majormoo · 31/05/2008 20:04

hope you are doing OK too Becky.

ChutneyMary/Artichokes-I felt a bit like you before having DS. Have sisters and a DD. Also the baby we lost was a girl as well, so was shocked when found out at the 20week scan that DS was a boy. Felt really strange that I would be the mum of a son. Guess it was similar to feeling like being a mum at all was an odd concept before having DD. Of course, when DS arrived he was and is a joy-an absolute delight (well except when he wakes a 5.15am)

BeckyBendyLegs · 31/05/2008 20:13

Hi there

I'm doing ok, slowly coming to terms with what has happened and wishing I hadn't told the world and his dog about my pregnancy as I've had to tell the world and his dog about what has happened to me now. I can't stop visiting this thread though and reading all about what you are all up to . It is keeping me sane! Keep smiling.

theyoungvisiter · 31/05/2008 20:34

so, so sorry to hear your news MsDynamo.

Becky, I hope you are doing ok, it is lovely to hear from you.

Indith · 31/05/2008 20:51

Sorry to hear your news MrsDynamo

Glad you are still smiling Becky and finding the support you need.

Congrats on the good scan results for people.

I don't want to find out the sex of this one, we asked for ds but he didn't want to play and as the pg went on I got to love not knowing (apart from the constant, so what are you having? Why did you not want to know? questions). I was nervous of a boy I admit but I love being mum to a boy now, can easily see myself with a gang of boys Girl would be lovely too of course but I think my preferences actually lean towards blue now

Verso · 31/05/2008 21:26

mysdynamo sorry our posts crossed earlier. I hadn't seen yours . Missed m/cs are so sad - I've had two myself and I found it devastating. I am so so sorry to hear you've gone through this.

EffiePerine · 31/05/2008 21:38

So sorry MsDynamo

rosmerta · 31/05/2008 21:39

evening all,

mrsdynamo am so sorry to hear your news

becky nice to see you, glad you're getting lots of support

Indith I'm the same as you, having had a ds first time around I can imagine having two little boys playing together more than I can a boy & a girl! But will be happy whatever!

kayzisexpecting · 01/06/2008 07:37

Indith and Rosmerta I am the opposite. I have a DS and would rather have a DD this time round. I'd be over the moon with another little boy but would love to have 1 of each.

Msdynamo I'm so so very sorry to hear your news. Take care.

Becky good to see you, hope you're getting time to take care of yourself.

hattyyellow · 01/06/2008 10:19

PS i always thought I'd have boys last time -as I have 4 brothers and 90% of my many cousins are male! I was so suprised to have 2 girls!

This time around, a boy would be nice but strange. I just know girl babies much better and we already have so much girl stuff it would save a fortune! Am still so glad it's just one this time around that it could probably be a Martian and I wouldn't care!

kayzisexpecting · 01/06/2008 10:25

We have loads of boys stuff so a boy would be easier.

Has anyone done those predictor things on the internet?

OP posts:
hattyyellow · 01/06/2008 10:33

57% chance it's a boy for me apparently! My SIL is also pregnant and sent me the below link - I'm not entirely sure if there's a shred of scientific evidence in it though!

Has anyone done the wedding ring on a piece of string test?

kayzisexpecting · 01/06/2008 10:35

I used this one. Its right for DS so hopefully it'll be right for this baby too.

OP posts:
hattyyellow · 01/06/2008 11:13

That one says boy for me too and it was right last time with girls.

Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Can you tell I'm supposed to be finishing off work today and am not concentrating at all!

I also found this - which lists which famous people were born on which day in December..

If my babe arrives on time it'll share its 22nd December birthday with Dame Peggy Ashcroft, two of the Bee Gees and Noel Edmunds! . Lots of cool people born in December though - especially around Christmas .

Olipop · 01/06/2008 12:56

Hello everyone
MsD so very sorry to hear your news...I have had a MMC too and it is so shocking. Big hugs to you and your DP.
Still pretty pukey but managing to keep more food down now so starting to get some energy back.....I haven't done any washing for a week and NEED to get my bum in gear. DS fell asleep on the sofa yesterday lunchtime so I joined him and we both slept for THREE HOURS!!!!! It was fantastic, but maybe a bit long..I felt like I had to drag myself out of a coma! Awful knock on effect was that he was awake this morning at 4.30.....I was not pleased!

Indith · 01/06/2008 17:09

Lol Olipop the other day dp came home from work and found ds and I fast asleep in our bed Slight downside is that ds gets seriously ratty if he has a nap too late on in the afternoon and I hadn't been awake to put the cottage pie in the oven so ratty ds had to wait for his dinner which made him even more ratty.

JamInMyWellies · 01/06/2008 18:23

Hi everyone still havn't managed to read the thread through properly. It has been my DS first birthday party this weekend. Blimey manic does not even cover it.

Am sorry for all those suffering morning sickness and tiredness, so far this time I have been ok apart from the dogs food turning my stomach. If I didnt look like I had a bowling ball up my shirt you wouldnt know.

Also very to hear about the mmc I suffered one in February this yr. I found the best thing to do was to take things at whatever pace I felt comfortable with dont feel rushed to do things and if you want to just carry on as normal do so there is no right or wrong way to deal with it.

Right really am off to try and read up properly and get to know you all.

majormoo · 01/06/2008 19:57

missed miscarriages seem to happen to so many women. It is scary. Hope you are coping Ms Dynamo

I have a stomach bug today so have been feeling wretched. Just starting to feel better now.

I did that boy/girl quiz and I am 52% likely to have a boy!

msdynamo · 01/06/2008 20:02

Hi everyone thanks for all your kind words, it really does make a difference at a time like this. Also knowing that some of you have experienced MCs and got through it. I am feeling a bit better today. I have to have a D&C tomorrow, which I think will help finalise things.

I shall keep an eye on your thread to see how you're all progressing.

becky thanks so much for your message. I'll have a look at the thread you mentioned.

Life goes on and as long as there's hope, there's always a way forward.

Take good care of yourselves and take it easy on the dime bars

Love to everyone, msdynamo

mibbes · 01/06/2008 21:15

msdynamo so sorry for your loss. I am extremely impresed with you philisophical outlook and positivity. I hope you can take comfort from the MC thread. Keep in touch. mibbes xx

majormoo I did the quiz (well the questions I can answer at this early stage !) and 80% chance of a girl. The Chinese chart also says girl - last time I looked at a Chinese chart it said boy ! I have a feeling it is a boy. Am not married, can I use a friend's wedding ring to do the ring test or does it have to be mine ? It is fun to test these theories but TBH a healthy baby is all I want

Nolda · 02/06/2008 09:09

msdynamo so sorry to hear your news. I'm thinking of you.

I have my scan this afternoon at 3.30 and I'm feeling very nervous. I hope they find someone wriggling about in there!

With DD I didn't have a scan until about 15 weeks but had heard the baby's heartbeat at the booking in appointment with the midwife at 12 weeks.

kayzisexpecting · 02/06/2008 09:12

Good luck for your scan Nolda

I feel exhausted this morning. I thought the tiredness was meant to go at 12 weeks!!

Its June now, so we have about 6 months to go!! Sounds ages away but it will soon fly!!!

OP posts:
mibbes · 02/06/2008 13:13

Good luck Nolda, look forward to seeing scan pic later
It is very quiet in here... maybe everyone is asleep . Quite fancy a wee nap at my desk..zzzzzzzzzzzz

LadyThompson · 02/06/2008 13:34

Hello everyone, can I join please? DD is due Dec 3, though it will probably be earlier I guess as I am having a cs. She is my first. I know the sex as I had to have a CVS. Is anyone due around the same time as me in maternity clothes yet? I am still in my usual jeans but they are starting to make me feel a bit tired but 14 weeks seems to early to start wearing stretchy stuff or those jeans with an elastic panel...as I feel I like I am just looking a bit podgy rather than pregnant...So what are you all wearing and how much weight, if any, have you put on?

LadyThompson · 02/06/2008 13:38

Incidentally I did that test and it was a 59% chance of having a girl, whereas I know I am 100% likely to have a girl...
