needahand · 05/06/2008 17:22

Oh I have just read AH's post about josey's baby. First big congratulations to Josey for her baby girl and then loads of hugs, love, prayers, positive vibes etc.. that she improves quite quickly.

poppy34 · 05/06/2008 17:27

sending love and loads of good wishes/prayers to josey and her little girl.

allipalli - not sure much logic re her abdominal muscle theory .. basically they'll need a bit of tlc to get over any size of bump! Not sure about the all out front bit - I was for ages and paris definitely looks like a girl to me (although a very punchy/kicky one). And if having words got em out, she'd be here by now (either that or I may as well resign myself now to the fact she won't take any notice of her mother).

emotionalwreck your mw sounds like she is a right badger...

makecakesnotwar · 05/06/2008 17:39

Sending big hugs and prayers to Josey, Mr Josey and baby Josey....xxx

alipalli · 05/06/2008 17:43

Yes - lots of hugs and best wishes Josey thinking of you and your little girl.

bitofadramaqueen · 05/06/2008 17:44

Aberdeen thanks for the update on Josey They're all in my thoughts and prayers and I hope they get some good news soon.

sophiewd · 05/06/2008 17:45

Think of you and your family Josey, hope your little DD pulls through.

systemsaddict · 05/06/2008 17:48

Just adding my best wishes for Josey and family.

looneytune · 05/06/2008 17:59

Just a very quick post, noticed the news abotu Josey and just wanted to send good luck vibes her way, thinking of you all and hope she pulls through!! xxxx

Lorettah · 05/06/2008 18:01

Sending my love & best for Josey and family - hope LO is able to go home soon.

spongebrainbigpants · 05/06/2008 18:18

Paro, little Fleur is absolutely gorgeous, you must be v happy both of you.

Sending love and best wishes to josey too, hope she is able to bring her little girl home soon.

Sorry to hear lots of people getting frustrated with madwives/consultants - can totally relate.

bitofadramaqueen · 05/06/2008 18:31

Ktpie I assumed appointments might be weekly too, but MW says unless anything happens she doesn't need to see me any sooner. I have to say, I was happy enough not to have to rush back and see her...

PP trying to think of frivolous gifts but my pregnancy brain not working. There must be lots of lovely frivolous things? We've got everything we need in terms of equipment (and a few more frivolous things beside) so I've just said clothes/toys to anyone that asks because we've only got (plentiful) newborn/basics etc in.

Am not loving this carpal tunnel syndrome thingy - my arm feels really weak. I'm so glad I've finished work - there is no way I'd be able to manage. Unfortunately, it does put paid to my study plans .

Feel a bit bad moaning about my arm atm though. Here's hoping we hear good news about Josey's little girl soon.

Amberc · 05/06/2008 18:45

Good luck Josey - hope everything goes well for LO x

Allipalli - wow you have a lovely nursery! Fleur is so cute - I bet you can't stop looking at her!

Annoyingly went for 2nd sweep today and the MW said because the unit is full with overdue women who have finally popped I couldn't have it - how rude !! She said i'm allowed to go into labour after lunchtime tomorrow if I want which I told her I'd bear in mind. Got a new sweep booked for Sunday now instead (I'm now on 3 day appointments and the cab fares are killing me £25 each way!! I cannot do public transport - I've tried - baby needs to get here fast or i'll go bankrupt!).

debinaustria · 05/06/2008 18:49

Hi , thanks AH for letting us know about Josey.

Josey sending you love and get well wishes for your dd. Will keep thinking positive thoughts for her.

goingfor3 · 05/06/2008 19:00

Josey thinking of your and your family.

goingfor3 · 05/06/2008 19:07

PregnantPenguin, not overly frivilous but my mum bought baby onbe of these and I really like it

www.lulasapphire.com/interiors/blankets-bedding/default.aspx It's one of the tops ones for £18, the others look great too!

Amberc · 05/06/2008 19:17

I've got one of those lulu sapphire blankets - lovely and soft!

katyjo · 05/06/2008 19:29

Love and hugs to Josey I can't imagine how difficult it is for you. My thoughts and prays are with you and I hope you and your family are all home safe soon. xxxx

Mia was just in hospital for 48hrs so seems like nothing compared to what Josey is going through. I was able to stay with her and we had our own room and bathroom. The worse part was when they put the canula in her arm, I couldn't stay, my Dh had to stay with her. I went and cried my heart out, felt like a terrible mother. All is fine now, and I'm sure it will be for Josey too.

Great birth story Paro I can't believe after all your complications you had a natural birth, some good pushing too! She is beautiful.

goingfor3 · 05/06/2008 19:39

katyjo All of my babies have had to have canulas ans neither me or dp stayed with them when they had it done, it's so heartbreaking seeing them in pain. I couldn't even watch then take it out of DS this time round as I felt I couldn't see him upset. I'm sure many parents feel the same.

systemsaddict · 05/06/2008 19:48

goingfor3 I had hip pain like you describe after ds. Dr just recommended anti-inflammatories and said it would settle on its own eventually. Saw physio after 5 weeks but she didn't do v. much, it did settle down a lot on its own - but flared up again regularly till I saw the chiropractor for the SPD this time round, she just clicked it back into place and it stopped hurting straight away. It popped out again at about 38 weeks (because of the relaxin I guess) but the chiro sorted it out again in one click. I am fully expecting it to go out again this time, either during delivery or at some point in the couple of weeks afterwards, and will get the chiro to re-pop it in, then hopefully it should stay in the right place once the hormones have settled down. Sorry, that's a long way of saying I second the recommendation to see an osteopath or chiropractor, if what you get from the GP / physio doesn't do the trick!

PiggyPenguin · 05/06/2008 19:59

Just logged on and have seen the news about Josey. Sending her love and best wishes, as well as congratulations. Hopefully we will hear some good news from them soon.

Rolf · 05/06/2008 20:24

Josey - congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I'm so sorry that she needs all this extra care - I can't imagine how distressing it must be for you and your DH. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
