Ladies forgot to send you some virtual Anzac biscuits earlier on, so here they are enjoy. I've eaten lots already, so it's lucky that there are any left.

I'm not antipodean, but I spent my gap year in Australia when I was 18, got homesick and did lots of comfort eating. The recipe came from the first ever cookbook that I bought: "Australian Women's Weekly Basic Cookbook", it meant that I couldn't mess the biscuits up.

debinaustria · 05/06/2008 21:11

If I don't get on in the morning I'm off to an antenatal appointment at the hospital . Fingers crossed I don't get the scary sonographer again.

My plan/fantasy is to go to the labour ward 1st where they monitor baby for about 10 minutes. I'm hoping that I'll have a few BH, they will announce that actually I'm in labour and am already something ridiculous like 8 cms dilated, so I may as well stay in and have my baby!!

So tonight I'm putting last minute things in my bags and will have them in the car just in case!!! It would be lovely though - no rushing there, deciding if you're in labour or not, panicking about getting there on time etc...

Chances are that by lunchtime I'll be back home with at least another week or so to go !!

debinaustria · 05/06/2008 21:30

Had to come back on with Ernest's news!!

Text opened with OMG !!!!She had a baby girl at 12.30 today, she said baby was sleeping lots and she was too.

Sorry I didn't announce it before but I'm rubbish with phones and didn't see my message!!

poppy34 · 05/06/2008 21:31

Have updated the list with Josey and Ernest - I used the very last list posted so if anyone has dropped off they definitely dropped off before that one!

Big congrats to Ernest and good luck with your appointment tomorrow Deb I hope you get your fantasy birth .

My fantasy birth will take place next Saturday btw. I'll go in early in the morning and be home by teatime. There'll be minimal pain, breastfeeding will be easy peasy and no visitors will arrive until Sunday.

LauraT · 05/06/2008 21:55

Congratulations Ernest, here's hoping your itching has stopped!

Josey lots of good wishes and thoughts with you hope your LO is getting better by the hour.

KatyJo glad Mia is better and Yorkhill wasn't too bad an experience.

have had a lovely day with Mum, who is, we've decided, nesting by proxy. it's a bit like Munchausens by Proxy, but much tidier! she's washed and ironed everything in the house, including baby clothes/nappies. organised me into sorting out loads of old clothes, made piles for hospital bags (not IN the bags yet, but tomorrow is the day for doing that !) Then she hoovered the house and polished all the mirrors, this was all done by half eleven when we had an early lunch and went into town where we did Bravissimo (34H, for gawd's sake...)John Lewis, H and M (cheap breast feeding tops!) and several other shops.

Then we came home and she started ironing everything she had washed in the morning! I am currently in charge of supervising the folding of clothes, and will be on putting away duty later... I'm exhausted just watching!

we even managed to fit in coffee with my BF for an hour this evening!

I am considering renting her out for nesting duties elsewhere if this continues!

hope you're all well and those of you who're overdue here are some eviction notices for your LO!

dylansmumplusone · 05/06/2008 21:57

congrats to Ernest!! look forward to all the details.

lots of positive vibes, thoughts and prayers to josey and her family. xx

debinaustria · 05/06/2008 21:58

Ernests itching was finally under control before the birth thanks to the steroid cream she was prescribed.

debinaustria · 05/06/2008 21:59

Your Mum sounds great Laura.

PearTart · 05/06/2008 22:09

So much happening!

Congrats Ernest; looking forward to hearing the details when you're ready.

Thinking of you Josey and your babe.

Paro- what a journey, glad Fleur is at home with you and you are enjoying her.

Thanks everyone who's asked about DD. She's not well and keeps having temp spikes above 40. We are getting up every few hours through the night to monitor her and treat accordingly. There doesn't seem to be much pattern to this and we are apparently doing as much as can be done. The virus has to run its course. Needless to say; I'm really tired and struggling to keep DD happy when my own resources are down.
And I'm so fed up with being pregnant too- at the point where my body doesn't feel able to cope.

alipalli · 05/06/2008 22:12

Congratulations Ernest on your daughter's arrival. Hope all is going well.

PregnantPenguin · 05/06/2008 22:23

Thank you goingfor3 - lovely blankets and don't little ones look wonderful all swaddled up?

Congrats Ernest! Can't wait to see pictures. (Thanks for letting us know Deb, good luck tomorrow).

LauraT - How much for your Mum? She sounds wonderful.

BTW have we heard from Gemma recently? Or have I got pregnancy brain and missed a post?

Going to bed now, here's hoping that tomorrow brings some good news for you and your family Josey. You will all be in my prayers tonight. XXX

sophiewd · 05/06/2008 22:26

Many congratulations Ernest hope your recovery is going well.

Deb if you manage to speak to her can you tell her that nets went in post today.

Essie3 · 05/06/2008 22:33

A quick one before I go to bed. Finished the grouting - looks clean! In the end I used my own electric toothbrush (but an old head, obviously, I won't be using the same one tonight!)

Shocked to hear about Josey, hope all is well and thinking of them.

Penguin - ah well, we need to set ourselves another date!

Strangely annoyed - not quite sure why - but just got a text from my sisters-in-law, Kate&Kate, saying 'heard things had started, good luck'. Really bugged me! Not sure why I'm so annoyed about it. I mean, things haven't really started, so maybe that's it? Or maybe I'm just generally annoyed because of the pressure on me from DH's demanding family - his only sister being gay, and PIL quite conventional...pressure to produce...

Maybe it's just pregnancy!

bitofadramaqueen · 05/06/2008 22:44

Laura - Edinburgh isn't so far from Glasgow you know if you're mum's running out of things to do. I've got a huge pile of ironing and kitchen, lounge and wardrobes all need a good spring clean...

PP - Gemma hasn't been on for ages.

Essie - Sorry your SIL annoyed you, I get irrationally annoyed by texts sometimes. Though with me, I get a bit p'd off when family members text when they should phone. Although, then I get annoyed when they phone when a text would do

Peartart sorry your DD isn't much better, I hope it runs its course very soon.

spongebrainbigpants · 05/06/2008 22:47

Ernest, many congrats, look forward to hearing name/date/details and all the rest when you're ready!

The graduate list is getting longer . . .

Amberc · 05/06/2008 23:03

Congrats Ernest - did wonder after your final post which side of the list you were on - looking forward to pics and name!

Has anyone got a M&P Pramette - Just made me cry (v hormonal today and at the end of my tether) trying to put it together. Can't make it collapse - the man in M&P made it look so easy - horrid thing. Why does it start off in chair mode and not pram mode when you take it out of the box? Grrrrrrrr. I want to throw it in the river with frustration.

Rant over.

Rolf · 05/06/2008 23:25

Congratulations Ernest. What on earth are you going to call her? Are you already freaked out by her not having a willy? (I speak from experience - had to take a mw aside and ask how on earth to clean the baby!).

Good luck tomorrow Deb. Hope your fantasy delivery happens for you!

I saw my midwife today (the tactful one). She's made an appointment for next Thurs but doesn't think I'll need it. She wrote on my notes, in the "emotional" section or whatever it's called "Rolf is very happy and very excited and awaiting events!!". It was very sweet and makes my notes look like a primary school report .

I can't recommend the hypnosis CD highly enough. They really do help me to relax - everyone knows when I've just listened to it.

Katyjo and G43 - my DS2 had a cannula and I didn't stay to watch either. Far too upsetting. How is your hip, G43?

debinaustria · 06/06/2008 06:33

Morning all, everything's gone quiet here so I don't think it will be the fantasy labour for me today. For the 1st time in weeks I was only up once for a wee too. So I feel really well, hope the walk uphill from the car park to the hospital starts things off again!!!

Will send your best wishes to Ernest when I get to speak to her, think it will be a while before we get photos as she'll be in for a few days following the CS.

sophiewd · 06/06/2008 07:09

Morning all.

PMSL Rolf about your cleaning comment.

Didn't get a good nights sleep, the dog wanted to go out at stupid oclock and then couldn't get back to sleep. Breakfasts to do and then a huge pile of ironing while DH does rooms, 9 more days to go.

sophiewd · 06/06/2008 07:56

Peartart hope you had a better night with your DD.

Josey thinking about you today and hoping things are better

fungle · 06/06/2008 08:07

Morning all! sunny day here today, hooray!!
Does anyone else keep waking up really early?
before 6 seems to be the norm for me at the moment.
Had reflexology last night in an attempt to maybe start to get things thinking about starting..(38+3 today) Nothing! But did actually seem to sleep better. Drinking pineapple juice too. Has anyone else had any reflexology?
Just reading all latest posts, thinking of Josey, hope alls going ok.

sophiewd · 06/06/2008 08:14

Had reflexology last time, was very pleasant but didn't help, going to have a session next week to help my poor swollen feet. And yes to the early waking.
