companies and, ahem, suicides on a Friday afternoon.) Luckily friends are picking up DH.

I'm now going to decant my rlt into bottles - I drink mine cold.

Ooh, who was it with bras4mums? DH bought me my maternity bras from there (I suffered from AND, and was in despair about the awful ill-fitting bras from M&S) and they were superb. But there's hardly any mention of them on mumsnet.

Gosh, I really want to go to bed now!

debinaustria · 31/05/2008 01:58

I can't sleep - no signs of labour, just restless, I quite like these quiet moments in the middle of the night. Just had the required milk and choc chip cookie!!

So, 2 due today - Sytemsaddict and Lazylou - how are you both doing?

PearTart · 31/05/2008 04:56

Congrats Pyjamarama- William obviously couldn't wait to see the world. Hope you get lots of TLC with your sore belly. Lovely name

PearTart · 31/05/2008 04:58

Oooh, and congrats Paro too, can't wait to hear more...

PearTart · 31/05/2008 05:07

I'm just awake from excitement really. I have been feeling "ready" for the first time this pregnancy. Not sure if this is because I hoovered the car/ received my TENS at last, or just good old fashioned hormones at work.
Been snuffling up to DH but he worked until late-late and I know he'll be useless tomorrow today unless I let him sleep...

Just crept in to look at DD who's sleeping peacefully with her peachy fat cheek squashed against the mattress and her faithful giraffe at her side. Ahh

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 07:15

Morning Peartart - I too appear to be waking early feeling energetic, but only for about the first hour of the day! Been awake since 5am reading in bed (not very energetic!), when my DD walked in clutching her lion saying "Its not being naughty, it was just a haccident." The consequences of not having a wee just before bedtime....

Congrats to paro and pyjamarama - I'm so

Ended up at hospital yesterday afternoon after a visit from the community mw. Had headache for 2 days and was feeling sick. BP 150/90 and a bit of protein in wee. Anyway, all bloods ok and CTG textbook normal so back home in time for tea!

Headache now miraculously disappeared and just left with a feeling of impatience.....

debinaustria · 31/05/2008 07:25

Morning again

I was up for 2 hours in the the early hours again , but still couldn't sleep any longer today. There's only me and ds1 up, just waved off some guests , have the remaining 3 here for another week.

Peartart Your dd sounds so sweet. I'm also feeling ready!

Emotionalwreck - hopefully you'll be popping soon!! Due 2 days before me, was your dd early/late?

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 07:36

I had gestational diabetes last preg so despite being unfavourable for induction they attempted it the week before my due date. Needless to say it failed and I ended up having a section 2 days before EDD.

So this is new territory for me - a relatively normal pregnancy! Consultant thinks I'll go overdue if BP behaves as internal exam shows no effacement going on...

The4y have said that if they can break waters 5 days post EDD they will, otherwise they will offer a section again. I'm torn between wanting what I've experienced before and what I haven't! The woman in me wants to have a normal delivery, but the wimp is screaming "HAVE A SECTION YOU BL*Y IDIOT!!"

PearTart · 31/05/2008 07:41

Ahhh! Emotionalwreck- your DD sounds lovely, bless her! So cute how they find their favourite animals. How old is she? Hopefully not too long for you now. Glad tests all OK.

Hi Deb- who's staying with you this week?
My DD's up now- just when I feel like curling up again.

aberdeenhiker · 31/05/2008 07:42

emotionalwreck the woman in me (who had a normal delivery) says that the manner of the birth doesn't matter - it's our competitive child-selves who get hung up on how it happens... good luck regardless...

I've a cold now today - I think that will delay labour for even longer, as I've heard your body wont go into labour when you're sick. At least it might lessen my anticipation...

DS said his first sentance this morning: "Daddy sit here!". He knows who's the boss (I'm overall in charge, but my poor DH is at the bottom of the hierarchy).

debinaustria · 31/05/2008 07:46

LOL Emotionalwreck at the decision you might have to make. I hope for your sake that baby decides to arrive on it's own accord.

I don't know what to expect as both births have been quite different. With ds1 waters broke at home in the morning, went into hospital , contractions built up and he was born in the evening.
With ds2 contractions started 1st at home in the morning, after timing them, went into hospital, continued with contractions until early evening, then waters broke with a huge gush and ds2 was born 6 minutes later.

My fear is that this time contractions won't start, the waters will break with a gush here or in the car or at the shops and this baby will be born as quickly as ds2 - i.e. not in the hospital with assistance.

PearTart · 31/05/2008 07:46

All my friends who are expecting 2nd babes (self included) state a preference for the type of birth they had before. I think it's a case of "better the devil you know".
Until one friend who's just her her 2nd had a different (in this case much less medicalised) birth and was really happy.
She said she was better informed and more ready, and anyway- your body leads you and makes some of the choices itself. It'll all be fine in a week or two's time...

PearTart · 31/05/2008 07:50

Hi Aberdeen, LOL at family hierachy, poor DH (prob true here too)

Hope your cold is a 24 hour thing only. My DD has a cold, I'm hoping it's one I have had, or that it goes before Baby arrives (at least that's likely!)

debinaustria · 31/05/2008 08:01

Peartart, I have Mil here with us for 3 weeks to look after the boys when I go into hospital, and also to help me.
We also have paying guests in the large apartment, they are here for another week, they go on my due date, then it's 4 days break before next 8 arrive.

sophiewd · 31/05/2008 08:06

Good morning all - unlike you lot not bright and breezy, DH was snoring loudly due to drinking last night (his last night out) and then we have the family from hell staying (well not really) but on tenterhooks as to how early their children going to wake up (huge screaming sessions last night) and how loud they are going to put TV on. SO breakfast some ironing and a quiet afternoon. Feeling a bit weird very unlike last pregnancy just need to hold on for 2 more weeks.

Congratulations Paro hope all is well with all 3 of you and welcome Fleur.

Pyjama - just realised how soon you were sent home after section [shocked]

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 08:08

PearTart DD is 2 and a half and a little mink - pic on my profile. She also sleeps with a giraffe like your DD. Its like a zoo in her bedroom... (except there's no sh*t, just a large amount of urine this morning!)

Aberdeenhiker love the hierarchy - we say to our DD "who's in charge?" and the answer is always "Me!"

debinaustria fingers crossed you're where you want to be when things get moving - or should that be legs crossed?

PearTart · 31/05/2008 08:13

Emotionalwreck- she looks like trouble in the cutest possible form.

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 08:29

Yeah, you can just imagine her calling my MIL frogface, whilst smiling innocently

PearTart · 31/05/2008 08:53

(how inventive- were you secretly proud?)

emotionalwreck · 31/05/2008 09:13

It was one of those moments you'll remember when you're old
