Not sure if anyone else has started a new thread as our other one ran out of room, but here we go...

Thanks for the rumbling advice. I thought it might be my waters about to go but did wonder why I'd never heard of it.

All these BAs are exciting. Who is next?

Fleurie76 · 13/05/2008 11:54

Congratulations baiyu and Azaduhi glad you both have your babies now and are home!

Welcome eira and mayx3 MM - hope you are OK, you've been so excited about giving birth from the start (you've been a bit of inspiration to me on this thread as a fellow first timer I have dragged myself through the whole preganancy feeling mildly terrified and I've been amazed by your confident and up for it attitude!) I'm so sorry you're now so anxious about it and really hope that the hospital pulls up it's socks and gives you the treatment you deserve - let us know you're OK!

GCG and MM II at your visitor issues, surely this should be a time for you to be selfish - i think you're saints for seeing anyone at all! hope it works out

Duchess I'll still be here, not due to 23rd and not a sign of any progress despite baby now behaving by being head down and partially engaged!

Woke up feeling periody this morning with some shooting fanjo pains (it's a technical term). Got all excited and then...nothing.

otter1980 · 13/05/2008 14:17

hello mayx3 - welcome, sending babby come out vibes

MM II - know what you mean about the support, i feel the same way

Baiyu - congratulations, so glad that your DP got home in time. another boy!!!

Azaduhi - congratulations!! 2 and a half hours! bloody hell!

pina - hope that evie is feeling a bit less grumpy for you!

duchess - i know how you feel about THE question...

pregnabrain - oooo can I be next!! yay!!! that would be ace! am finding your predictions very accurate so far (hopefully baby is listening...) although with shooting fanjo pains you may go next?

In otter world - i went to hospital again today to see consultant etc, all very good, baby fine, right size, etc etc. However after all my visits with the nasty consultant, last time i got nice lady Dr, this time I got HOT Dr. OMG! who was also very nice. its nice to have eye candy... also last night we had 4 straight hours of very painful tightening and baby kung-fu before i managed to pass out go to sleep...

pregnabrain · 13/05/2008 14:50

ha ha - just call me Mystic Preg.

totally jealous of hot doctor - I don't think I've ever met one of these special creatures...

otter1980 · 13/05/2008 15:01

lol - mystic preg

yes I thought they were mythical creatures, like unicorns... I almost turned round to DP and commented, luckily i didnt otherwise we'd have had a strop, especially when I basically has to strip for him to measure belly etc (wearing Isabella oliver wrap top because i thought they'd just take blood pressure and send me away ) and pull my trousers down... for the first time ever I has gone to appointment in matching underwear though (and nice stuff too...) DP did comment in car on way back that hot dr took his time about examination so maybe he did notice me drooling slightly... or maybe hot dr has fetish for women with stretch marks like tiger stripes on her belly?

mayx3 · 13/05/2008 15:26

Afternoon all, thanks for all the welcome notices and feel part of the group now I'm on the list! Feeling a bit blue this afternoon. Nothing major but had check up at hospital and Dr tried to do a sweep, but no luck as no dilation at all which was a bit disappointing. Then she got concerned about the heartbeat and so I got sent for a CTG. Luckily that was absolutely fine and having had various scares in the last few weeks (although all more me than the baby) - I know the lovely midwife in the unit pretty well now so she reassured me. Anyway they've booked me in for an induction next Tues when I'll be 40+10 - I was going to try and hold out a bit longer, but to be honest just want this baby out now. Will have to get trying old wives tales in earnest this week - eating pineapple and drinking raspberry leaf tea at the moment! Tho midwife says only sex and lots of it works. Not that appealing when as well as a very active bump you have a streaming nose and hacking cough!!

So sending lots of baby eviction vibes being sent other people's way and hoping some bounce back to me too!

sweetbean · 13/05/2008 15:57

Ok im back i had to rush off earlier as i didn't realize the time so was only able to post the May babies birth list.

Monkeymama poor you with the pushy friends it must be a nightmare i would just turn your phone of and ignore everyone who has the potential to piss you off!! xx oh and just say you don't want the sweep if you feel that they are making you rush, it totally up to you!! xxxx

Mayx3/Eira Welcome xxxxxxx

Baiyu/Azaduhi CONGRATULATIONS XXXXXXX

GCG The gower is beautiful isn't it i love it there !!! we live about an hours drive away so not to far !

Well ive just had a carzy morning and a lazy afternoon so its been really nice.I can't get over this weather I LOVE IT !!! please don't let it go back to rain or i might get suicidal (It rains a lot in wales!!)

Loads of baby vibes to all overdue i can't wait until i see my name on the list !!!

Fleurie76 · 13/05/2008 16:11

Hi mum2scrap yep, I'm still waiting and not really having any twinges so I don't think this baby is ready to appear yet. Thought I had periody-type pains in my back the other night but think that was just back ache and wishful thinking on my part!
Not yet tried sex to bring it on, DH has been keeping well away in the last couple of weeks saying 'I don't want to set you off' Bless - he obviously thinks he has super baby inducing sperm - I don't like to disabuse him of this

otter LOL at hot doctor story. I still haven't got over my encounter with a lovely young doctor in France when skiiing a couple of years ago - I had to show him my pants too (unfortunately thermal ones). They shouldn't allow them I think - gets us ladies all flustered!

KangaAndRoo · 13/05/2008 17:44

sweetbean I can totally agree on the Wales vs Weather lol and its so nice we're getting a share of the glorious sun!!

Well im due tomorrow still losing 'stuff' really strong tightenings but not painful...phoned mw and she said it sounds all good and that 2nd sweep is on thursday. so sex n curry (not at the same time mind lol) tonight!!

Coolmama · 13/05/2008 17:55

So this is it - still nothing happening and am now 40+8 !! - so am going in to hospital tomorrow morning for the induction! All scary and exciting at the same time

monkeysmama · 13/05/2008 18:39

Coolmama-how exciting! You can be more or less sure you'll have met your baby this time tomorrow! Good luck! Look forward to seeing your birth announcement.

I am having a quiet baby day following another night of jumping and baby karate but managed to get some sleep last night which was bliss and is probably why me & baby are a bit more chilled today.

Seeing midwife at midday tomorrow. She mentioned the sweep she wants to do and I said we will need to discuss first as I'm not 40 weeks yet and am not convinced it is the right thing to do.

Eviction vibes to everyone who wants them. Maybe I should just send my mw-she's obviously very keen for my bubble to come out!

Hope all you pregnant ladies aren't finding the heat too much. I think it's meant to cool down at the end of the week.

Me again, I've decided to change my nickname back to an old one I used. Just a bit worried about all the slagging off of DH's family lately, that I might get found out .

luckymummy74 · 13/05/2008 19:49

Shall we say LM74 for short??!!!

KangaAndRoo · 13/05/2008 20:39

Azadhui ....forgot to say my congrats!!!

Coolmama ....how exciting...good luck n all that...go get some rest

pregnabrain · 13/05/2008 21:23

Hello again!

Just checking in...

Early to bed for me tonight as am pooped. And feet like watermelons after too much walking today.

Coolmama - best of luck for tomorrow. You must be so excited...hope you've got everything packed!

otter - can't believe you have NICE maternity underwear and were together enough to co-ordinate. Hot doc must have been impressed.

mayx3 - next Tuesday's AGES. You can fit a lot of sex / pineapple etc in before then! Have you tried acupuncture?

BigBadMouse · 13/05/2008 21:33

Oh I'm never going to remember everything I have just read . Apologies to all those I miss out (there will be quite a few of you!)

Coolmama - Good luck for tomorrow. Let us know how you get on as soon as you can. Are they planning any follow up regarding the kidney issue (hoping I have the right person here )

otter glad to hear about the hot doc - nothing like keeping DH on his toes I say!

MayX3 sorry to hear your sweep was a no go. There's still plenty of time until next Tuesday for things to stir naturally.

Flurie76 - pmsl at your DH. Mine is the same. Keeps asking if such things are a good idea as he doesn't want to 'set me off' then I remind him that he should take it while he can and that usually works. That said, for reasons I shall not go into (which anyone should be able to work out anyway) he has a very good point (no pun intended ) - took me years to get over the shock of my waters breaking with DD1 .

In other news...I saw MW last Monday, head engaged a bit, already had had one show, baby in optimum position for birth apparently. This was followed by lots of painful contractions every night which stopped at 5am. On Thusday lunchtime had strong contractions, huge show but decided to do the weekly shop anyway - contractions continued that night then stopped at 5am. After that hardly any movement from my previously incredibly active baby. This continued all weekend. Saw MW on Monday, head not engaged, baby now completely back to back . She tried to do a sweep for me (for various reasons I won't bore you all with now) but there was no chance. She says he will definitely be late.

I felt so disappointed tbh as things seemed to be hotting up. I wasn't too bothered about him coming soon but now I know he has the cord wrapped around his neck I just want him out so I can physically see he is OK. I'm a bit worried about all the twisting he has done but I have another scan next week so I can see if the cord is tighter or not then. I have a misalinged pelvis and he has a big head so what may habve happened is he tried to come out but couldn't and ended up back to back. DDs were back to back so been there done that, just wish the cord thing wasn't an issue - long labour plus cord round neck not the best of things but, lets face it, it could be a lot worse!

Anyway, rambling rant over - please excuse anything that makes no sense. DD2 has been waking 10+ times a night (little monster!).

btw - anyone else keep getting asked 'Are you still here then?' WTF DOES THAT MEAN?????? Am I supposed to be going somewhere???? Seems a very strange thing to say to a pregnant person (not to mention irritating). Thought it was a local (cornish) thing but a friend has just IM'd me and asked the same and she isn't local!

KangaAndRoo · 13/05/2008 21:49

BBM ...I get are you still with us? I answer...should I be dead? no its not the smartest thing to say! its when you actually see someone face to face and they ask...no baby yet? Urm...oh yeah forgot to mention that part...this is just a cushion up my top so i never forget what it looked like to be pregnant!

sorry...that turned into a rant LOLOLOL

I cant understand what youre going through hun Re the cord issue....I hope your scan goes ok (((hugs)))

BigBadMouse · 13/05/2008 22:23

KangaandRoo - Please rant away - makes me feel better - I only seem to come on this thread and whinge . People say the weirdest things to pregnant women don't they? - and they say we are the ones who go strange!!

PMSL at card bought for someone at work who was going on maternity leave - the front of the card said 'you're leaving to have a baby!' ...I guess it was just in case they needed reminding

I also keep getting in shops...

Them 'when are you due?'
Me 'Sunday'
Them 'OH you're not going to have it here are you?
Me 'You got an epidural handy?'
Them - awkward shuffle - 'ummm'
Me - Then NO!

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 13/05/2008 23:54

arf at otters hot doc! I only see midwives (thank heavens because I'm on first name terms with my GP, who's DCs are at the same school as mine, so there is no chance whatsoever of me taking my pants off for him!).

Good luck to coolmama for tomorrow. Eek!

The most exciting thing to happen today is that I painted my toenails. Oh yes! Took off the gold and now they are a deep pinky-red. And tomorrow morning I'm having my hair cut & coloured. Anyone would think I'd booked an appointment with otters Dr.
