I thought I'd better start another thread as the other one was full to bursting!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Indith · 17/05/2008 18:38

Congrats! That is very exciting

Fish fingers..yum, giving me ideas now. I need to replenish my random quick and easy ready food tomorrow.

mibbes · 17/05/2008 19:12

ooh hi abbymeg ! Good news that your scan went well and yes that is a very big gap ! We are the same here in that we get a dating scan at 12 wks and anomoly scan at 20 wks but no nuchal (just blood screening) am considering asking DP if we could go for a nuchal privately at 14 wks - trouble is he is a contractor so any time off work costs him a lot of money .
Well we have told all close family - all delighted, both my mum and DP's mum cried they were so happy ! DP's sister is beside herself and keeps texting, my brother's wife is so happy as she is currently 24 wks so the cousins will be 3 months apart
great news hotmama and okaythen !
OMG all this food chat is making me soo hungry !
Becky YAY for new house !

chinchi · 17/05/2008 19:14

Great news about the house Becky!

Just polished off a generous sized piece of chocolate roll, but I drank the last of my Irn-Bru, so have to wait for DH to replenish stocks this week!

I have my dating scan and booking in appointment on Monday Cant wait!

DS tucked up in bed and DH at work- night in front of TV tucked up in bed for me!

rosmerta · 17/05/2008 19:34

evening all, been helping out at the NCT nearly new sale last night & today and am now shattered. Don't feel like eating anything tonight even though dh has offered to cook (a very rare event!). Just feeling down in general . But enough about me...

hattyellow hope you got your cornish pasties & lol @ 'porn food thread'. Isn't that like the M&S adverts?

hotmama am glad the bleeding seems to have stopped. I'm sure everything's fine

Becky I'm still ok with cornflakes but if I'm getting fed up then Special K or rice krispies are a good alternative. But I am definitely off pizza atm, even homemade ones.

okaythen am pleased your scan went well

indith what an exciting year for you! Will you be going on honeymoon or saving it?

Maewest I'm off to Devon in June as well, maybe see you there?

chinchi have a lovely night, sounds like heaven to me!

okaythen · 18/05/2008 10:50

Good Morning! Still spotting on and off a bit here, trying to stay rational about it all - keep looking at the wee blob on my scan picture and reminding myself not to panic. Very tired this morning, had a pals baby shower last night an hours drive away, it was really nice but a bit weird with everything that's going on. It does however now mean that I've outtted myself in RL so will be back posting under my usual name Twiga from now on.

Had a fun but busy day yesterday as other than the baby shower we aslo took the dcs to see Thomas the Tank at the local steam railway with some friends. They had such a good time and bounced around like mad things with excitement. Then finished it all off with a bbq for tea so really nice.

Becky, congratulations on the house, lovely news . Will you have much work to do on it - I love the whole decorating thing .

hotmama, hope everything still ok with you.

My one weakness on a food front just now is fishfinger sandwiches with lots of vinegar - dad always made them as a treat for us at home if mum was away. Right better nip as have folk coming for bbq after church and I'd stayed behind to finish the tidying and have a peaceful bath. Catch ya later!

BeckyBendyLegs · 18/05/2008 11:00

Good morning everyone!

I'm in the dog house...I've just put DH's jeans in the washing machine with his wallet still inside the pocket (I'd emptied the other pockets of the various bits and peices but not the back pocket). So we now have a very clean and rather damp £20, £10, bank card, travel card and train tickets for next week and a big blob of old receipts. I'm sure if I hadn't been able to play the pregnancy excuse he'd be mad at me!

Can I come to Devon with you Maewest and Rosmerta? A holiday just now sounds lovely

I dreamt about Cornish Pasties last night. I also dreamt Kylie came round for a cup of tea.

BeckyBendyLegs · 18/05/2008 11:05

Okaythen we've done the Thomas the TE thing once before at Didcot Railway Museum. The DSs loved it! They really liked riding on the train.

Our new house is a semi-detached Victorian terrace and it needs a little bit of cosmetic surgery in the bedrooms but the rest is in good condition.

cc21 · 18/05/2008 12:42

Not been on for a week or so but had 12 week scan last week and all is well .

Th ewhole thing suddenly seems very real and I'm now starting to panic about how I'll cope with two children!!

kayzisexpecting · 18/05/2008 14:10

Are we all going to Devon on holiday? I'm going in July though so I won't see any of you.

I am feeling awful. I'm constantly tired, I went to bed at 9 the past 2 nights as I just can't keep awake. I'm hoping it will pass soon.

BeckyBendyLegs · 18/05/2008 14:27

I'll have to sweet talk the DH. We went to Devon last year in September and loved it. I want to go again!

The tiredness does pass soon. It's a killer though, isn't it? I nearly fell asleep in the bath just now.

Good news about your scan cc21! Five days, 21 hours and 31 minutes until mine!

rosmerta · 18/05/2008 15:48

We're going begininng of June, couple of weeks in fact! We got one of those Sun holiday deals and are off to Butlins

I'm hoping tiredness passes soon. I find I can't do anything, my studying has really taken a back seat (tutorial tomorrow & haven't done anything for it), and just in bed ridiculously early.

Four and a bit days to my scan!

llareggub · 18/05/2008 15:54

I was an early contributer to the Dec 08 thread but sadly had an early miscarriage. Just wanted to drop by to say that amazingly I am pregnant again so will be on the due January 2009 thread!

It is particularly amazing as I had fertility treatment first time around with my DS, now 18 months. I'm pretty shocked that I managed to conceive twice. Am only 5 weeks but have fingres crossed.

Indith · 18/05/2008 16:21

Congratulations Hope all goes well for you

Know what you mean about study rosmerta, exams? What exams?

I'd love to go to Devon, really not explored much of the UK at all. We are off to France in July though to camp a bit and visit my Mamie.

Flumpybumpy · 18/05/2008 19:40

Hi everyone, I have just been to the loo and there was quite a bot of blood. TMI ALERT - it was thick and brown I have also lost all my preg symptoms, no more sore boobs or sickness.

I will phone the GP in the morning but I am not holding out much hope

llareggub · 18/05/2008 19:48

flumpybumpy...don't panic. I had the same thing at 8 weeks with my first pregnancy. I lost a lot of blood and thought that was it. A scan showed a healthy heartbeat and my son is now 18 months old.

msdynamo · 18/05/2008 19:51

Hi flumbybumpy, brown blood is usually OK and common at this time, plus I find in the evenings my pregnancy symptoms disappear, breast tenderness, nausea etc. If I were you I'd go to your local A&E and not wait till morning. Maybe there's an early pregnancy unit at your hospital, but either way, A&E is what most people do in this situation.

Don't give up hope yet, all may still be OK.

Flumpybumpy · 18/05/2008 20:01

I have started getting period pain type cramps now too. I have tried to call the out of hours GP but have been on hold for 45mins!! A&E has been closed down and the mearest one is over an hour's drive away and DH is out with the car and I have no-one to look after the DC's

DH is on his way back but wont be here for a while. Even if I did get to the ospital tonight there would be a sonographer working on a Sunday night anyway.

I will wait to get throught to the GP and go from there.

Flumpybumpy · 18/05/2008 20:02

meant to type would NOT be a sonographer working

llareggub · 18/05/2008 20:04

I'd echo that. Bright red blood is the stuff to get most concerned about and even then it doesn't necessarily mean anything. I had brown spotting with my first pregnancy too.

okaythen · 18/05/2008 20:06

Evening, another very tired lady here, not sure I'll make it to 9pm, I'm shattered - just want to catch Dr Who first.

Becky the house sounds ideal, nice when you can move in and not feel like you've got a heap to do right at the start.

llareggub - that's fab news huge congratulations . I've just moved over from the due in Jan thread after a scan on fri sorted out my dates, they're a nice bunch - enjoy!

flumpybumpy - Will be keeping everything crossed that things are ok. If you've a EPU near you get in touch as they'll be able to offer a scan to check things out. Thinking of you.

Devon is lovely, very of all those heading off on holiday. We've planned a camping holiday on Jersey in June - one of those pre-erected tents so not too strenuous. Never been to the channel islands before and really looking fwd to it.

mibbes · 18/05/2008 21:18

Flumpybumpy everything crossed for you

EffiePerine · 19/05/2008 06:35

Fumpybumpy: hope everything is OK

pixsix · 19/05/2008 07:37

Flumpybumpy I hope you get good news from your GP today.

llareggub I'm so pleased to hear your good news. I remember when you had to leave the thread and I have been wondering how you have been getting on. Good luck!

Is anyone else having to get up a ridiculous number of times in the night to wee? I have been getting up 3 times a night for the last few weeks but last night hit the big time, getting up a record 7 times! It's really annoying, especially since the bathroom is downstairs at the back of the house, basically as far from our bedroom as it could be. I have heard that this is supposed to get better in the second trimester when your womb comes up out of your pelvis. Does anyone know if this is true? Please tell me it is!

I hope everyone has good days.

kayzisexpecting · 19/05/2008 08:04

Flumbybumby I hope everything goes well today.

Pixsix I think it gets worse as your pregnancy progresses. I did when I was expecting DS. But I suppose it depends on the person.

pixsix · 19/05/2008 08:17

Thanks Kayz, well I guess I'll have to set up a camp bed outside the bathroom or something! Hopefully we'll be moving in June, I'll def be looking for a house with a bathroom right next to our bedroom.....
