I'll have to go get the list.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hattyyellow · 30/05/2008 21:38

Cheers Artichokes. I feel a bit clueless about the whole screening thing, as they are very limited to the tests they could do on twins so we bypassed the whole thing last time...

I think we might just go for it...there's also the whole advantage of being able to book a time to suit you and childcare etc...

I can't believe I am still hungry! I had a huge stir fry with the girls at about 5pm and finished a big bowl of yogurt about half an hour ago and my tummy is growling...

I have the most bizarre craving for lime pickle! If only I could be bothered to drive half an hour to the nearest Indian takeaway (in my pyjamas) and ask if they'd sell me just the pickle!

theyoungvisiter · 30/05/2008 21:42

hatty - I didn't know that about twins - about the screening I mean. How interesting... does the multiples thing make the bloods all wonky too?

I suppose it makes sense - my sonographer had a hard enough time getting one foetus into the right position for a nuchal - I can imagine trying to capture 2 would be almost impossible.

Verso · 30/05/2008 21:49

hatty I craved lime pickle with DD! Ooh go and get some (or order some poppadoms and pickle for delivery?! ) It's making my mouth water just thinking about it!

southernbelle77 · 31/05/2008 07:03

Great news on your scans hatty, artichokes, Kay and chutney (and anyone that I might have missed, sorry). Glad it's only one this time hatty!

Sorry for those of you still feeling really sick. Mine has died off a bit now which is good in a one way, but making me slightly paranoid in another as I'm only 10 weeks.

I've been so busy with work lately. Any normal person would try slowing down when they find out that they are pregnant but not me! I've been taking on more children (I'm a childminder) and had a new baby start yesterday! I'd forgotten what it did to your arm muscles carrying a baby around so much!! All good practice for me I suppose!

kd73 · 31/05/2008 08:05

Southernbelle - sorry but I am delighted to hear you are feeling better. It has reassured me!

I think we are both due on Xmas eve and whilst I have been feeling much better I've started worrying that all is not well!!!!!!!!

pixsix · 31/05/2008 09:17

Great news Chutney, Kayz and Hatty!

Disenchanted · 31/05/2008 09:52

Bumps gone down now, more flabby than round, lol.

Still feeling very sick, i posted about feeling better for about 3 days and was worried but then it came back with avengance!

Nice of beanie to give me a break though, lol.

chutneymary · 31/05/2008 10:59

Artichokes, I went to the FMC yesterday and it was FABULOUS! Really worth the money. Lots of time looking at the baby, not much of a wait, lovely obstetrician and all round good news.

Hatty, I think it was you who asked - I am 38, so one of the oldest on teh thread. My age risk alone was 1:111 so it went down by miles once I had the tests.

AM feeling a bit sicky again but it could be to do with the coleslaw I had for breakfast. My eating has gone out of the window and I am munching strange things at all times of day and night. Had pasta last night though and that was great.

DH off at 3 so done some ironing (last tme I ironed for him was last time he went away) and then we're off to lunch. See you later.

kayzisexpecting · 31/05/2008 11:26

Hi ladies!!

Hope everyone is ok.

I've been to the library today and scanned the scan picture in and its now on my profile photo page. Its the top one. I feel so excited now.

Disenchanted · 31/05/2008 12:24

Awwwww Kayz!!!

Beautiful!!

I can't wait for mine! Only 10 days to go!

I found my babies heartbeat with my doppler this morning.

Things like scans and heartbeats makes it so much more real doesn't it?!

artichokes · 31/05/2008 14:12

Nice pic Kayz

Chutney - did the FMC offer to tell you the sex of your baby yesterday? I have three friends who have been to FMC for nuchal scans and all were told the sex of their babies at that point although it is not part of the advertised package. I really want to know the sex of this baby ASAP so am keeping my fingers crossed they can tell me next week.

chutneymary · 31/05/2008 16:17

Artichokes - yes they did offer but the best they could do was 75% as at this stage the genitals are still forming so it would be an educated guess. I am a bit of a control freak and wouldn't really want to be told one thing and then told something else a few weeks later. I decided to wait until 23 weeks when I'll (hopefully) find out for definite. But if you find out, you must let us know asap so we can start the headcount. Have you any preference?

DH has gone to Vietnam, I cried and we all have upset tummies . Oh dear. How long til bedtime (for the kids and me)?

chutneymary · 31/05/2008 16:19

OH and I saw a thread about this yesterday which seemed very sceptical about the possibility of accurate sexing this early on. The poster had been told 80% chance of boy but other people said this was bollocks and indeed the jolly old NHS won't look til at least 17 weeks. So be warned, it could be wrong!

artichokes · 31/05/2008 16:49

Thanks Chutney. My 3 friends all got given accurate gender predictions at their nuchals. I think the FMC use much better quality machines than the NHS so have a better chance of knowing. I know they cannot be 100% at this stage but I am sooooo impatient that I just want to know anything they can tell me.

I will be pleased whatever the gender of the baby. However, if this is a boy I will need to get my head round bringing up a male of the species! Its not a matter of having a preference so much as knowing I will need to psychologically prepare myself if it is a boy. I can't really explain it but I think it is because I was bought up without a father, brothers or any male relatives. I have never been very close to a man except for DH. Therefore I just feel like I have a better idea of what I am doing with girls! Also I have really, really enjoyed my first DD.

( - do I sound mad?).

msdynamo · 31/05/2008 16:57

Congratulations on all your positive scan results, I'm really happy for you.

Unfortunately I've been unlucky. After finding faint spotting yesterday, I discovered, via a scan, that I've had a dreaded silent MC. The baby had died 4 weeks ago. Still can't quite believe it as I've still got all the PG symptoms. I'm going to have a D&C on Monday.

Wasn't sure whether to post this as I really don't want to be a downer when the mood is so upbeat at the moment. But I felt a need to say goodbye to you all.

I want to wish you all the very best for your pregnancies.

Love, msdynamo xxx

Verso · 31/05/2008 17:05

chutney I'm not far behind you - I'm 38 in July

They didn't offer to spot the gender at my nuchal, but then I want it to be a surprise so I dind't mind. I hope you get to find out artichokes if you really want to know!

kd73 · 31/05/2008 18:41

Msdynamo

I am so very sorry for you .

BeckyBendyLegs · 31/05/2008 19:40

Msdynamo oh you poor, poor thing . It's just such an awful thing to go through, I know. When you feel ready to talk with the other ex-Dec 08 people who sadly have had the same or similar experience please visit the aptly named 'sad and miserable' thread in the MC section. I've found support there absolutely invaluable this last week or so since it happened to me.

As you can see I can't stop looking on the Dec 08 thread either! Hello everyone else!

kayzisexpecting · 31/05/2008 19:44

Hi Becky.

Hope you are looking after yourself.

MsDynamo, I am so very sorry. Look after yourself and take care.

Hello Becky, good to see you

Oh bugger, Artichokes, perhaps I should have asked? Were your friends told boys or girls? I know what you mean about getting your head round it. My DDs are so scrummy that I would love another one. I am one of 2 girls, as is my mother, grandmother and great grandmother, so I feel very female oriented like you. I wouldn't know what to do with a boy, but I am sure I could learn! It'll be exciting either way I suppose.
