I wonder how quickly we'll get through this thread?!?!?!?!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh G43 - 9lbs already, can see why you want to decamp to the hospital, roll on Sunday then at least if your waters break you'll be in the right place. I googled Polyhydramnios too as I had never heard of it, so do you have any of the breathlessness, heartburn, swelling etc?
I'll be thinking about you over the weekend, let us know how you are .
Take care

thegreenfairy · 16/05/2008 20:17

G43 what a nightmare! I do hope you get some good news.
I've read if you're in danger of cord prolapse and your waters break you should do the knee to chest position (on all fours and head down) as it will take any pressure off the cord.
Good luck!

aberdeenhiker · 16/05/2008 20:18

Oh my goodness, it's been a bad day hasn't it?

  • greenfairy - sorry to hear about your LO being breech. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I felt bad enough about being positive for GBS and having to stay in the hospital for 48 hours so I can understand why you'd be very disappointed.
  • rolf - it's not fair that after the garlic episode you still tested positive. (One of the lovely things about mumsnet is that it makes you feel less alone though - it's nice to know that other people are going throug the same thing - even though I wish you didn't have to!)
  • going43 - sending hugs! I hope things go well this weekend...

I was really miserable last friday when I found out about my GBS but I'm feeling so much more positive now - I hope everyone else feels better (and that things go better) in the next few days!

aberdeenhiker · 16/05/2008 20:19

off to pitlochry for the bike race now! Back on Monday.... (The car is going to be very full with one toddler, one bike, hospital bags, and regular bags all stuffed in the trunk and rear seat!)

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 20:31

Have fun AH

PearTart · 16/05/2008 20:41

Evening All,
What a day
Essie, I read your thread and I thought it's so normal to have fears about becoming a mother, your baby's health and all that that entails. And I think you are honest and realistic to want to voice these concerns. To avoid undiagnosed PND, community MW's do a questionnaire as standard when you have a newborn to see if you are coping, whatever your situation. And as motherhood is the biggest change you face as a woman (IMO) and full of the unknown it's bound to bring fears- real and irrational. I've got plenty myself. You shouldn't be judged for that.

TGF you sounded so sad to find out your babe is breach, I hope your babe and Paro's turn. It will all be OK once you hold your NB for the first time.

G43 hope things go well!

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 20:43

Evening Peartart - how are you?

PearTart · 16/05/2008 20:46

I'm home alone again, as DH working ridiculously late for the 4th night this week- so far he's come home at 11pm, 2am, 6.30pm (for once) and 1.30am. Due to come home at 9ish tonight. Fed up with this. Still feeling crap from this cold and want to be fussed over for once.

Will go and watch Dirty Sexy Money and imagine I have a big glass of medicinal wine instead of my honey and lemon!

sophiewd · 16/05/2008 20:48

Good for you PearTart - I had some medicinal wine earlier this week.

Upsidedowncake · 16/05/2008 20:51

I had some real wine on Tuesday. It was rose and it tasted lovely. Not remotely medicinal.

PearTart · 16/05/2008 20:52

, did it help?- I hear it can do wonders

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 20:52

Hope your cold goes soon PT - is it red or white imaginary wine? I feel like I'm home alone as dh is on a mission to get this guest room finished before they arrive in a week, so it's nearly 10 pm here and he's still painting.

Sophie - how are you? How many guests this weekend?

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 20:53

MMM I could just drink some UDcake

PearTart · 16/05/2008 20:56

Red and imaginary (big Aussie Cab-Sauv)- throat too sore for the real stuff. Tastes delicious BTW

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 20:58

I could just drink a glass of Baileys with ice or an Austrian beer cold from the fridge

PearTart · 16/05/2008 21:00

Virtual drinking party!
I'll just get some nibbles out to go with the beer...

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 21:03

Great, make mine a large one(drink - not baby)

Nibbles - mmm, twiglets - haven't had them for years

Upsidedowncake · 16/05/2008 21:04

May I recommend non-alcoholic cider? Lovely.

Would anyone like a vol-au-vent?

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 21:05

cider - do you know you can't get that here - loads of apples/orchards but no cider

no thanks to the vol-au-vent, got any sausages on sticks?

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 21:07

Upsidedowncake - we like your title for the new thread - Due in June - Creme eggs are long gone and our own eggs have started to hatch. Who will be next?
so will you start it off for us?

debinaustria · 16/05/2008 21:13

Sorry to be a party pooper - going to have to go and put my feet up with a cold glass of milk, n night all.

sophiewd · 16/05/2008 21:14

Deb - lots next morning off is 12th June.

Rolf · 16/05/2008 21:16

We've just come back from a party at school (as wild as we get these days!) and I had half a bottle of beer and lots of Haribo, so I'm feeling queasily cheery . DD spent the evening dancing with some yr 4 girls, DS2 got his hair sprayed red and DS1 shuffled around being blokey. We are so white trash!

AH - know what you mean about being pleased you're not the only one. I'd feel better about it if I thought the whole policy on GBS was rational but I don't think it is. But equally, now I know I have it I am too much of a worrier to ignore it even though I know that I must be very very low risk. I'll probably carry on dithering about what to do until the very last moment. Are you definitely going to have the ABs or are you going to wait and see if any other risk factors present themselves?

G43 - hope your GTT goes well. How worrying for you. My midwife warned me about cord prolapse when the baby was breach and it's very hard to shake that worry out of your mind isn't it?

Glad you're booked in Ernest/

TGF - hope you get a good night's sleep and feel better in the morning.

splodgesmum · 16/05/2008 21:22

Peartart, another Dirty Sexy Money fan?! Isn't it fab and isn't Nick totally gorgeous?! I loved him as Nate in Six Feet Under, but love him even more this time round!

Was thinking of Nate for my son but another friend already nabbed it, and then Nick, but I have a female ex-friend called Nic so don't want that either!!

GF3, really sorry to hear about the possible GD .

PearTart · 16/05/2008 22:02

Yep, i can see the appeal, but just loving all the mad-as-a-bucket-of-frogs DSM action. My only real TV fix.

Rolf- great image of your family!

And DH home at last- yeah! The weekend has started.

Maybe we'll get some more baby news tomorrow... Night night.
