Not sure if anyone else has started a new thread as our other one ran out of room, but here we go...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
otter1980 · 28/04/2008 18:13

thanks GCG I think we ran out of room,

YCBS - you're still at work? I am truely in awe... im such a lazy fecker... (although i did spend today helping my friend's daughter with her uni essays if that makes me seem slightly less rubbish...) chocolate dog sounds like a total monkey - 3 leads... does he think your going in after them??

blobsmummy - bad news re funeral, hopw it wasnt too bad for you & DHxx

asics - festival is pretty fun, we did just do the grown up things last year but it seems to be quite the thing for LO's. (ok and big kids like me who just sort of hung around 'chatting' to a woman i know from work so i could watch the kids entertainers

GCG - lol, re fridge, hopw this means somethings starting for you...(everything crossed that i can) I think you can have sex if you've had a show but will ask midwife tomorrow

pina - how crap of them... still keep that number on re-dial and we'll all send labour vibes to those other mummys... stay away from the spicy food though!!! sound stupid that they'll do it if you start naturally but not otherwise? not quite understanding their logic...

I didnt realise that rasberry leaf tea made you constipated either... bugger - what do i do now them? start taking cod liver oil to balance it out? any ideas?

Denny (GCG's stalker ) do you just shove the whole thing up there then? I have heard that before but ????!!!

bobsmum - > (when i do that I think of that bit in finding nemo where all the fish are in the net, just swim down...) know how you feel re being left alone to have your baby, I have a deadline too (1st sodding pregnancies are normally 40+ weeks yet they fancy whipping mine out at 38/39 weeks)

re pineapples - it might be easier to shove a pineapple up your fanjo than reach to do the perenial massage...

Mocat - Hurray!!! much relief that you got through it all ok (and didnt go too mad stuck in hospital!!)

right - I'm off to start a list of things to ask the midwife tomorrow (how do i get baby out before that nasty consultant starts fiddling with my fanjo...)

asicsgirl · 28/04/2008 18:15

Well done GCG! Have a star

Congratulations mocat!

pina bad luck re. section date - how frustrating. Hope you get a 'cancellation'...

hereby serving eviction notice on bobsmum's bump... Out with you!

Come on baby! DP is making curry tonight... and I had a cuddle with my neighbour's not-exactly-a-newborn-any-more-but-close-enough 5 month old... been for a walk... scrubbed fireplace on hands & knees... I will wait until the randomised controlled trial has been published before putting any pineapples up my fanjo tho', that seems a bit extreme

pregnabrain · 28/04/2008 18:19

howdy!

well done for starting the new thread (in between shags and shows ). Very excited for you - hopefully things will kick off very soon. I'm pretty sure sex is still OK after the show, but not if your waters break. So keep at it! It seems to be doing the trick so far...

pina - sorry to hear that you weren't given a slot for your c-section but I totally agree that, if you go into labour first, you'll know that your baby is ready to come into the world. I reckon you should just call them as soon as you get the vaguest twinges to give yourself as little labour time as possible. Good luck with it and glad that you did sort of get what you wanted (I suppose they could have said no altogether).

bobsmum - sending mega natural birth vibes your way. I know how hard it is feeling like you're up against a birth deadline. I was desperate to go into labour naturally before my induction date last time. Sadly, it wasn't to be, but it was at 38 weeks so it was a bit of a long shot! Have you looked at the NICE guidelines on Vbac? They might have some info on whether or not an induction is a total no no.

Mocat - CONGRATULATIONS and glad everything went well. You must be so relieved that your hospital stay is finally over and that your bubba arrived safe and sound. You've taken my favourite boy name, by the way .

Many thanks to everyone for sympathy re dh argument. We spoke on the phone earlier and managed to be a bit more normal with eachother. We'll have a proper chat tonight (after the bleedin' Champions League ) and hopefully that'll be the end of it.

Just forked out £30 in Hennes for two new pairs of maternity trousers. Grrr. So gutted I've had to buy more with only 4 weeks to go but I have been down to one pair in the last few days as my under the bump ones have become too uncomfortable to consider. Oh well. I'll have to start a career on ebay once this is all over.

goodcatholicgirl · 28/04/2008 18:20

You know what, we are all laughing at the thought of sticking pineapples up our fanjos due to the size of pineapples, but if you really think about it, they are probably smaller than most babies that we manage to push out the other way.........

Otter1980 Glad you found the thread, hopefully that means the others will too. There wasn't even room on the old one for me to link it.
Oh, and I don't mind Denny being my stalker, she has been one of my very BF's for 15 years . I stalk her on her 'due april' thread too, it saves us having to ring each other cos we just see what we are up to on MN!!!! (she found out about Robonan dying by reading it on our thread . I had sent her a text but she hadn't checked her phone ).

hi all
just to let you know that isla willow was born on the 26th at 2.04pm she is a whopper at 8 pounds 3 ounces and has a gorgeous head of brown hair. we can't stop looking at her! bit sore from the c- section, but happy to be home as i landed next to a woman who snored so loud that i could feel my bed vibrating the nurses and doctors were amazing though and very impressed with the care we received. just got to cope with all the saggy bits now!

feeling a bit miffed as I have just been surfing the net and apparently the show isn't such a big deal, it could still be weeks before labour starts and given that I have had no other symptoms at all since, sounds like I should NOT be getting excited at all .

OP posts:
JackBlackRoady · 28/04/2008 19:58

congrats iarel - ace name too

pina - i have some arnica tablets, i opened them and took 2 - i didn't tear or anything! [jbr preens] - do you want them? i can send them to you - send me your address on fb!

Yeah to GCG for starting a new thread - I had a moment of panic when I realised I couldn't post on the other one!!! Sorry to hear the show might not be the sign you were waiting for - but it'll come!!

iarel Congratulations - that's a lovely name!

Bobsmm Thanks!! I've heard similar stories about Watford! I must admit, I've had good care at St. Thomas'

pregnabrain Glad you and DH are a bit warmer with each other - sorry to hear about you having to get new trousers... I'm pretty determined not to buy anymore maternity gear now (Fingers crossed!)

Mocat Congratulations!!!!

otter Yes, I am still at work!! Hope you get that list sorted!!! No one has had any need to look at my bits yet, and I'm really hoping to keep it that way!!

Hope everyone else is well!!

YCBS x

Azaduhi · 28/04/2008 20:46

Youcannotbeserious-i am booked at st. thomas too, looking forward to it as they are really great their,

congratulaion to mocat and iarel all the best

pina- sorry your appointment didn't went as u expected but you can still have your section somehow.

sending out eviction notices too all overdue babies...it's time to leave the warm nest and explore the world.

rofl at pinapples up the fanjo...not gonna try it, rather prefer waiting for labour to start naturally.

Congrats mocat and Iarel.

Ive got my EPO caps at the ready!

blobsmummy · 28/04/2008 23:15

Thanks for all your best wishes for the funeral. It went reasonably well although the description the humanist guy (who was leading the service) gave of DH's uncle was pretty much unrecognisable to everyone! He was going on and on about how much this guy will be missed - when in fact he was actually quite a nasty piece of work from all accounts (sorry to speak ill of the dead - I didn't know him personally but this is what his kids and family members thought of him). Just as an illustration, when his wife was in hard labour, he refused to take her to the hospital, refused to give her money so she could get a bus, and so she walked a couple of miles from her home to the hospital by herself - and gave birth within 30 minutes of being there - poor woman. I think the only distraught people there were his drinking buddies. Still, at least the sun was shining - there's nothing worse than going to a funeral when it's cold and peeing down.

PMSL at all the pineapple antics - until GCG reminded me of the size of a baby compared to a pineapple . I guess the only positive difference is that the baby isn't quite as prickly...

Huge congratualtions to Mocat and iarel on the arrival of their healthy babies. Come on Bobsmum baby - time to get this show on the road.

Pregnabrain - hope you have a good conversation with your DH tonight.

GCG I had a show two weeks before having DD last time - you probably didn't want to know that - sorry!

I'm seeing the MW tomorrow re: high BP, which has sort of stabilised at a slightly lower level, so my home birth is hopefully back on the cards, otherwise they want to give me a cervical sweep in two weeks time - and there's no way I'm letting them do that.

I'm currently testing out sod's law - we have practically no food left in the house and I can't get out to the shops until Wednesday when I plan to do a big monthly shop - what are my chances of going into labour before then?! Better make sure my list is up to date so I can send someone else out to get it instead.

bobsmum · 28/04/2008 23:25

Hey! I got the last post!!

Surely that means I'm entitled to the next baby????

Pretty please?????

MIL has to head off tomorrow. She's done loads to keep things ticking over, but were just getting to the nerves fraying time now. I think 2 weeks is the max amount of time to spend with in laws. Especially when there's no cute newborn to distract from annoying little habits. Although ds and dd are pretty damn cute even if I do say so mysefl

DD's not been too good these last couple of days - she's been up 4/5 times in the night. She says she's banged her head, but in the day she says her ear is sore. If we have another bad night I'll take her to the GP tomorrow.

Had lots of sympathy at playgroup today, when I waddled in and lots of tea and biscuits

No twinges At All. If I could move more than a couple of inches I would go for a big long walk or something. Just ate loads of Xmas pudding and custard instead - energy food!

Off to bed. Will see if dh can help things along , but will need industrial strength hoist to manouvre me into any kind of useful posistion

Congratulations Iarel - gorgeous name!!

asicsgirl · 29/04/2008 08:37

Morning!

Congrats iarel! Love the name too. Hope you feel less sore soon.

blobsmummy - glad funeral was bearable. It's always odd hearing a stranger talking about the 'dear departed', never mind giving what seems like such a wrong impression. I guess like you say, everyone is worried about 'speaking ill of the dead' - maybe they go too far in the other direction sometimes!

bobsmum hope DD feels better today. You sound like you've done brilliantly surviving 2 weeks of MIL at this stage - I'm even finding it quite hard having my mum around.

GCG re. show - yes it might not mean that everything will kick off immediately, but it surely means that your body is getting ready, so that's got to be a good thing. Chin up

Virtual bar is now stocking vindaloo for all the 'bring it on' crowd...

I felt very uncomfortable walking round yesterday, then very silly, shaky and excitable all evening with hundreds of trips to the loo. Had lots of uncomfortable BH which didn't stop immediately when I got into bed - in fact one of them was strong enough to wake me up! - all settled down again now but I'm feeling quite optimistic that things are gradually getting underway as this is very similar to what happened with DS. it took a couple more days with DS from this point but hoping my body will go 'Right! I remember this! Let's get on with it!'

Wonder how Pazza got on yesterday...

Have a good day everyone x x x

mumblesmummy · 29/04/2008 08:42

Hi all,

I've missed quite a lot with everything that's been going on lately. Good to see some more babies have been born!

I have an appointment with the consultant on Thursday to see about being induced at 39/40 weeks as my SPD is so bad now and I can't sleep for it at all. However, spoke to a midwife who said that it's not a good idea to get baby out at 40 weeks as it might not be ready... is that true? He's supposedly 7lb 11oz already.

For those who don't know, my sister had two baby girls yesterday (at 28 weeks) called Gretta and Honor. They are doing very well, as is she.

Hope more babies are born soon (without us all having to turn to pineapple fanjo poking).

sweetbean · 29/04/2008 09:08

Hello everyone

I have to say i did have a bit of a panic when i tried to post on the old thread and found i couldn't !

Pina Sorry to hear that they haven't been able to give you a definite date that's closer to your EDD. You must just feel like your in limbo!
Massive hugs to you babe and loads of sympathy on the not coping with pregnancy issues!!! If you lived a bit closer id invite you round for tea and chocolate cake and we could have a good moan together! xxx

Bobsmum Huge Huge out you come baby vibes going out to you. xx

GCG Get pomping it sound like its totally safe as long as your waters haven't broken !!

Blobsmummy i went and did my weekly tesco's shop when i was in very early labour with DD !! but im not sure i will venture out this time round as hopefully it will all happen a lot faster this time !!(20hrs with DD)

Mocat/Iarel congratulation on the arrival or Alex and of Isla Willow can i just say great choice on the middle name Iarel as my DD first name is Willow!!!

Well im feeling OK today and have got some stuff planed to keep me busy!

But......I'm really staring to feel like im going to be the last man standing !!! im not even due till the 24th and then thinking that it could be 2 wks after that is just doesnt bare thinking about!!!!

JackBlackRoady · 29/04/2008 09:12

mumblesmummy - i wonder what that midwife would have to say about flick, me and the others who had our babies early?

sweetbean, we'll be here however long it takes hon!

mumblesmummy · 29/04/2008 09:24

JBR- I'm glad you said that, it puts it into perspective doesn't it? I think he'll be fine to come out at 40 weeks considering by then I'll barely be able to walk. Let's hope the consultant decides to induce.

Could I just say a really big thank you to everyone who's left msgs on my other thread, it's very much appreciated. And an extra big thank you to Pina.

xxx

horseshoe · 29/04/2008 10:09

GCG-LOL at pineapple comparison - although slightly scared at the propect

iarel - Congratulations

mumblesmummy - Im pleased to hear the twins are doing OK. I have a consultant appointment today. (I thought it was yesterday and turne up only to be tld otherwise). Really gonna lay it on thick with the SPD and see if I can get induced.

Well Not having a good day today. DD2 had the mother of all tantrums on the way home from school today and was throwing herslef on the floor. I had pushchair which she kept wriggling out of and she wouldn't walk. Just wanted me to carry her which obviously I couldn't do. Sooo many mums tried to get envolved even though I was as calm as anything. (well trying to be). One mum kerb crawled me to be nosy so I ended up making a comment to her feel ever so embarrassed now

Came hom and cried at which point DD2 stopped crying and wrapped her arms round me.
