Not sure if anyone else has started a new thread as our other one ran out of room, but here we go...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

BBM I think wanting a bit of a rant and being a bit worried about the cord is totally normal. I hope you feel ok and that your baby turns soon.

The questions we get asked are mad aren't they. My boss texted me at 630am on Monday to ask if baby had made an appearance. Very, very strange! I keep getting texts about the weather & being hot. There are certain shops locally I'm just not going in anymore because I'm fed up of the shock that I'm "still here"!

Take care.

sweetbean · 14/05/2008 08:42

Morning lovely ladies,i hope that the sun is still shining with you all! i have a fun filled day today of sitting in the garden reading my book YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! dd is of to the out laws for 4hrs to its relax time for me alotho i have the MW at 1.00pm so please send me lots of engaged baby vibes!! xx

kangandRoo I think that if its possible its even worse up by you ! when ever i speak to my sister its always raining!!!! xx

Coolmama Good luck today im thinking of you xxx

BBM I'm sending you lots of happy healthy baby vibes until you have your next scan and can put your mind at rest!! xx

Monkeysmama i know what you mean i was 40+10 when i had DD and it dose get to the point where you just don't want to leave the house as the "oh haven't you had that baby yet" comments get so draining !!! xxx

luckymummy74 · 14/05/2008 08:50

BBM pmsl at your response to people in shops!!! V funny.

duchess there is nothing wrong with beautifying yourself in time for baby to arrive . It will make you feel all nice and yummy mummy after you have had your baby.

Well, I am feeling like wonder woman this morning....I had to get DD1 to the CM for 8am, this means leaving the house at 7:45am as we walk there (it's a five min walk for a adult, 15 mins for a toddler!). I set the alarm for 6:45am. Fed DD2, got DD1 up, dressed, went to go downstairs with them both, DD2 threw up all over me . Called DH for help (it was supposed to be a trial run for when he is back at work and I am on my own). Cleaned up DD2, DH gave DD1 her breakfast. Managed to leave the house at 7:45 (yay!) and all is well. Apart from the vomit episode, I think I did quite well!!

Health visitor coming at 10am to see us.

This thread is getting quieter (and therefore easier to keep up with!!)

LM74 (aka GCG!!! Shhhh!)

Fleurie76 · 14/05/2008 09:44

Duchess I am in awe that you can get to your toenails to paint them

Sweetbean engaged baby vibes being sent your way, enjoy your morning of me time

BBM and Monkeysmama know what you mean about comments and not leaving the house - desparately need to get out and about (trying to source venues for DH's suprise 40th party in Sept) but not sure I can bear the inquisitions. Perhaps I'll get making those flash cards now...

mayx - yep Ive been told about the sex too - however it was the worlds worst ever attempt at sex - we really didnt want to! we gave up very quickly and have agreed that she can come out on her own... evection notice served for your LO!

coolmama will be in hospital now! how very exciting!!

MM II - how did it go with the nasty midwife? did you come out with your fanjo untouched? I am also avoiding certain shops... walking twice as far to get a paper...

LM74 - hehehe deny everything!!!

BBM - PMSL!!! re waters breaking... you're not being silly about the cord, i worry about it and I havent actually seen that the cord is anywhere hear the neck...

glad everyone is as horrid as me at the moment about people asking if you've had baby/still here/ etc. I have actually stopped answering text messages, and I was really mean to my dad on phone he rung up and i snapped 'yep had the baby, just could be bothered to tell anyone, WHAT DO YOU THINK!!!!' i did apologise...

on topic of hot Dr - was a bit difficult to discuss having has bowel problems the other day .

I'm very proud of myself for wearing matching underwear, it was a bit of a suprise to me too... most of my underwear is not nice and matching (think knickers up to your armpits which DP thinks are hilariously funny) but i did buy some nice stuff earlier (when i still cared what i looked like...) and happened upon it yesterday morning, thought I'd give DP a treat - very impressed with myself now... [otter preening at her pure dumb luck!] also I did think that the law of sod would come into play, wear nice knickers, waters break - didnt sodding work...

monkeysmama · 14/05/2008 10:46

Not seen midwife yet-she is coming at midday. However I've had what I think must be a show-a tiny one- and am having odd belly pains!

I will keep you informed!

MM II

mayx3 · 14/05/2008 10:49

Morning all, Love all the postings re funny things people say to pregnant ladies. I got lots of happy due date text messages last Sat and good luck for today messages (as if babies are that precise!), tho to be fair very few of my friends have had babies. I actually quite like shocking people with the fact I might go into labour on them I've got quite a small bump so they always look surprised and it speeds up service!

Well had a great nights sleep (for the first time in ages so feeling good today) - a surge of energy, a sign? Here's hoping! Though suspect it's just the sleep.

Sending good vibes to CoolMama and will definitely be looking out for that birth announcement. I've just found out that my aunt (mum's sister) was 10 days late with her first and my mum was 6 days late with both of us so definitely a family trend. In fact I'm making an appt for monday and might delay my induction for a few more days as to be induced at 40+10 if that's natural for our family seems crazy. We'll see, by Monday I might be desperate! Maybe he/she will come on Friday which is the date I've had in my head for ages...

Definitely in awe of anyone who can paint toenails - I had to get DH to cut mine although he didn't do a very good job so I did have to sort them out afterwards! I thought just managing to shave my legs was impressive enough...

Have a good day everyone, I've got my sister coming for supper and planning to make a curry followed by pineapple (which were 2 for 1 in local shop!). Not that I'm desperate!

sweetbean · 14/05/2008 11:31

oh oh please can i join the smug "I can still paint my toenails" Bunch as there are so few things i feel good about theses days !!!! xxxxxxx

baiyu · 14/05/2008 11:37

Morning all!
Thanks so much for all the good wishes and congratulations. Finn is a beautiful and healthy wee boy, feeding really well and sleeping lots, not very much at night but no complaints! I'm over the moon.

Congratulations asicsgirl, blobsmummy and azaduhi! Arley, William and Issa, such lovely names.

Could fill this thread with my birth story but I'll pop it in the right place then try to post a link.

Hope you're all well, let's see the rest of these babies! xxxx

baiyu · 14/05/2008 12:01

My birth story is here

monkeysmama · 14/05/2008 12:34

Have we heard from Mumbles? I hope she is ok.

Something exciting is happening here!

luckymummy74 · 14/05/2008 13:23

Baiyu lovely to hear you sounding so happy . Enjoy it, these are very special times and they don't last long.

monkeysmama · 14/05/2008 14:20

Midwife just been and I'm 4cm dilated so the sweep discussion wasn't really relevant. She did something down there that REALLY hurt but felt baby's head and it is in position so I'm happy!

This is counted as an almost second labour for me so she said it'll probably be today or tomorrow!

I feel incredibly excited!

mayx3 · 14/05/2008 14:40

ooh monkeysmama so exciting - I'm jealous - good luck! Look forward to hearing all.

Congrats Baiyu, though slightly scared by birth story, but glad all well.

sweetbean toenail painting definitely deserves a certificate or something - you should hear the grunts when I try to dry my feet or put shoes on - I wonder sometimes what the neighbours think I'm up to!

My good mood this morning vanished when I called the GP surgery and they said the next antenatal appointment available was June 9th that's not a lot of good is it! However I might get one at the last moment on Monday so will have to try that... Got all wound up about it, emailed a few folk who sent nice sensible replies and then went for walk round park and cooed at ducklings - so cute and fluffy - egg laying would be much easier.... So feeling better again now.

Better cook that curry - amazing how easy it is to procrastinate....

Fleurie76 · 14/05/2008 14:44

Wow MM II sounds like it's all happening and that we'll have another announcement on the way soon!! Good luck!

Baiyu just read your birth story, sounds like you went through the mill a bit hon but so glad you are home and over the moon with Finn - congratulations

Despite all the babies coming on this thread, still can't believe that it will be me soon

horseshoe · 14/05/2008 15:29

Birth Announcement

Little Joseph was born on saturday 10th after only 3hrs 41minutes

We went in wednesday to be induced but after 3 lots of tablets nothing was happening apart from a few false starts. They then said I was 3cm dialated on Thursday but I had to wait for a space in the labour ward to have my waters broken and get things moving.

They finally burst the waters at about 7:30. Contractions started at about 8ish

By 10ish I felt pressure to push and even though I was only 7cm dialted the MW said he was in a good position and to let my body do what I wanted. I quickly got on the gas and air and 6minutes later he had arrived. Very painful but short and sweet!

I havent caught up on all the posts yet but congrats to all the new births.

otter1980 · 14/05/2008 15:33

good luck MM II!! 4 cms!

mayx - pineapple curry for you then? june 9th? [humm] thats helpful [humm]

mumbles has been quiet... in fact quite a few people have been quiet, come back and let us know whats going on!!

baiyu - lovely that you has such a positive time despite complications! very

at people who can paint toenails... last time i cut my toenails (and it was a while ago) it took me nearly 2 hours!! On a sort of related point DP made me cut my nails last night and they did look lovely as apparently he wasnt setting foot near a labour ward until i'd been declawed... have realised that I could however get him with toenails...

I have decided realised that this baby is going nowhere until they drag her out kicking and screaming. all hostage negotiation has been suspended and i have decided to ignore all twinges/ fanjo stabby pain/ crippling back ache etc as shes been doing it for 2 weeks now and still no baby... DP is placing his bets on tomorrow (as his birthday 5th april, mine 10th march so baby will be 15th may? apparently it all makes sense to him...)

pregnabrain · 14/05/2008 22:53

Good luck monkeysmama - I couldn't be more jealous that you've got to 4cm and barely realised it!!!!

Congratulations Horseshoe - sounds like a fab birth, despite the waiting around for the ARM.

Hope everyone else has had a good day. After a day yesterday thinking the baby was going to arrive any second, today couldn't have been more different. Not a twinge in sight.

Boring.
