I thought I'd better start another thread as the other one was full to bursting!

OP posts:

Oh Babblington - poor you. At least chances are you won't feel sick the next time you take the test

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 18:30

Sorry Babblington Third time lucky hey!!

I'm now eatin sausage and chips from the chippy and its gorgeous!!!!!!!

BeckyBendyLegs · 19/05/2008 18:36

Oh don't torture me Kayz! I've been craving fish and chip shop food for ages and ages. We're having chicken stir fry for tea.

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 18:38

Sorry Becky DH is on lates and I couldn't be bothered to cook today.

Verso · 19/05/2008 19:14

What a pity, babblington. I'm sure you'll have better luck next time!

Am glad I'm not the only one who can't stand cooking in the evening at the moment. I have evening sickness I think - it gets worse gradually during the day and reaches a peak between now and bedtime (ie 9pm). Problem is, we do our big grocery shop at the weekend during the day, when lots of stuff appeals to me. Come the evening, I can't bear the thought of any of it .

Maybe I should stop doing grocery shopping for a while and just go with the flow? Someone mentioned take away earlier...

majormoo · 19/05/2008 20:09

hope all turns out OK for you flumpy

Congrats to all who have just had good scans.
Mibbes-we now share a due date as I have a dating scan today that puts me at 11+2 so DD moved to 6th December. Relieved it is over as was so nervous about it. Now have the nuchal to get through for which I'll need an urgent referral.

Verso/katie your other births sound dreadful-am sure you will both get you elective CSs.

oooh sausage and chips from the chippy.

Llarrgrub congratulations

artichokes-poor you. Hope you manage some rest while you are signed off.

Babbington-good luck next time.

welcome Olipop

majormoo · 19/05/2008 20:11

DH does the cooking here most of the time anyway so I am lucky (well I cook for the kids). I am exhausted come the evening. I think now I have had my scan today DH has actually realised I am pregnant.

BeckyBendyLegs · 19/05/2008 20:14

I'm really nervous about my scan on Saturday. I think I've been trying to keep myself as busy as possible to try to make the time go quickly but the closer it gets the more tense I feel. Does everyone feel like this? I'm just worried that something is bound to go wrong and I have had the experience of a missed MC at 12 weeks before. Other things in our lives are falling into place at the moment: selling the house and buying a new one and the timing is perfect in terms of having more room for more little people. DH thinks I am just being a worry merchant.

Glad your scan went well majormoo Becky I'm sure everything will be fine. Its only natural you will worry after what has happened to you before.

babblington · 19/05/2008 20:27

thanks for kind words! Have just been reading about those of you due for a scan - I'm due 29th (ish) december which makes me 8 weeks, so I'm not due a scan for about 4 weeks, but when did you hear from your hospital? How much notice do they give you? I can't remember for my first two..

rosmerta · 19/05/2008 20:29

Evening all, am so tired I might just drop off to sleep on the laptop!

Welcome to olipop! Nice to have you on board

majormoo glad your scan went well

becky I know what you mean about being worried about the scan. Mine's on Thursday and time just seems to be dragging out. I'm sure everything's fine but the hormonal, irrational part of me is convinced its not!

Re Devon, we're off to Butlins in Minehead

BeckyBendyLegs · 19/05/2008 21:33

It's horrible this worrying thing. I just want to travel forward in time to a time when I can relax and enjoy being pregnant...ahhhhhhh! It's nice to hear good news on here about other people's scans though. And chatting about wanting to eat fish and chips and pasties helps a lot too!

I'm sitting here watching some documentary thing on BBC2 about some woman meeting up with her old classmates. There's really nothing much on at all. DH has sloaped off to his computer as he does every evening and left me and the cat to watch TV.

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 21:39

I'm watching Baby Race on SkyThree. Its about 30 sinle women trying to have a baby. One is looking for sperm on the internet!!

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 21:41

SinGle women. The blooming G key is still playing up.

MaeWest · 19/05/2008 22:11

Hey all - we're staying Dartmouth, South Devon, DS has a thing about boats atm.

Am loving napping while DS does, shame I've got 3 busy work days on the trot coming up and won't get the chance. I heart my bed, and will head there now.

Positive vibes for you flumpybumpy, thinking of you tonight, must be a worrying time for you.

Bisou · 20/05/2008 00:29

It took me three goes too Babblington Had a very similar experience to hatty - a nice examiner makes all the difference.

Flumpy sending lots of positive wishes your way. All the best for tomorrow.

Is anyone else weeing more than once at night, or am I the only one? Sometimes I don't even go at all until morning if I haven't had a lot of liquids in the evening. I'm worried about every little thing now and wondering if it is normal. I'd love a reassurance scan to check everything is ok, only I couldn't deal with a sad outcome without my DH who is back in Australia. I need him there if it's bad news again!

Cripes it's 12.30am... no wonder I'm tired! Night y'all.

EffiePerine · 20/05/2008 06:43

Thinking of you today, Flumpy.

Well, I need to ring the hospital to book in for my 12 week scan: I don't see the midwive until July which seems a bit odd. Am also 8 weeks or thereabouts, so should be in about a month.

Thanks for the info on the tests Kayz, I'm going to read up on the triple test and then decide. I'm booked in for it but I can just turn up and say I've changed my mind when I have my scan. They won't do the nuchal scan in that case, just a dating scan. I think. Everything has changed since last time and I am confused!

Glad the scan went well majormoo. Good luck for Saturday, Bendy

rosmerta · 20/05/2008 07:37

Flumpy, thinking of you today, fingers crossed!

Bisou don't worry, I'm not going to the toilet through the night either. I didn't last time iirc but did loads once the baby grew & rested on my bladder!

Have to take ds to drs today, he tripped up on Sunday and really walloped his nose. It still seems to be bleeding a bit & now a bruise has come up so we're a bit worried he may have broken it.

kayzisexpecting · 20/05/2008 07:42

Hope everything goes well Flumpy

I have got some new and red stretchmarks already!!! Its horrible so I am going to be very strict and put the cocoa butter stuff I have on twice a day.

mibbes · 20/05/2008 08:13

yeay majormoo EDD-buddy ! so glad it went well and ikwym about your DH, my DP is so much more excited and attentive now that we have had scan and it seems more real !
Becky I was in bits before my scan - having spoken to friends it would appear that this is an entirely natural reaction to scans. Will be thinking of you xx
Flumpy all the best for today hun xx
rosmerta poor DS !
kayz OMG the first stretchmarks on the thread ! I have been religiously using my various creams - got a new one last week - Burt's Bees Mama Bee - it smells yum !

Twiga · 20/05/2008 08:29

flumpy - thinking of you today.

babblington - you'll get it next time I'm sure. It took me four goes coz I was such a nervous wreck.

majormoo - glad your scan went well.

Becky - can understand you feeling nervous, hope the next few days fly and you don't worry too much.

Still spotting lightly here, but the lady who did the scan did say it could take a few days to settle. Finding it hard not to worry nonetheless. Am however feeling sick as a dog until mid afternoon, which is a good sign - never thought I'd be grateful for feeling so yuk! Got the mw on thurs and looking fwd to having seen someone again. Only up once in the night for the loo so far here but also keep waking up with a raging thirst at least once too just can't get enough fluids at the min - still bf so that's not helping.

Flumpybumpy · 20/05/2008 09:26

Thanks everyone, I will leaving for the hospital in a minute. Have just been to the loo and there was more blood again today. I had very bad cramps last night that kept me awake.

Really not looking forward to this at all, I feel so sick I haven't been able to eat, just managed a cup of tea.

Thanks for the lovely kind words, will let you all know later how i get on.

EmmaPP · 20/05/2008 09:28

Yesterday at our 3 month scan we found out the embryo'd stopped growing at 6 weeks. Yesterday i just felt numb and practical - ie cancelling all our antenatal bookings etc. Today i've woken up in floods of tears - which is probably healthy as i cant just block it out forever! We've both taken all of this week off work, as its looking like i may have to have a general anaesthetic later in the week to remove it if it doesnt pass naturally. It does feel really sad. At least we know we can conceive. Can someone take me off the due list, i was due 15th December. Thanks and big hugs to you all for wonderful blooming pregnancies and happiness with your new arrivals.
love Emma x
