Morning all, it's my due date today so I'd like my baby now please!! No signs here, have tried the pineapple and sex but don't like curries!! Heard the boys peeping in our room to see if we were still there this morning - they were most disappointed that I wasn't at the hospital.

How's everyone else doing?

Rolf - Did you get back to sleep?

PP - shame that you couldn't enjoy a lie in -

Fungle - will you get chance for a rest later after your nocturnal awakenings?

Sophie - Don't work too hard, glad the sun's shining for you - pouring down here. We have a 4 day break now between guests so plenty of time to get the apartment turned around - I was hoping not to be here for this changeover though!!

Makecakes - How are you? Mastered the bfeeding? How's CJ doing? Does she sleep swaddled still?

Upsidedowncake · 07/06/2008 08:28

morning everyone

hope you are all doing well, josey

lol all the pineapples and curry - sorry they don't seem to have worked yet!

got cross with dh last night as he woke me up at 1.45am as I was snoring! What does he expect with a woman who is nine months pregnant!? Anyway, he is rather sheepish and apologetic this morning! He was fantastic last night and waited on me hand and foot after my P&T adventure - so i should forgive him!

enjoy the sunny weekend, everyone!

fungle · 07/06/2008 08:29

Happy Due Date, doing anything nice? sun shining here today, DP still snoring so not sure of our plan yet, something nice outdoors for DD I think. Could nap later if I like, not very good at naps tho.
Washing machine beeping its finished....get the washing on the line, what a sight for sore eyes 9 months preg me in unicorn pj's. Lush.

fungle · 07/06/2008 08:30

Sorry, happy due date was meant for Deb, and anyone else due today

Upsidedowncake · 07/06/2008 08:31

fingers crossed and legs uncrossed for you today, debs.

PearTart · 07/06/2008 08:39

Morning All
Feeling so much better after some relatively good sleep, glad it's the weekend.

LOL at all of us keeping the pineapple import industry going.
Fortunately I love them. Today we are planning on a long/ stompy walk along the river... to a play park for DD and to nearby Tesco for more!

We did also have a v nice Thai green curry the other night- wasn't expecting any results but it was v good indeed.

Deb- I hope your baby complies! Maybe put on some disco and do a bit of baby- boogie and get him moving.

alipalli · 07/06/2008 09:18

Josey - thanks for taking the time to update us. You, Olivia and your family are in my thoughts at the moment, hope that you get positive news from the MRI scan.

Rolf · 07/06/2008 09:58

It's my due day today as well, although I have no feeling of things being imminent. Given how chaotic DH and I are I would be amazed if our baby arrived on its due date!

I was up for ages in the night as DD had got into bed with me and was kicking and squirming. Grr..

pleasechange · 07/06/2008 10:13

debs & rolf - congrats on your due dates, fingers crossed for you both!

I wish I could get pineapples for £1!! Had to make do with some pineapple juice this morning, not sure if that would have the same effect!

PiggyPenguin · 07/06/2008 10:15

Josey, you and Olivia are in all our thoughts and prayers I'm sure. Fingers crossed that everything looks positive after the mri. Keep us posted if you can, as we will all be worried for you.

I woke up really excited this morning as I had few twinges. They were very mild but about 10 minutes apart and I was starting to wonder if this was going to be it when they got further apart and then stopped. I could have cried! Still, a move in the right direction I suppose.

Happy due date to everyone due today, hope it's lucky for you.

Amberc · 07/06/2008 10:23

Had really nasty pains in the night and seriously thought that this was it but then they went away and all is back to normal today. How dull.

dylansmumplusone · 07/06/2008 10:24

morning! i'm due today as well and am trying to be very proactive - my mum made chilli for dinner last night to which i added a wee bit of tabasco, managed to have sex for the first time in months (SPD feeling much, much better for some reason), and going to acupuncture later today with a woman that my osteopath recommended that specialises in pregnant woman. apparently she can help my cankles and try to get things going at the same time!! fingers crossed for that and then tomorrow providing nothing happens i go in to the birth centre for a sweep.

something has to work!!!!!

bitofadramaqueen · 07/06/2008 10:36

Happy due date for those that are due today, and hope that anyone overdue has some action this weekend!

I had a blissful nights sleep and didn't get up once

Today all about spring cleaning the kitchen... I'd like to say the nesting bug has kicked in but it's more that it needs to be done and I'd rather do it on a day that DH is at home so he can help/do anything heavy. Unfortunately the sun is shining though!

emotionalwreck · 07/06/2008 10:44

systemsaddict sorry so late replying... Plan for me is if cervix isn't playing ball on tuesday they will give me a date for a section, which will probably be no more than 40 + 10. Consultant did say that they will check the cervix again on the day of section just to give me one final chance at a vaginal delivery. Baby's estimated weight is 9lb so I'm quite happy that I get every option available!

Alipalli I too have been a victim of the human time bomb theory! My butcher knows I'm overdue and his wife has told me he keeps a separate mop for me (in case waters break), and when I appear in the shop he makes me jump the queue. He's a biut like Arkwright (sp?) from Open all Hours....

Josey You sound so strong and together. I'm really praying for Olivia and all your family.

On the subject of curries, I had an absolutely vile one last night that gave me constant heartburn between 10.30pm and 2am! DP let me lie in this morning though which was lovely. DD not impressed though and kept shouting "lazy bones" up the stairs!

LauraT · 07/06/2008 11:34

morning all, am trying to keep up the impetus of tidying left by my Mum and have finished packing mine and the baby's bags this morning as well as folding and putting away all the clothes that she washed and ironed yesterday! Am also nearly finished the paperwork I need to send in to work for my end of year appraisal thing, so feeling smug and motivated! Had a great night's sleep last night too for the first time in a week, and the sun is shining in Glasgow!

Happy due date to those celebrating (?) today and fingers crossed for some updates later! I'm sure DHs will appreciate the time off around now as the football starts today for the next 2 weeks!

systemsaddict · 07/06/2008 13:03

Ah of course EW, they won't induce you again after a section will they. Good that you have both options, and clarity as to what will happen when.

Horrid night's sleep here for me, we all have a nasty rattly cough and I needed to sit up every time I coughed because my stomach muscles aren't strong enough to clear it lying down, so didn't get more than 1/2 hr at a stretch ... Felt great yesterday and vile today, but ds is sleeping now and dp is up and about and will take him out later, so my main 'shift' is done (dp is terrible in the mornings and that's my best time, so no lie-ins for me - it'll be a shock to his system when we have both kids and he has to get up!).

Ds' ear is still weeping after perforating last Monday so he needs to see a dr. again Monday - so long as I'm not actually giving birth at that point ... it would be terrible if his hearing was damaged because of his sister's arrival delaying access to treatment.

He's fine in himself though, just enjoyed his Sing and Sign class (I did check with the teacher first she was OK having me there!). Had another unexploded bomb moment when the teacher's husband insisted on leaving his mobile 'in case you need to call an ambulance'! - this man has 2 small children - even if it happens fast, it's v. unlikely to be completely without warning! Makes me laugh - perhaps I should go into purdah from now on?

whinegums · 07/06/2008 13:25

Hi all. Josey - you and Olivia and Mr Josey are in my thoughts.

Good luck with all your preparations Dylansmum, Debs, hope things kick off for you properly soon as well.

I'm off to my chum's for tea and cakes and much girliness this afternoon - my not a baby shower!

Had some very good news last night, another one of my chums is pregnant too, extremely pleased for her.

Finally found a comfy position to watch TV/chill out - not very dignified, but past caring. I have one of those massive Fatboy beanbags, and have found a way to kneel on a bit at the bottom (so knees don't get sore) and flop over the top. Takes all the weight off my bump and I think is quite good for foetal positioning. Saying that, monster is all over the place and I actually had a triangular shaped bump at one point this morning!!! Very freaky!

Rolf · 07/06/2008 13:53

SA - my DD's eardrum perforated a while ago and I was told just to keep it clean - she didn't need any treatment. It was horrendously gloopy - I was bathing her about 3 times a day as she hated having her ear cleaned - but she wasn't otherwise distressed by it.

I so hope I go into labour today, if only to get out of my house! The chldren are all playing up. This horribly slow build-up is like the worst PMT so I am very irritable and snappy, and with all the pains (no worse than they've been for the past 3 weeks though) I'm not very nice to be around. DH reckons he has to go into work today but he's been saying that since 9.30am and still hasn't left. MiL and FiL are both ill so they are asleep in their apartment.

Bet I'll still be here in 2 weeks. I am no longer listening to anything my body tries to tell me - it lies.

Hope you're dealing with the due date with more grace than I am, Deb .

Hope everyone else is ok and less grouchy than I am. Special love and thoughts still to Josey and Olivia.

Rolf · 07/06/2008 13:55

Dylansmum - forgot you are due today as well .

debinaustria · 07/06/2008 14:13

Rolf and Dylansmum - I am not coping with my due date with grace either Rolf!! I have been v short tempered with everyone today. Still having BH, felt like baby has dropped further when I was coming back from the shop.
Despite having 4 days until the next guests dh wants to get the apartment all ready today so mil did the kitchen, he's been doing beds and hoovering. I've just done the last 2 bathrooms and I'm knackered. Am going back in to mop floors on all fours - maybe it will have the desired effect
Boys are getting fed up of helping!!I think they want me out of the way so they can relax!!

systemsaddict · 07/06/2008 14:18

Thanks Rolf! It's perforated many times before but always cleared up and stopped gunking in a few days before now, which was why I was starting to get worried - but then he has a v. snotty cold at the mo as well so it may just be more stuff from that coming up the tubes. Will endeavour not to panic!

Am also feeling PMTish, v. fragile and vulnerable and slightly crampy, might just be discomfort after the internal yesterday though, which did leave me feeling a bit bruised. Let's hope these are good signs for both of us...

Dp has just come back from shop with chocolate, bacon and newspaper, so the day is looking up :-) is it wrong to eat chocolate before bacon sandwiches??

bun2 · 07/06/2008 14:30

Hello everyone.

Happy due date to those of you due today. Will be thinking of you.

I'm still feeling periody and PMTish but had a much better sleep last night so not as horrid as I have been of late.

I had pineapple for lunch and just about to have a RLT.

Off to see SATC tonight with DH - will remember my cushion.

bitofadramaqueen · 07/06/2008 14:31

No its not wrong to eat chocolate before bacon sandwiches SA

Rolf · 07/06/2008 14:54

Have the chocolate first!

Bun - hope you enjoy SATC. I went to see it a few days ago (on my own during the day - lovely and very decadent) and had a lovely time. But my goodness they do look OLD

Upsidedowncake · 07/06/2008 15:38

Happy due date to Rolf and Dylansmum as well.

DH about to take the P&T on the tube as well ... but with two bottles of wine in the baby cocoon bit instead of a dolly! I wonder if he gets any comments about his precious cargo!

Went off for a walk in the countryside this morning. DS is on and off travel sick so we are normally fairly well-prepared and have three changes of clothes in the car. Apparently that's not enough ... he barfed four times (twice there and twice back)! He's perfectly fine - when we got back, he ate his own body weight in cottage pie (three adult helpings). Just thought ... hope he's not sick on the tube. He never has never been before.
