I finally did a proper birth announcement but still haven't downloaded photo's. Have had far too many visitors this week and left no time for anything else, half-term has proved to be a double-edged sword! We have a completely free weekend though to recover before school run with 4 kids in tow begins.

sweetbean & fleurie - 5th June is DS1s birthday - we have had every single one of his birthday parties in the garden in glorious sunshine so I thoroughly recommend it.

Sweetbean I pip you by one day 40+6 today Are you screening calls now? I'm being a real mean cow and ignoring most phone calls and texts. My best friend sent me one yesterday morning along the lines of 'Hurry up - surely you've had at least a twinge?' which I wasn't that impressed with so waited until the end of the day to text her back to tell her 'No news!'

Norks our DC's may share a birthday then! I must admit to planning the pregnancy so that baby would have a late spring / early summer birthday as mine is at the start of Jan - so pleased that when I do have this baby it will have lovely birthdays in the garden!

Yes im defo screening all texts now as am totally fed up with it all especially when i get cornered by the neighbors with the comment of "OH STILL HERE THEN !!i mean FFS can't they just say nothing !!!!!!!!!!!! well i know that im climbing the walls now so you must be to i saw that this is your first and i went 10 over with my DD so don't give up hope!! I'm sure i will be the last man standing on this thread the only plus side for me is that there are NO June babies in my family but loads of us are born in May so if i do make it to the 1st June that it will mean that this baba won't get lost in the may birthday lot !!

Well i have just spent the last hour walking with my DD and most of it was in floods of tears as it is getting so painful! just loads of horrible pressure right above my cervix/pubic bone!! its soooo depressing!!

I hope everyone else is OK can we have a role call of who's left still to pop please is it....

Cannot believe I have only just seen this thread!! (thanks for sending the link asicsgirl) - do you mind if I gatecrash so late in the day?

I was due on 24 May but no sign yet! And like the rest of you am screening all calls, answering no texts or emails and generally going into hiding until I have some news to report.

Had a sweep yesterday about 9.30am and was 1cm dilated already - registrar said my membranes were bulging (?!?) and my waters could go "at any moment" so walked home v gingerly from the hospital! Last night very bravely managed to have sex - that's how desperate I am! This morning I have had a show but nothing else other than a strange urge to clean the bathroom!

I'm now scheduled for induction on 4 June when I will be 40+11 and no doubt climbing the walls and begging for anything that will get this LO to make an appearance!

Hey Ladies, Iv only just found this as well!
I was due Thurs May 22nd, had a show 2days ago and a sweep yday. Apart from the constant back ache nothing seems to be happening here. I am also booked in to be induced on June 5th.

Made the mistake of going out for lunch yday with mum in my home village and was stopped by everyone making comments about it taking soo long, even the chef was making jokes about giving me a discount if I had the baby there - charming!

Hi there! Glad i am not the only one out there.

I am starting to get what I think are contractions - kind of like very very intense period pains but absolutely no regularity to them.

I'm planning on going out for some spicy food and a large glass of wine tonight then fingers crossed it all kicks off overnight!

How are the rest of you doing??

Due today, no show, no waters breaking, no painful contractions only usual tightenings and twinges. Baby still head down but 4/5 so a long way from engaged. I think it will be a few days yet

im struggling in the heat today, decided rather than go for a long walk outside i went to my local asda (thought it would be cooler than outside). The walk seems to have done some good, well except from making my back ache more the odd twinges that i have been having all week have become sharper (fingers crossed)

I think 4/5 means only 1/5 is engaged and 4/5 is out. I don't quite know why they record it that way round. The head is still moving around a bit.

novicemama you sound like you are on the way from the sounds of it. I hope I get some good indications when I see the mw tomorrow for a sweep. Think I will cry if there is no dilation / effacement at all!!

However, hoping to envoke the law of sod as it's our 5th wedding anniversary on Saturday so it would be typical for it to turn up then and mean that we can never go out for our anniversary again (not that actually I would really mind!)

Well, off for the last third of the pineapple I have been munching on today and might even try to 'leap' on DH later.

PILES NEWS They had slightly improved the day before I gave birth, but hadn't gone. So for anyone suffering and getting concerned - I definitely didn't notice them during the birth! Post-birth, they were seriously horrible but just 4 days later they are improving really quickly. Just keep up the Germoloids!

Morning friendly May 08-ers!

I am in SUCH a bad mood this morning! waddled out for a local curry with my DH last night, had a lovely large glass of red and went to bed feeling like something was definitely going to happen... and had a completely undisturbed night! nothing even approaching a contraction! Does our LO not want to come and meet us?

Might go out today and see the SATC film or something in the hope of something happening - I am so so bored and demoralised about the whole thing

On a different subject, I said I had had a show yesterday morning but actually the majority of it came out last night (TMI alert) and OMG! I had no idea there would be so much of it! or that it would be so disgusting! Wow - well at least I know I have definitely had it now!

Also - can anyone advise me on whether it is still safe to have sex even after the show? I think it is probably OK (and really want to give it another try) as my waters haven't broken but DH is not sure (and is angling for a BJ instead I think...)

Well, I'm 40+3 today and and feeling pretty ropey. I've come down with a horrible head cold and am finding it really, really hard to sleep at night . Can't believe this has landed on me now, after months of good health. What fantastic timing .

So, I'm actually wanting bubs to stay in until I'm over the worst of it. The idea of trying to do hypnobirthing with a totally blocked nose is not inspiring me!

Novicemama think you are fine to go ahead with sex even after a show, I believe that it's only once your waters have gone that there is theoretically an infection risk. But check with the midwife if you're not sure.
By the way, apparently SATC film has a very amusing labour induction scene in - so might be worth a watch!!

Tried to suggest to DH last night that we could try and speed things along but I think we both talked ourselves out of it to be honest! Will wait and see what the midwife says at the state of my cervix later and then may have to take the plunge!

Baby went absoutely mad late last night was kicking and punching me like there's no tomorrow. Is anyone else's doing this too? I thought that they stopped having 'mad five minutes' this late on, is it another sign that things aren't ready??
